“Jiaohua, what are you doing? Just now, I saw Chen Cheng coming here with you. Where is she?” Chen Dianzi, for some unknown reason, had also come to the mountain opposite.

“She’s taking a bath.” Zhang Jiaohua turned his head to look and saw Chen Cheng and Tang Yan had already jumped into the pool. Like two pure white mermaids, they were swimming gracefully in the water.

Hearing this, Chen Dianzi’s temper flared instantly. “Jiaohua! If I don’t dig out your two dog eyes today, I won’t be worthy of the surname Chen!”

With that, Chen Dianzi lunged forward.

“Chen Dianzi, you want to take my surname Zhang? I’m afraid you’d ruin the reputation of us Zhangs!” Zhang Jiaohua wasn’t one to back down from Chen Dianzi.

Chen Dianzi thought Zhang Jiaohua had been peeking at Chen Cheng bathing. Meanwhile, Zhang Jiaohua assumed Chen Dianzi was here deliberately to cause trouble for him.

The old and the young immediately started fighting. In terms of physical skills, the two were evenly matched. Neither of them even considered using their Meishan magic. For the Meishan water sorcerers, exchanging fists was no big deal, but if it escalated to a magical duel, it would become an irreconcilable conflict.

“Chen Dianzi, your wife is here! Tsk tsk, she looks as young as your daughter. Better watch out for that green hat!” Zhang Jiaohua, having been tricked and suffered losses by Chen Dianzi last time, decided to mess with his focus this time.

“Jiaohua, you’re still too green to play mind games with me. Even if Zhang Youping came himself, I’d still beat you up today.” Chen Dianzi said.

“Let’s see who beats who!” Zhang Jiaohua chuckled.

“Chen Shunsheng! Fighting a kid, aren’t you afraid of being laughed at?” came a woman’s voice from the Chen family on the opposite mountain.

Hearing this voice, Chen Dianzi’s expression immediately changed. His punches and kicks became chaotic, and Zhang Jiaohua seized the opening to knock him to the ground, pinning him down and raining punches.

“Jiaohua, not the face! Or I’ll fight you for real!” Chen Dianzi pleaded, his head spinning from the punches.

“Afraid of you?!” Zhang Jiaohua retorted, swinging his fists left and right across Chen Dianzi’s face, hitting him until he was seeing stars.

“Stop, stop!” The woman, who was Chen Fang, Chen Dianzi’s newly remarried wife, rushed over to intervene when she saw her husband being pummeled. She grabbed Zhang Jiaohua.

Zhang Jiaohua shouted angrily, “You two bullying a kid? Shameless!”

Chen Fang blushed. “I was trying to stop the fight.”

Chen Cheng and Tang Yan, already dressed, ran over.

“Why are you two fighting again?” Chen Cheng asked.

“Ask this brat. When I arrived, he was peeking at you two bathing!” Chen Dianzi, battered and bruised, was still furious.

“You’re full of crap! I was standing guard for them. You came sneaking around trying to peek, and when I stopped you, you wanted to fight me,” Zhang Jiaohua countered, mixing truth and fiction to frame Chen Dianzi.

Their reckless accusations left the three women with splitting headaches. If word got out in Meizi’ao, it would cause chaos.

“Both of you, shut up!” Tang Yan bellowed.

She had a powerful voice, and her outburst left both Zhang Jiaohua and Chen Dianzi dumbfounded.

“Dad, why don’t you get the facts straight? We asked Jiaohua to bring us here. When we changed into our swimsuits, we had him stand guard. We were swimming in the Falling Star Pool fully clothed. What’s the big deal?” Chen Cheng explained.

“See? Sister Chen Cheng knew you’d try to peek, so she had me stand guard,” Zhang Jiaohua smugly added, only to let out a yelp as Tang Yan pinched his ear. “Ow!”

“Didn’t I tell you to stay quiet? You’re always up to no good,” Tang Yan scolded.

“Exactly! This brat’s nothing but trouble. When I came over, I saw him looking toward the pool. He must have been peeking,” Chen Dianzi lied shamelessly, despite having been spotted by Zhang Jiaohua upon arrival.

Chen Fang pinched Chen Dianzi, making him grimace in pain. “Quit spouting nonsense. He’s just a kid! You’re always stirring up trouble. I told you to stop wandering around, but you never listen. If this keeps up, I’ll move back to the city and leave you to fend for yourself!”

“Don’t! I’ll do whatever you say.” Chen Dianzi instantly caved, much to the amusement of Chen Cheng and Tang Yan.

“See? Even the kids are watching,” Chen Dianzi said awkwardly.

“Oh, now you care about the kids watching? What about when you were fighting with Jiaohua?” Chen Fang glared at him.

Zhang Jiaohua laughed. “Chen Dianzi, your wife really keeps you in line.”

“Jiaohua, I’ll tell your mother what you did to him!” Chen Fang threatened.

“And last time when he beat me, why didn’t you say anything? Besides, you two ganged up on me just now. I’ll tell my parents when I get back!” Zhang Jiaohua pouted.

Tang Yan reached for his ear again, but Zhang Jiaohua dodged this time.

“You’re a grown man fighting a kid. What were you thinking?” Chen Fang scolded, exasperated, before venting her frustration on Chen Dianzi.

“Actually, I came to ask Jiaohua something. But I thought he was peeking at Chen Cheng, so we started fighting,” Chen Dianzi admitted, embarrassed.

“What do you need him for?” Chen Fang, Chen Cheng, and Tang Yan were all curious.

“It’s nothing you’d understand. Jiaohua, come with me,” Chen Dianzi said, pulling Zhang Jiaohua along.

“You two better not fight again!” Chen Fang called after them.

“I just need to talk to him,” Chen Dianzi replied with a grin.

“Fight? I’m not afraid of you,” Zhang Jiaohua retorted.

“Afraid of you?!” Chen Dianzi shot back.

“Then let’s fight again!” Zhang Jiaohua raised his fists.

“I have serious business with you!” Chen Dianzi barely restrained himself.

“You, serious business?!” Zhang Jiaohua scoffed.

“Jiaohua, you really have a punchable face,” Chen Dianzi snapped.

“Look who’s talking!” Zhang Jiaohua shot back.

Realizing he wouldn’t win the argument, Chen Dianzi changed the subject. “Fine. I came to ask about the tomb. What are you planning to do? That tomb is a corpse-rearing site. If what’s inside gets out, the people of Meizi’ao are in trouble.”

“That’s not right. The thing inside was already killed by those tomb raiders. Six of them died over it, and one of them even used a magical artifact to unleash a sword aura that cut the thing in half,” Zhang Jiaohua recounted what he had heard from Fat Cat.

“Impossible! Something from a corpse-rearing site wouldn’t die so easily,” Chen Dianzi insisted, shaking his head repeatedly.
