Zhou Tingzhang would never forget what he saw on that bed.

His daughter—always proud, excellent, and morally upright—was now… with a man.

And she hadn’t even noticed him entering.

Zhou Tingzhang stared at the two people on the bed, completely lost in themselves. He tried desperately not to faint, but dizziness, pain, and heartbreak coursed through him, his entire body aching as if countless thorns were piercing him.

He grabbed the nearest object and slammed it onto the writhing couple. Bang!

It was the leftover water in a cup from earlier, and it struck Zhou Yunzhen’s forehead, splashing cold water across her face.

The sudden pain hadn’t even given her time to react, and the icy water flowing over her burning cheeks jolted her fully awake.

Frowning, she opened her hazy eyes, momentarily disoriented, muttering softly in confusion.

The man on top of her had already been startled by the flying cup, instinctively stopping and turning to look at the half-century-old, bloodshot-eyed Zhou Tingzhang at the bedside.

By this time, the effects of the drug on Zhou Yunzhen had mostly worn off. Her previous compliance with the man’s advances had been more out of groggy habit than conscious choice. The double shock of forehead pain and icy water now snapped her fully awake.

The first thing she sensed was the weight on her body, the heat pressed against her skin—and, of course, the awkwardness below. That man hadn’t left her body yet.

Instinctively, she tried to push him off but failed. Wide-eyed, she finally took in the situation.

“Ah…!”

Anyone who opened their eyes to see a man on top of them would be horrified—even the normally composed Zhou Yunzhen.

“Who are you? Get off me!” she screamed, pushing and kicking. Then she realized the worst—he was naked and… inside her.

She knew what that meant.

Panicking, she flailed and screamed, trying to force him off.

The man, already scared by Zhou Tingzhang’s sudden assault, had lost all interest. Now faced with Zhou Yunzhen’s hysterics, he had no intention left. He grabbed her hands as she pounded on him, flipped over, and rolled off—but only onto the bed—lying there naked and unfazed.

“Damn, after you’re done, you’re ready to deny it?” he sneered, lifting his eyes to Zhou Tingzhang, still trembling by the bed.

He smirked, thinking the older man was seriously provoked. “I didn’t force your daughter. In fact, she seduced me.”

“Uncle, tired? Come, sit. Don’t be shy!” he said in his usual rogue tone, eyes full of defiance.

Zhou Yunzhen, still processing how she had ended up in bed with a man, instinctively looked at the figure at the bedside.

Seeing him, it felt like a hammer struck her mind. The shock caused her to lose all awareness. Her wide eyes revealed sheer terror, her body shaking uncontrollably—whether from fear or shame, she couldn’t tell.

“Dad…” she murmured blankly.

“Don’t call me that! I’m not your dad!”

Zhou Tingzhang finally exploded. His fury, more terrifying than his battlefield persona, with a brutal, murderous glare, made Zhou Yunzhen feel like she had fallen into hell.

In her panic, she forgot her exposed state, the aftermath of intimacy on her body, which only intensified Zhou Tingzhang’s heartbreak and rage.

“Don’t let me see your filthy body!” he roared, trembling with fury.

Zhou Yunzhen finally realized how exposed she was. She screamed and scrambled for cover. The scattered clothes on the floor were the man’s, so she grabbed his suit jacket to shield herself.

“Uncle, calm down! Getting too angry is bad for your health. Let’s talk,” the man said, trying to maintain bravado, though he felt a chill from Zhou Tingzhang’s gaze.

Zhou Tingzhang, barely holding back his wrath, fixed his eyes on the man. Even that gaze made the rogue tremble.

He regretted not leaving earlier—why risk a little pleasure? But now, seeing Zhou Tingzhang’s terrifying aura, he panicked.

“Uh, uncle, I mean…”

He couldn’t speak. Zhou Tingzhang’s eyes were like knives piercing his heart. Terrified, even his teeth chattered.

Zhou Tingzhang stepped forward, yanking the man’s hair, forcing him to the ground.

“Ah! What are you—ah!”

Before he could finish, Zhou Tingzhang’s fists and feet rained down. Painful cries replaced words.

Red-eyed and furious, Zhou Tingzhang had no reasoning left—only the desire to punish the man who defiled his daughter. Each strike carried endless murderous intent.

Soon, the man was barely alive, trembling in agony, feeling death looming.

“Stop… please… I’ll die…”

The man gasped through bloodied lips, desperate and terrified. But Zhou Tingzhang couldn’t hear him; all he could see was the image of his daughter’s defilement.

Zhou Yunzhen curled up, burying her head in her arms, biting her lips to stop crying, blood staining her chin. Her mind went blank, consumed by terror and helplessness. The man’s pleas felt like daggers to her heart.

“Stop!” she screamed, covering her ears, her cries sharp and piercing.

