The fat cat led several black cat leaders and quietly entered the tomb chamber.

The arrival of the two big bosses, He Shouye and Long Wuyi, made their subordinates extremely nervous. Along the way, they proceeded cautiously.

However, Bai Daxian and Wang Zhenren didn’t take these two bosses seriously. While the bosses might pay them, they didn’t care about the modest compensation. Their involvement in this venture wasn’t for the decent pay; they were after something else. He Shouye and Long Wuyi had their ways of obtaining information about this tomb, but Bai and Wang had their own means of uncovering its secrets.

Zhang Jiaohua seemed distracted. He was constantly monitoring the situation inside the tomb, which prevented him from fully focusing on the filming process.

“Cut!” Director Lin Jianming frowned.

Tang Yan hurried over. “Jiaohua, what’s wrong with you today? You’re totally out of it!”

“I don’t know either.” Zhang Jiaohua scratched his head.

“Director Lin, how about we skip this scene for now? This kid has been filming for so long; maybe he’s just tired,” Tang Yan suggested to Lin Jianming.

“Fine, let him take a break and adjust. This state won’t do. We’re on a tight schedule here. At this rate, who knows when we’ll finish filming?” Lin Jianming’s mood was sour. He somewhat regretted accepting Tang Yan’s suggestion to add such a character to the film.

“Tang Yan, Jiaohua has actually made a lot of progress these past few days. After all, it’s his first time acting in a movie, so it’s natural he’s still adapting,” Tang Yan quickly explained.

Chen Cheng approached Zhang Jiaohua and lightly knocked on his head. “What’s with you? You were doing great yesterday. Why are you so out of it today?”

“Don’t hit my head! If I stop growing, I’ll blame you,” Zhang Jiaohua complained.

“Jiaohua, if you perform well, how about letting Chen Cheng be your girlfriend?” Tang Yan teased with a laugh.

Zhang Jiaohua glanced at Chen Cheng and replied, “No way. Her dad, Old Chen, would nag me to death.”

“Hahaha!” Tang Yan burst into laughter. “So, if her dad didn’t bother you, you’d be okay with it?”

“Sister Yan, don’t joke like that. I’m a generation older than him,” Chen Cheng said, both amused and exasperated.

“So what? You’re not directly related. Distant family ties don’t mean anything. What do you think, Jiaohua?” Tang Yan said seriously.

“No way! Sister Chen Cheng is way older than me,” Zhang Jiaohua quickly shook his head.

“Dream on. Older women are golden treasures!” Tang Yan teased, laughing uncontrollably at Zhang Jiaohua’s serious expression.

“No, that’s not it. Sister Chen Cheng would need a lot of golden treasures!” Zhang Jiaohua exclaimed, flustered.

Chen Cheng glared at Zhang Jiaohua. “Do I look that old to you?”

Inside the tomb chamber, the group’s footsteps echoed unevenly, making it easier for the fat cat and its companions to follow them unnoticed. They even brazenly trailed just behind.

“How much further?” He Shouye paused.

“Almost there,” Sun Lei replied hastily. “Just around the corner. But this tomb chamber is strange. What kind of tomb leaves such a large entrance? Was it built to make it easier for tomb robbers?”

“You don’t get it. Large tombs like this were constructed while the owner was still alive. Without an entrance, how would they bring the coffin in? After the owner’s death, the coffin would be placed in the main chamber, and a sealing stone would block the entrance. Breaking in afterward is no small feat. Sometimes, tomb builders also created escape routes to avoid being silenced by the tomb owner. But this path isn’t likely one of those escape routes,” He Shouye explained smugly.

“Old Four, judging by this setup, the tomb owner must’ve been significant,” Long Wuyi observed, shining his flashlight around.

“Of course, or why would you both come in person?” He Shouye chuckled.

The fat cat followed closely but slowed its pace as they moved forward. It sensed a deadly threat ahead. However, the humans were chatting and laughing as they walked, leaving the fat cat puzzled: Why are they so cheerful when heading to their doom?

Despite its doubts, the fat cat pressed on. With so many humans around, they could act as shields. Even if danger arose, it was confident it could escape faster than them.

Before long, Sun Lei stopped. “Fourth Master, the path is completely blocked ahead.”

The tomb’s entrance had been sealed for years, and no one knew when or how it happened.

“This must’ve been a powerful explosion,” He Shouye mused, examining the weathered bricks. “Back then, only officials could’ve had access to such potent gunpowder. But why would they come to this tomb?”

“Old Four, you’re not a professor. Stop overthinking it. Just dig through and find out,” Long Wuyi said bluntly.

He Shouye ordered Sun Lei to start clearing the rubble. Meanwhile, the fat cat retreated and reported its findings to Zhang Jiaohua, who was anxiously waiting.

“Is something dangerous hidden in that soil?” Zhang Jiaohua asked. The fat cat nodded.

Just then, the rubble shifted. Something beneath the soil was stirring. Panic broke out as the team scrambled to retreat. Before they could make sense of the situation, a loud boom echoed—the unknown entity was about to emerge.
