After escaping from the villa, although Su Ruo had locked the door behind her, she didn’t dare relax. Gritting her teeth, she ran with all her might.
Because this was a suburban area, there were already few vehicles around. It was a private villa district far from the city, sparsely populated even on weekends—today, the roads were almost deserted. Calling for help was simply impossible.
Su Ruo glanced at the empty road. If she kept running this way, she’d be caught very quickly. She couldn’t go in this direction. The abnormal sensations in her body were becoming more intense—even her breathing was trembling. At this point, she was running purely on willpower.
She quickly surveyed her surroundings and, with no time to hesitate, turned and ran toward the left.
To the left, small patches of woodland served as barriers between each villa. Beyond the trees was the foot of the mountain behind the villa—visible from the road in glimpses. That area was usually deserted and desolate.
Su Ruo’s plan was to head for the mountains behind the trees. From there, she could circle around to the back of the villa. The people chasing her would never expect her to run that way.
Just as she entered the trees, she heard voices and the sound of an engine starting. They were after her!
Her strength was all but gone. The effects of the drug had completely taken over—her limbs felt weak and hot, even the pain in her palm was now ineffective.
Afraid of being spotted near the forest’s edge, she forced herself to move a few more steps deeper. But after only a short distance, she truly couldn’t move anymore. She knew there was no way, in her current state, she could make it to the back of the villa. As unwilling as she was to give up, she had no choice but to hide behind a thick tree, trying to conceal herself for as long as possible.
Though it was called a forest, it was really just a scattering of trees—barely enough to provide cover. If her pursuers searched the area, Su Ruo would have nowhere to hide.
Just as she crouched behind the tree, the people chasing her had already arrived. She heard cars speeding by—clearly in pursuit. A few of them were carefully scanning the road for her silhouette. Luckily, none of them paid attention to the small wooded area between the villas.
Listening to the sounds outside, Su Ruo trembled. The aphrodisiac’s effects were vicious. She was already at her limit, and the extreme tension only amplified the drug’s power.
She bit her tongue to keep herself from making a sound. Sweat drenched her body, but none of it mattered. What truly broke her was the unbearable sensation between her legs—it was beyond control. And the more it overwhelmed her, the more she thought of Xi Yuechen. The dual torment of physical and emotional craving drove her mad with longing for him, as if thinking of him could make her forget what was happening.
She bit her already mangled hand to suppress the urge to sob, trembling silently. Hurry, please hurry, Commander… come save me… I can’t hold on much longer…
Xi Yuechen and his team were racing toward her, running several red lights along the way. At first, the traffic police gave chase, but soon they fell back—as if they’d received some kind of order. Even later, when they saw the car running more red lights, they simply let it pass, unmoved by the violation.
They quickly arrived at Shengting. Before they could even enter, a car drove out—its presence stark against the deserted road.
Su Heng was in Xi Yuechen’s car this time. When he saw the car coming from the other direction, he widened his eyes and shouted, “Brother-in-law! That car!”
Almost the instant Su Heng called out, Xi Yuechen spotted it too. He swerved hard—his car screeched to a halt, blocking the oncoming vehicle. The people inside, startled by the sudden move, scrambled in panic to brake, cold sweat running down their backs.
As the car stopped, Xi Yuechen and Su Heng jumped out and rushed to the black sedan.
Inside the car, the man, relieved they hadn’t crashed, rolled down his window, ready to curse—only to take a hard punch to the face. His head spun with dizziness.
“Who the hell hit me—argh!” He didn’t even finish shouting before another punch landed.
Su Heng threw two brutal punches, then yanked the man’s hair, pulling him out. The car was empty.
“Where’s my sister?!”
“Ah—let me go! That hurts, that really hurts!”
By now, the others from their group had arrived and surrounded the man. Seeing the sheer number of them, he panicked. Still held by the hair, he quickly begged, “I’ll talk! I’ll talk! Just let me go—it really hurts!”
“Su Heng, let go,” Xi Yuechen ordered coldly, his eyes fixed on the man, his voice like ice.
“Where is the girl you kidnapped?”
The man, terrified by Xi Yuechen’s tone, felt like blades were stabbing into his body. He shuddered involuntarily.
“She… she escaped! We’re looking for her too…”
Su Heng felt a weight lift slightly. If she escaped, maybe she wasn’t hurt yet. He swung again at the man. “Bastard! Are you blind? You dared to kidnap my sister?!”
Xi Yuechen’s brow furrowed. They hadn’t seen anyone on the road, nor any cars pass by. Su Ruo must still be inside somewhere—but where could she be hiding?
