Remembering how she had been avoiding him lately, his expression darkened. He said nothing, turned off the light, and lay down on the bed.

As he casually pulled a corner of the blanket over himself, he suddenly felt Su Ruo slowly moving closer. The moment her hand touched the warmth of his skin, her entire body went rigid, frozen in place. For the first time, her mind went completely blank—so much so that she felt panicked.

Not even during military drills or special missions had he ever felt this… at a loss.

“Commander, tonight, we…”

As Su Ruo spoke, her face burned with embarrassment. Keeping her eyes shut, she trembled slightly as she reached out and placed her hand on Xi Yuechen’s chest, feeling the fabric of his sleepwear.

“Are you sure?”

Xi Yuechen’s voice was low and hoarse, frighteningly deep—like a beast lying in wait. Su Ruo couldn’t help but feel a flash of fear. She hesitated, but instead of answering, she gritted her teeth and slid her hand inside his collar, feeling the burning heat of his firm muscles.

Xi Yuechen couldn’t hold back any longer. He turned and pulled Su Ruo into his arms, his grip tight and urgent.
