The world suddenly felt surreal. How could Xi Yuechen say something like that? It was practically a fairy tale!
“Like… extremely…”
Su Ruo felt her heart pounding violently. Such sudden, sweet words were almost too much for an ordinary mortal like her to handle.
Xi Yuechen had said it in a moment of heated impulse. Seeing Su Ruo looking somewhat dejected—even a little insecure—he had blurted the words without thinking. Now, even he felt slightly stunned.
But seeing Su Ruo staring at him as if she had seen a ghost, her eyes wide open, made Xi Yuechen feel a bit embarrassed. He raised a hand to cover the corner of his mouth and coughed lightly.
“Stand properly and take a shower.” Saying that, he rubbed the shower gel onto Su Ruo’s shoulders.
The icy shower gel sent a shiver through Su Ruo, making her curl up slightly. She slowly recovered from her overwhelming shock.
Xi Yuechen, seeing her shiver, thought she was cold, so he turned on the water and guided her under the warm stream, letting it wash over her body to chase away the chill.
He didn’t speak, maintaining his usual expressionless demeanor, yet his movements were careful and meticulous. If one looked closely, one could notice a trace of unnaturalness on Xi Yuechen’s otherwise stern face.
Perhaps… we could interpret this as Xi Yuechen feeling a bit shy?
Su Ruo, meanwhile, was too preoccupied with Xi Yuechen’s earlier words to notice his hands roaming over her body. Her mind was a haze, lost in the sweetness of what he had said.
Amid the shock, a deep, creeping sweetness arose from her heart, making her almost want to cheer and dance with joy.
Xi Yuechen had actually said he liked her… liked her immensely!
She had never imagined hearing such a confession from him. Though she never doubted his feelings, hearing it directly from his mouth felt entirely different.
Ignoring the fact that Xi Yuechen was still helping her shower, Su Ruo fixed her large eyes on his face, a smile curling her lips.
So, the commander not only didn’t mind her current body shape but actually liked it?
A mix of excitement and emotion collided within Su Ruo, surging through her body. She felt she had to do something to express her feelings in that moment.
Without thinking about the fact that Xi Yuechen was washing her, she cupped his face, rose slightly on tiptoe, and kissed him on the lips.
For a moment, the bathroom was filled only with the sound of running water. Su Ruo’s sudden action left her drenched, the rushing water splashing against her cheeks. She had to close her eyes, her thick curled lashes trembling violently under the water.
Xi Yuechen was acting unusually today, just as Su Ruo had suspected.
Since the afternoon, he had been far from his usual calm and indifferent self. A series of uncharacteristic behaviors—from the steamy bath to nearly losing his composure, and then the blurted confession—had left him dumbfounded when Su Ruo kissed him, letting her tongue explore his lips. The soft touch combined with the warm water made his heart race.
Su Ruo, feeling unsatisfied with his reaction, lightly bit his lips.
“I’m being so forward, and you’re like a wooden post—how am I supposed to take it?”
The bite finally brought Xi Yuechen back to himself. He cupped Su Ruo’s head and kissed her back, taking control immediately, his tongue exploring her mouth.
Su Ruo struggled to breathe under the water, which made the kiss even harder to endure. She pounded lightly on his chest to signal him to stop.
Xi Yuechen moved her aside, eyes slightly reddened, gaze aggressive, his heated breath against her face making her blush.
Was it from the heat, embarrassment… or desire?
“Is this okay?” Xi Yuechen asked softly, unable to hold back.
Su Ruo knew exactly what he meant. She could feel the firm, hot stirrings below.
“Gently… it’s okay.” She blushed, lowering her head, unable to look at him, speaking softly. Was she… teasing the commander?
Sensing Xi Yuechen’s restraint, she nodded in agreement. She had checked and knew that at this stage it was okay to be intimate, as long as the movements were gentle. She didn’t want him to feel constrained.
Besides… she had been missing him too. Now, feeling the closeness, she didn’t want to refuse.
Hearing this, Xi Yuechen’s eyes darkened, waves of passion threatening to sweep Su Ruo away.