As Xi Yuechen stepped forward, Su Heng stopped beating the man and turned to Ye Huaiming. “Brother Huaiming, take care of him. We’ll settle the score later!”
Ye Huaiming sneered. “Don’t worry. He won’t get away.”
Xi Yuechen drove slowly, eyes scanning the surroundings, his anxiety completely exposed.
As they neared Hong Shirong’s villa, they saw a few men wandering about, clearly searching for someone—it had to be Su Ruo.
Su Heng, fuming, jumped out of the car before it even stopped and stormed toward them.
The others followed quickly from their vehicles.
Su Heng grabbed one man and began beating him without a word. The man, caught off guard, took several hits before reacting and fought back. The others nearby moved to help.
But before a punch could land, Xi Yuehui grabbed the attacker’s wrist with a snap—the man cried out as his arm cracked, and Xi Yuehui kicked him hard with a cold sneer.
Lu Yue and the others joined in. In no time, they had subdued the entire group.
Su Heng gave one man a vicious kick and shouted, “Where’s my sister?!”
The man curled up in pain. “Your sister—who?!”
“Still playing dumb?! Where’s the girl you kidnapped?!” Su Heng kicked him again.
“Stop—please! I don’t know! She escaped…”
Xi Yuechen’s frown deepened. He clenched his fists, joints popping as he scanned the area. Where could she have gone?
Su Heng, unable to get anything more, kicked the man again. “If anything happens to my sister, you’re all dead!”
Liang Bo’an, eyes dark with fury, swept a cold glance at the groaning men on the ground.
Wait—what was that?
Liang Bo’an’s gaze paused on two drops of blood near the roadside. He hesitated, looking toward the small grove nearby…
As he took a step, Xi Yuechen also spotted the bloodstains. His eyes darkened further, his aura cold and deadly. Without looking at Liang Bo’an, he strode straight into the woods.
As soon as he entered, he caught a strong scent of blood. With years of military training, his senses were razor sharp.
He quieted himself and listened. Moments later, his eyes lit up—he dashed toward a tree not far away. But what he saw behind it made him freeze.
Su Ruo was delirious, tormented by the drug, still trying desperately to stay silent. Her breathing was ragged, her legs tightly clenched, rubbing against each other, her body soaked in sweat and trembling. Her clothes were a mess—completely disheveled. Gone was her usual pride and grace. Xi Yuechen felt his heart twist painfully.
“Ruo Ruo.” His voice was hoarse as he crouched and embraced her.
“C-Commander?” Su Ruo instinctively flinched, but upon hearing his voice, she looked up, dazed and confused.
“Yes, it’s me. I’m here.” Xi Yuechen instantly realized what had happened. He held her tightly, a shadow of danger flashing through his eyes.
In that moment, all of Su Ruo’s strength crumbled. She threw her arms around his shoulders and wept uncontrollably.
The others heard the commotion and started to head over, but just as they stepped into the woods, Xi Yuechen snapped, “Stop! Don’t come any closer.”
Perhaps it was the sheer force of his voice, or perhaps they truly feared they might intrude on something private—though they were anxious, they all stopped in their tracks and waited silently.
Xi Yuechen gently patted Su Ruo’s back and whispered, “It’s okay now. Let’s go home.”
He took off his jacket and wrapped it around her. With his tall frame, the coat completely enveloped her. He gently wiped the sweat from her face and carried her out from behind the tree.
Su Ruo had a brief moment of clarity, but soon fell into confusion again. Now that she was safe in Xi Yuechen’s arms, her defenses dropped completely. She tugged at her clothes restlessly, her legs writhing, and murmured, “Commander… I feel awful… I want…”
Xi Yuechen understood exactly what had happened. Judging by her state, she’d held out for quite a while. His heart ached as he comforted her again and again: “Ruo Ruo, hang in there. We’re going home. It’ll be okay.”
The others could see how she was acting. They’d seen enough in life to understand immediately. Su Heng, shocked at first, stared with wide eyes. Then, overwhelmed with rage and grief, he cried out, “Sister!”
None of them had expected this. Their shock and fury were palpable. But they knew better than to crowd in now—they all looked away, their hearts heavy. Su Ruo had always been the princess of the family, cherished and protected. How could she suffer such humiliation?
Su Heng couldn’t bear to see her like this. He stormed back to the men on the ground and, eyes bloodshot, began beating them mercilessly. His voice choked with fury: “You bastards! Animals! How dare you treat my sister like that?!”
The men screamed under the blows, unable to fight back. Lu Yue and the others didn’t stop him—they deserved worse.
Xi Yuechen carried Su Ruo toward the car, ignoring everything else, murmuring constant words of comfort.
As he walked, he called back, “Take care of things here. I want answers.”
