RMM -Chapter 204 Su Ruo Bleeds

Rebirth: A Military Marriage 7 min read 204 of 365 39

Su Ruo’s stiff head turned toward Long Ge standing beside her, her hands covering her mouth trembling uncontrollably.

Long Ge looked at Pan Zhiming lying on the ground and let out a sinister smile. His gaze then slid over to Su Ruo, locking onto her directly.

“Do you think he’s going to die? He will. I’m going to kill them all—none will escape! And you…”

Su Ruo’s heart jolted. Finally realizing the danger, she bolted to the side as Long Ge raised his blood-stained knife again.

At this moment, she could no longer worry about the weight of her belly. Summoning every ounce of strength, she ran forward, the wind whistling past her ears, yet she could still hear the footsteps pursuing her.

She knew those steps belonged to Long Ge, and she could even hear his labored breathing:
“B*tch, do you think you can escape my grasp? If I could kill Pan Zhiming, one more of you is nothing! Stop right there!”

Each step of Long Ge and every shout landed in Su Ruo’s chest like a thousand-pound hammer, shaking her to the core.

The weight of her belly seemed to grow with every stride, making each step agonizingly hard. She knew she shouldn’t be exerting herself so intensely in her condition, but she had no choice—she couldn’t stop, not even slow down for a second. Long Ge was relentless behind her; if he caught her…

Images of Pan Zhiming lying on the ground, bleeding profusely, flashed through her mind. Gritting her teeth, she pushed herself even harder. No—she couldn’t let him catch her!

The streets were deserted in the early hours, with only the occasional car speeding past. Su Ruo had no one to turn to—she had to rely entirely on herself.

Even so, no matter how hard she ran, she was a woman about to give birth. How could she outrun a grown man? Soon enough, Long Ge caught up to her.

By now, Long Ge had abandoned any thought of humiliating Xi Yuechen. His sole focus was on killing her. In his mind, betrayal could only end in death.

Pan Zhiming’s betrayal had shattered all of Long Ge’s remaining reason. His mind was consumed with thoughts of mutual destruction—insane, as Su Ruo would later describe it.

Suddenly, a sharp pain tore through Su Ruo’s belly, amplified by the intense running.

Her heart leapt. What if something happens to the baby? Pain after pain assaulted her mind, and panic flooded her being, nearly pushing her to the brink of collapse.

In her fear, Su Ruo didn’t notice a manhole cover jutting from the ground. Her foot caught it, and she stumbled, nearly face-planting onto the street.

Just as she regained her balance, Long Ge grabbed her arm, freezing her instantly.

He squeezed her arm mercilessly, gasping for breath, and sneered coldly, “Run again, b*tch! You think you can escape me? I’ll send you and your child straight to hell!”

His face twisted in rage as he raised the knife to stab her in the belly—only to freeze mid-motion the next second. The knife stopped in midair.

A pair of small, narrow eyes widened in disbelief. Slowly, his gaze fell from Su Ruo’s face to her belly—where a fruit knife was embedded, the handle firmly gripped by Su Ruo herself.

It seemed he couldn’t believe he had been injured by her. Staring at the blood flowing from his stomach, he didn’t even seem to feel pain, just stood there, stunned.

Su Ruo, however, could no longer endure it. The excruciating pain in her belly made it impossible to focus on Long Ge’s shocked expression or fear whether she had just killed him. Seizing the moment, she released the knife and ran backward.

“Baby… you must be okay! Mom will take you to the hospital now, alright? Don’t worry… just hold on a little longer…”

Her whole body trembled. The pain brought overwhelming fear and despair, and she could no longer hold back, crying aloud as her eyes scanned around for help. In the next moment, she dashed onto the road.

She knew she had to reach a hospital quickly, but she couldn’t go alone. Her pain left her exhausted, drenched in cold sweat, on the verge of fainting. She didn’t even know where the nearest hospital was, so she could only rush onto the road to flag down a car.