His movements quickened, gentle but urgent, as he continued washing her.
Even simple touches now carried a charged sensation. Su Ruo felt his slightly rough, large hands like twin fires on her skin, making her burn from every contact.
Already stirred, Su Ruo felt even more overwhelmed. Her pregnancy made her body more sensitive than usual.
She let out a soft, breathy sound, pressing herself against Xi Yuechen’s chest. Her limbs felt invaded by the familiar, exquisite sensation, leaving her powerless.
Soon, they left the bathroom. Xi Yuechen carried Su Ruo to the bed, laying her down softly before lying beside her.
“Slowly… be careful of the baby,” Su Ruo said, holding his hand.
Even aroused, she still cared for the child, speaking seriously.
“I will be careful,” Xi Yuechen replied, naturally mindful.
Before long, Su Ruo surrendered completely to Xi Yuechen’s assertive yet gentle approach, losing all rational thought.
Outside, the night was quiet and empty, everything seemingly asleep. Inside, however, the room radiated warmth and life.
The night had only just begun.
The next morning, both awoke refreshed and utterly satisfied, in exceptionally good spirits.
Xi Yuechen, as usual, woke very early. Seeing Su Ruo curled up like a little cat in his arms, smiling in sleep with her hands tightly around his waist, he couldn’t help but enjoy the sight.
Reluctant to leave her warmth, he wanted to hold her and sleep a little longer. But with everyone in the house, he restrained himself, gently prying her hands away and preparing to leave.
“Commander?”
Feeling the sudden emptiness, Su Ruo frowned and called instinctively, which dispersed much of her sleepiness. She rubbed her eyes, ready to get up.
Xi Yuechen, surprised at how light her sleep had become, sat back on the bed, ruffling her hair messily.
Su Ruo, fully awake now, tilted her head and let out a small whimper, pouting like a disturbed cat.
Sitting up, rubbing her eyes, hair messy, she murmured, “Commander.”
Her lazy, slightly tousled appearance made her unusually cute, softening Xi Yuechen’s heart. He responded with a pleased “Hmm.”
“Why not sleep a little more?”
Su Ruo sat up and tidied her hair, inwardly thinking how strange he had become—so different from before.
“Yes, I wanted to sleep longer, but someone disturbed me,” she said slowly, glaring at him on the bed edge.
She had been nearly awake when he got up. These days, she slept lightly, waking easily, yet she didn’t hold back her complaints.
Xi Yuechen noticed her casually sitting, the blanket slipping to her collarbones, exposing bare arms. Though he couldn’t see under the blanket, he could imagine her body beneath it was also bare.
The simple floral cover wrapped loosely over her, pale skin half-exposed, creating a teasing allure. Su Ruo’s expression was lazy, her long hair spilling across the sheets, exuding relaxed charm that tempted the eyes.
Especially tempting to Xi Yuechen.
Clearing his throat, he turned his gaze away, walking to the window to take a deep breath, restraining himself.
He shook his head helplessly. At this age, still like a greedy, inexperienced youth… almost insatiable.
Su Ruo watched him curiously, frowning. What was happening? He was acting stranger and stranger.
She truly felt that something about him was completely off.
“Commander, are you okay?” she asked, unable to suppress her curiosity.
“Yes, I’m fine,” Xi Yuechen replied, calming down, his eyes regaining their usual composure. Turning to Su Ruo, head tilted, he asked, “Want to sleep a bit more?”
It was still early, they could take a nap.
Su Ruo thought about it and decided it was better to stay in the warm bed than wander around aimlessly.
“Mm, I’ll sleep a bit more. You go do your thing.”
She issued a firm dismissal and lay back down, ignoring him.
Smiling at her, Xi Yuechen stepped out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Once he was gone, Su Ruo opened her eyes. After the morning’s excitement, she couldn’t sleep again. She grabbed a parenting magazine from the bedside and began flipping through it.
Though she wanted to stay snuggled with Xi Yuechen, she knew that was a fool’s dream—at least here at Zhengjia Manor.
Sigh. If he didn’t sleep, she could, and enjoy the comfort.
