“Anyway, you’ll be coming with me soon. You’ll see for yourselves when the time comes,” Shentu sighed and leaned back into the rear seat again, speaking indifferently.

I shook my head and stopped paying attention to her, closing my eyes as random thoughts drifted through my mind. Along the way, Liu Xiaopeng was driving. I noticed that ever since that incident, he had become somewhat different—he spoke far less than before.

Still, I understood. Anyone who had gone through what he did would probably need time to recover before regaining their normal state of mind.

We soon arrived downstairs at the office building. Before the car even stopped, I saw the eldest miss of the Zhu family standing beside a red sports car through the window.

When Zhu Zhu saw us return, she immediately stormed over and questioned me, asking why I had acted without even telling her.

I had no choice but to come up with various excuses. In the end, the young lady’s gaze finally landed on Liu Xiaopeng. She stared at him for a long while, then leaned closer to me and lowered her voice.

“I feel like… Brother Xiaopeng seems different now?”

Actually, I had already given her a rough explanation over the phone when I asked her to help deal with the Tongzilou residents. Liu Xiaopeng was right there, so I couldn’t say much, so I teased her instead:

“What, haven’t seen him in a few days and your Brother Xiaopeng has become more handsome and stronger?”

The young lady shot me a glare, then surprisingly blushed while looking at Liu Xiaopeng.

Only when Shentu got out of the car did Zhu Zhu show a trace of fear, instinctively keeping her distance from the woman and hiding slightly behind me and Liu Xiaopeng.

“Oh? Is this the little girlfriend of the Liu family boy?” Shentu looked Zhu Zhu up and down with interest and even whistled teasingly. “Not bad, that kid’s taste is pretty good. This figure—though it can’t compare to mine—is still top-tier among humans.”

Zhu Zhu’s face turned even redder at that, but knowing the woman’s identity as an Ghost Emperor, she forced herself to endure it for the bigger picture.

Liu Xiaopeng, however, seemed far more confident after awakening his bloodline power. He actually shot Shentu a glare.

“We should focus on the next step of the plan,” Liu Xiaopeng said as he placed his luggage down and sat for a moment before speaking first.

I looked at him and hesitated before asking, “Your current condition… is it okay?”

Liu Xiaopeng nodded. “Don’t worry, Brother Han.”

As he spoke, he slowly raised his right hand. Golden spiritual energy spread from his palm, and a miniature version of the Dragon Nine Sons’ totems appeared in his hand—radiant and dazzling.

“In that case, according to plan, you two will be going on a one-day tour of Youdu with me,” Shentu said, folding her arms and leaning against my desk.

I nodded, telling myself inwardly that what was coming would come sooner or later.

“You have a way to take us into Youdu?” I asked.

Shentu nodded, but after thinking for a moment she added, “Your physical bodies won’t work. I can only bring your souls into the underworld.”

Liu Xiaopeng and I exchanged a glance. For someone like us now, leaving the body was not difficult—but abandoning the physical body and letting our souls follow Shentu into the underworld was another matter entirely.

Humans exist normally only when soul and body are united. With the help of the Tianxuan Record of Insight into Heaven, we could glimpse heavenly secrets and cultivate spiritual power. Our mental and soul strength already surpassed ordinary people by far, so brief soul separation or astral projection was no issue.

But once the body was left behind, if the soul suffered a devastating blow in the underworld—or if the physical body left in the human world was destroyed…

In either case, there would be no way for us to return to our current state.

This was no small matter. We had to be cautious. Neither Liu Xiaopeng nor I wanted to die young and become wandering spirits in the underworld.

I glanced at Liu Xiaopeng, silently asking for his opinion. He simply nodded, eyes firm.

After thinking for a moment, I said, “If that’s the case, we need to find a safe place to store our bodies—somewhere absolutely secure, where someone can guard them while our souls are out.”

“It must be hidden, and absolutely safe,” I added, looking at my simple, shabby office and shaking my head. “This place won’t work.”

For a moment, everyone fell silent. Except for Shentu, who was watching the show, the three of us were deep in thought.

Finally, Zhu Zhu spoke first.

Her eyes lit up. “I have a place that is absolutely safe!”

I frowned. “What place? Don’t tell me it’s your family’s villa—that wouldn’t be suitable…”

What I feared most was that once our souls left, Lucifer or the Five Ghost Emperors might get wind of it…

If they sent something to destroy our bodies, not only would Liu Xiaopeng and I be finished, even Zhu Zhu’s family could be dragged into it. So her home was definitely not an option.

“No,” she shook her head before I could finish, then continued, “It’s much safer than my home.”

“I’m talking about Baoyu Bank,” Zhu Zhu said.

I was slightly stunned. Baoyu Bank was the city’s first privately-owned commercial bank, and I naturally knew it was part of the Zhu family’s assets. But did she mean to literally store our bodies in the bank after our souls left?

“Baoyu Bank has the most tightly secured and safest vault system in the entire city,” Zhu Zhu continued. “Didn’t you say you needed absolute safety? My idea is to clear out a vault, secretly place the two of you inside, then activate the full security system. There will be personnel guarding outside, plus nearly five meters of blast-resistant walls as protection… and I’ll stay inside watching over you. That way, it’ll be completely foolproof!”

I stared at her plan, dumbfounded, thinking that as expected of a wealthy young lady, my imagination really was too small. When she spoke, even the plan sounded expensive.

“If… the bank agrees, then that would indeed be the best solution,” I said after a moment of hesitation.

“So this little girl’s a rich second generation, huh? That Liu kid really knows how to choose,” Shentu teased again from the side.

But this time, no one paid her any attention. Zhu Zhu blushed slightly but quickly changed the topic, answering my earlier question:

“With me handling it, no one will dare say no!”