What terrified her even more was Long Ge behind her. How much could a small fruit knife injure him? What if he caught up again? Then she really wouldn’t escape!

Unexpectedly, as soon as Su Ruo reached the roadside, a car stopped in front of her. Three people stepped out.

Without hesitation, she ran to them, grabbing one person’s arm. Trembling, trying to hold back her sobs, she begged, “Please… take me to the hospital… save my baby… I’m begging you…”

The three were stunned by this sudden scene, turning to look at the disheveled woman.

“Su Ruo?!” one of them exclaimed in disbelief.

Hearing her name, Su Ruo’s heart leapt—someone she knew! She looked up, her tear-filled eyes blurry but still recognizing the face.

“Hong… Hong Shirong?” she cried, ignoring whether he would respond, pleading through her tears, “Please, take me to the hospital… quickly… my baby…”

“Okay, okay. Don’t speak yet. We’ll get you to the hospital immediately.”

It was Hong Shirong. Life is full of unexpected reunions; after so many twists and turns, they met again in a foreign city—but in the most wretched state imaginable for Su Ruo.

Hong Shirong didn’t have time to ask what had happened. Seeing her nearly collapsing, he didn’t hesitate and immediately agreed.

The other two exchanged glances, raising eyebrows. They recognized each other? Who is this woman? Why is she like this?

But the situation was clearly serious…

They noticed her sweaty hair, pale face, terrified expression, and heavily pregnant belly. It was obvious she was in critical condition—enough to frighten such a beautiful woman into this state.

Since they recognized each other, they let Hong Shirong take her to the hospital. The other two got into the car first.

Hong Shirong was both shocked and worried. Many questions ran through his mind, but he didn’t ask. Supporting Su Ruo, he prepared to get her into the car.

“Chen Shao, help drive!” Hong Shirong called to one of the men standing aside.

The man, called Chen Shao, raised an eyebrow. Seeing the urgency, he didn’t refuse. He stepped forward, opened the door, and got in.

“What about that guy? He seems hurt by this woman,” one asked.

The man left on the roadside shrugged. He had been about to go alone when he noticed Long Ge rushing toward them, bloodied and furious.

Hong Shirong glanced at the crazed Long Ge, eyes narrowing, a cold light flashing. He said sharply, “That guy is in your hands, Yang Shao. Don’t let him escape.” Then, without waiting for a response, he added, “Perhaps things in Beijing will take a turn for the better.”

The car sped off in an instant, vanishing from sight.

“Stop! B*tch! I’ll kill you!”

Yang Shao frowned at the hysterical Long Ge. Disgusted by his blood-soaked, insane appearance, he was reluctant to intervene. But remembering Hong Shirong’s words, he clenched his teeth, straightened his expression, and stepped toward Long Ge.

If what Hong Shirong said about Beijing was true, dealing with this madman seemed worthwhile. Though skeptical, Yang Shao decided to gamble—surely Hong Shirong wouldn’t deceive him.

Inside the car, Hong Shirong looked at the unconscious Su Ruo and her belly, his expression complex. Sighing, he took out his phone and dialed.

“Hello, Dr. Tao?”

“Yes, it’s me. Sorry to disturb you at this hour. One of my pregnant friends is in trouble—her condition isn’t looking good. Can you arrange something? We’re on our way.”

“Thank you so much.”

After the call, Hong Shirong exhaled, telling Chen Shao to speed up. The streets were empty, so there was little risk of accident.

“Who is this woman? You seem really concerned,” Chen Shao teased as he drove swiftly.

“Just past matters… never mind. She can’t get hurt, otherwise…” Hong Shirong said with a helpless smile, thinking of the previous near-disaster caused by her. He shuddered at the thought of what might happen this time.

Suddenly, Chen Shao exclaimed, “What… what’s this?!”

Hong Shirong’s horrified voice followed: “She… she’s bleeding!”

Earlier, Hong Shirong had placed his hand near Su Ruo, only to feel something wet. Looking, he realized his hand was soaked in blood—Su Ruo’s blood!

It was her belly…
