Mei Qing, Ji Jiaxin, and Xu Xiaoting — each one of them was an elite among elites. After stepping onto the path of cultivation, their intelligence had risen to an even higher level. How could Liu Qiaoye’s intentions possibly escape their notice? In fact, each of them held certain feelings toward Zhang Jiaohua. But expecting modern women like them to all marry the same man was something nearly impossible. They all had deep affection for Zhang Jiaohua, but none of them had ever considered sharing him with others.
“Mei Qing, Jiaxin, Xiaoting, the three of you aren’t young anymore. Do you have someone in your hearts? Tell Aunt Liu. If you’re too embarrassed to say, Aunt Liu can help speak for you,” Liu Qiaoye began. She could not possibly just say outright: I know what all of you are thinking. Why not all just marry my son? That would save trouble and avoid emotional strain for everyone.
“Aunt Liu, as cultivators, our lifespans are extremely long. Even though I’m nearly thirty now, in terms of our lifespan, that’s still practically childhood. So I’m not in a hurry regarding emotional matters. You should ask Dr. Mei — she’s a little older than we are,” Xu Xiaoting replied.
Mei Qing shot back immediately, “Xiaoting, I think you’re the anxious one. You were just saying our lifespans are long. My cultivation is higher than yours, and I am more likely to break through to Refining Spirit and Returning to Void. Once I break through, my lifespan will be greatly extended. My current age is comparable to an infant’s.”
Ji Jiaxin couldn’t help laughing. “You two teenage classmates, stop quarreling. Let’s just be honest with Aunt Liu. Aunt Liu, we all understand your intention. The three of us do like Jiaohua. But we are modern women — we can only accept monogamy. As for who Jiaohua will choose, none of us will force him. Right now, we’ve just entered the Immortal Realm, and there are many things waiting for us. Whether humanity can gain a foothold in the Immortal Realm depends entirely on Meishan Sect. And Meishan Sect needs all of us to unite as one. This is truly not the right time to deal with relationships.”
Liu Qiaoye smiled awkwardly. “I know, I know, I am being greedy. Each one of you — I am very satisfied with you all. It’s just that I only have this one son. I truly wish we could all become one family.”
“Auntie, why don’t you just adopt us as daughters instead? Then we would all be one family,” Mei Qing suggested.
“That won’t do! Jiaohua would blame me,” Liu Qiaoye quickly shook her head.
Over the next several years, Zhang Jiaohua traveled back and forth between the Immortal Realm and the Human Realm, merging their technologies and continually bringing rare cultivation resources from the Immortal Realm back to Earth.
Through the dream-game training system, large numbers of cultivation geniuses were selected. With sufficient spiritual resources, their cultivation advances soared, pushing Earth into a new golden age of Daoist arts. The fusion of Daoist cultivation and advanced technology gave birth to entirely new technological forms. Gene optimization of ordinary humans accelerated, lifespans increased dramatically, and their descendants became stronger and healthier. Cultivation geniuses appeared in ever-growing numbers — a chain reaction of progress.
In less than ten years, Earth produced tens of thousands of Refining Spirit / Returning to Void experts, and cultivators at the Refining Qi / Transforming Spirit stage numbered in the millions. Zhang Jiaohua’s cultivation diagram reached its peak — he could feel that his state of mind was about to break through the final barrier. The mortal world was becoming increasingly unsuitable for him.
“It is time to open the Immortal Realm transmission array.”
Zhang Jiaohua gathered the core members of the Meishan Sect.
“Everyone, we have prepared for many years. It is time to open the gate to the Immortal Realm. Once the portal opens, if anything unexpected occurs, stay calm and respond exactly as we’ve trained. We must prevent the Human Realm from suffering heavy impact.”
“Jiaohua, don’t worry,” Zhang Yuanbao said. “The strength of Meishan Sect today far surpasses the former Three Great Sacred Lands. And with cultivation technology, even if a powerful beast comes through the portal, we can handle it.”
Kong Fangzhou nodded. “Most of our core members are at least Returning-to-Void. We even have several late-stage experts. And you, Sect Master, are already at the peak of the Returning-to-Void stage. With tech enhancements, even if we face a Transcending Unity realm immortal beast, we may still have a chance to fight.”
“I’m not saying we cannot win — only that we must be prepared for everything,” Zhang Jiaohua replied.
Chen Dianzi nodded. “The moment the portal opens, we’ll activate the mountain-guarding grand array. Even if something comes through, once caught inside the array, we can eliminate it.”
“Then it is settled. Starting now, activate all Meishan Sect protective arrays and prepare for all possible threats.”
Orders were issued — hidden sect lands vanished, mysterious phenomena appeared worldwide, and anyone attempting to photograph them soon found Meishan Sect security forces arriving on the scene.
Zhang Jiaohua led the core forces to the opening site of the portal. Meishan special teams positioned themselves at all array nodes.
“Activate the transmission array!” Zhang Jiaohua shouted.
The buried sacred mountain rose once more from beneath the desert sands, floating into the sky — a miraculous sight.
Rumble.
The transmission platform atop the mountain appeared. Flying vessels carried the group to the platform, where they landed slowly.
Zhang Jiaohua placed spirit stones into the grooves. A brilliant light flared — forming a shining gateway.
ROAR!
The moment the portal opened, a thunderous beast’s roar echoed from beyond.
“Do not panic! Quickly — battle team, through the portal!” Zhang Jiaohua commanded urgently.
Leading the charge, he stepped into the Immortal Realm.
The moment he arrived, a colossal beast blocked his path.
The Meishan elite battle group instantly surrounded him.
“Prepare for battle!” Zhang Jiaohua shouted.
