PD -Chapter 166 Blood and Black Feathers

The gigantic goat trembled slightly, emanating a sacred aura that inspired awe. Between its massive horns, an intense white light gathered into a huge sphere of energy, preparing to fire at the two figures suspended in the air.

The two figures exchanged glances, seemingly saying something to one another.

Then Lucifer’s figure flashed. The enormous black wings on his back beat rapidly twice as he bypassed the giant goat and arrived at the rift behind it. Black energy swirled around his hands as though he intended to tear the crack completely open through his own power alone.

At the same time, the black underground river beneath our feet—the Hell Rift itself—began behaving like an awakened beast opening its jaws. The fissure expanded violently. The black river that had once flowed through it quickly dried up, replaced by scorching heat surging from the depths of Hell and a dark crimson glow the color of blood.

The Hell Rift soon spread toward the three of us. We had no choice but to use spiritual power to float into the air and hide behind Shen Tu’s concealment barrier while observing everything unfolding before us.

“They really are trying to connect the rifts between the Three Realms,” Shen Tu said, staring intently at the figures of the Five Ghost Emperors and Lucifer ahead. Who knew what thoughts were running through his mind?

Rumble… Rumble…

At that moment, a gigantic shadow slowly crawled out of the Hell Rift.

It was an ugly monster with a fiery-red back, as if molten lava flowed beneath its skin. Moving on all fours, it resembled both a crocodile and a lizard.

The lizard flicked its tail and rapidly charged into the sky.

By then, the holy goat had already released the massive energy sphere it had been charging between its horns. The sphere shot toward the Five Ghost Emperors at incredible speed.

“Those two should be the guardians of the Hell Rift and the Divine Realm Rift respectively,” Shen Tu’s voice sounded beside me. “It seems the Hell Guardian—the Molten Lava Lizard—has already been subdued by them.”

As he spoke, the enormous Hell Lava Lizard flew into the air and positioned itself directly in front of the Ghost Emperor.

Opening its gigantic, hideous mouth, it calmly allowed the energy sphere to fly straight toward it.

BOOM!

The deafening explosion echoed throughout the entire space.

The enormous sphere of energy shot directly into the Lava Lizard’s mouth. Clamping down with its rows of razor-sharp teeth, the creature actually bit the energy sphere apart. The resulting shockwave was so powerful that heaven and earth themselves seemed to tremble.

At that very moment, illuminated by the blinding light, I saw the Five Ghost Emperor flash forward, instantly appearing before the giant white goat. A short spear suddenly materialized in her hand. Following the elegant arc of her movement, a massive gash was sliced across the goat’s throat.

Golden blood poured down from the giant goat’s neck like a waterfall.

Yet despite such a grievous wound, the goat still refused to die.

A blast of air erupted from its enormous nostrils. It immediately twisted its head and used its spear-like horns as weapons, ramming toward Lucifer, who was attempting to tear open the Divine Realm Rift.

Compared to the gigantic goat’s head, Lucifer’s tiny figure looked like a kite with its string cut.

He was instantly knocked away from the Divine Realm Rift.

“Now!”

My heart suddenly pounded.

A voice inside me was urging me forward.

I immediately raised my gun and aimed at the winged figure.

Standing beside me, Shen Tu seemed to have already understood my intentions. A hole instantly appeared in the barrier before us, and I thrust the gun through it.

Grinding my teeth, I channeled spiritual power and, in nearly the same instant, imbued both the gun and the bullet with three categories of spells: Lightning, Fire, and Demon-Breaking.

The thunderous gunshot reverberated throughout the space.

The projectile, glowing with the colors of three overlapping rune formations, struck the winged figure in the blink of an eye.

The three elemental energies exploded simultaneously across his body.

When the brilliance faded a moment later, I saw that only one wing remained on his back.

Red blood rained down alongside countless black feathers.

Combined with the golden blood still pouring from the holy goat, the scene possessed a bizarre and indescribable beauty.

The only thing I cared about was that my shot hadn’t taken Lucifer’s damned life.

At the instant the bullet struck, Lucifer had wrapped his enormous wings around himself like a shield. By using them as armor, he had narrowly escaped death.

Honestly, being able to cripple one of Lucifer’s wings meant the power of that shot had already far exceeded my expectations.

Lucifer’s upper body was completely bare. Blood from the severed wing stained half his body red.

“Retreat!” Shen Tu shouted softly.

Her figure vanished from beside us at once.

Liu Xiaopeng and I weren’t fools either. We immediately split up and fled into the darkness in different directions.

Lucifer shot toward us like a supersonic missile.

Yet at that very instant, Shen Tu’s black short spear flew from her hand, hurtling straight toward Lucifer’s head.

Lucifer clearly noticed the weapon.

He froze momentarily, a trace of surprise appearing on his face. Evidently, he recognized that the spear was identical to the Ghost Emperor’s.

Though the spear’s momentum was fierce, Lucifer still caught it effortlessly with one hand.

Even so, it bought Liu Xiaopeng and me a precious opportunity.

Liu Xiaopeng had already unleashed the Immortal-Slaying Sword.

Under the control of his flying-sword technique, it shot toward Lucifer in an instant.

This time, its target was the lone remaining wing on his back.

Lucifer snorted coldly.

With a squeeze of his hand, Shen Tu’s spear shattered inch by inch and disappeared.

Then he brought both hands together and, relying solely on the strength of his physical body, directly clamped the Immortal-Slaying Sword between his palms.

Black and golden light collided.

And in that instant, a colossal beast appeared out of thin air in the sky.

One of the Dragon King’s Nine Sons had finally arrived!

The divine beast Bi’an lunged toward Lucifer with its massive body.

In a single bite, it seized Lucifer’s solitary wing and planted a heavy paw on his head, attempting to rip away his last remaining wing.

Seeing that we had gained the upper hand, I couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement.

I raised my gun once more.

This time, I aimed directly at Lucifer’s head, pinned beneath Bi’an’s paw.