That scream brought Zhou Tingzhang back to reality. Seeing the man motionless on the ground, his expression shifted—he realized the man was still alive. Any further blow would be fatal.

Almost… he had nearly killed someone.

Finally, Zhou Tingzhang’s fury subsided slightly. He stood upright, looking at Zhou Yunzhen, who was on the verge of collapse.

“Zhou Yunzhen, what do you have to say for yourself?” he demanded, clenching his fists. He feared losing control and harming his daughter further.

“Dad… I don’t know… I was…”

Her voice trembled, choked with sobs.

“Explain yourself clearly!”

Zhou Tingzhang was past mercy—anger burned hotter than ever, seeing his daughter like this.

“Dad… I don’t know how this happened, I…”

She realized she couldn’t tell him about today—it would be fatal if he knew. She scrambled for a cover story.

“I…I was sleeping. I didn’t know who he was… I had no idea what happened… Dad, I didn’t do it on purpose…”

Her words were fragmented, her body still shaking, unable to meet his gaze.

Zhou Tingzhang no longer believed her. From the moment he discovered her hidden thoughts, their trust had begun to fracture. Now, seeing the bed scene, any pretense of trust shattered. Her explanations were just excuses.

He couldn’t believe the daughter he raised was capable of such disgrace.

“Don’t know? Alright. If you still have the face to lie, fine. I’ll find out myself!”

He stepped back against the wall, exhausted but still seething, restraining himself from slapping her.

“You!” he pointed at the man on the floor. “Why are you here? Do you know her?”

The man, barely alive, gasped and explained, terrified:

“I… I don’t know. A woman called me, said someone was waiting here for me… to sleep with me… and offered money. I agreed. Then… she took the initiative… undressed me… it was her idea, really…”

He was telling the truth—Zhou Yunzhen had orchestrated it to target Su Ruo.

Zhou Yunzhen’s mind reeled—she realized she had been set up. Su Ruo had turned her own scheme against her, using the plan to deliver a fatal blow at the critical moment.

She understood now: everything happening to her was her own doing. The despair, the shame, was just retribution.

Yet, no one could understand her despair—not even Zhou Tingzhang.

“You… actually found a man? You’re disgracing yourself! What were you thinking?!” Zhou Tingzhang roared, believing she had ruined herself.

“Dad! It’s not me! Someone set me up! I didn’t find a man! Please believe me… it’s her fault… I was wrong…”

Zhou Yunzhen tore at her hair, wailing.

Zhou Tingzhang’s heart was already shattered—seeing her like this elicited no reaction.

“Someone set you up? You brought this on yourself with your shamelessness! You harm others, yet cry foul when consequences catch up? Fine. Let’s continue,” he said coldly, drained and emotionless.

“Do you still have the number of the one who called?”

“Yes, my last call was to her,” the man replied, fumbling for his phone.

Zhou Yunzhen’s phone rang, piercing the tense silence. She didn’t know how to explain—the call was hers, but she intended it for Su Ruo…

Zhou Tingzhang, expressionless, seemed unsurprised. Pain and fury gripped him, almost to the point of fainting.

“Get out.”

After a long moment, he rasped, and the man, shocked but overjoyed, hurriedly dressed and left.

Zhou Tingzhang turned away from the bed, refusing to see his daughter again. The room’s air was vile, making him nauseous; he couldn’t bear to look at her, afraid he might strangle her in his fury.

Zhou Yunzhen collapsed onto the bed, sobbing like a fish out of water, bruised, trembling, utterly miserable.

“Dad… I was wrong… please don’t hate me… it’s Su Ruo’s fault…”

She cried like a madwoman, feeling abandoned by the world, thinking only of her father—her only parent—who had seemingly forsaken her.

But Zhou Tingzhang’s heart had long been shattered. He wished he had never had such a daughter. Her actions had destroyed a lifetime of pride and discipline.

“Ah, what a tragic drama… I’m almost moved,” Gu Jiawei muttered, losing interest in the scene.

“Xi Yuechen, are you moved? Your admirer seems to have come to her senses,” he teased.

Xi Yuechen, icy as ever, showed no reaction. To him, this was a fittingly deserved farce.

Even seeing Zhou Yunzhen’s downfall, he had no intention of forgiveness or letting things go. He remembered Su Ruo’s near-death kidnapping—how could he allow her to be endangered again? He even felt an impulse to personally deal with Zhou Yunzhen, his gaze colder than ever.

Gu Jiawei noticed the shift but remained silent, internally musing on how love can drive a man to extremes.

Deciding there was no point in watching further, Xi Yuechen prepared to leave.

“Where are you going?” Gu Jiawei asked.

“Home.”

Without hesitation, Xi Yuechen left, leaving Gu Jiawei frustrated.

“Pfft, this guy… the spectacle wasn’t even worth it,” Gu Jiawei muttered, withdrawing his gaze.
