After finishing his morning practice, Zhang Wenrong heard Chen Dianzhi singing loudly at the top of Meishan.

“Chen Dianzhi’s gone completely mad,” Zhang Wenrong chuckled.

“Always acting crazy, it’s hard to believe he’s a water master,” Zhang Hanggou shook his head.

“Exactly, he just seems like a lunatic,” Zhang Jiagen dried his hair with a towel.

Zhang Jiaohua glanced up the mountain. “You’d better not say these things in front of him. If you provoke him, you’ll be the ones who suffer. I’m not as skilled in Meishan magic as he is, but he’s reckless and meddlesome. This time, he’s likely encountered trouble. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be going mad at Meishan.”

Zhang Jiaohua seemed to have an intuition that Chen Dianzhi had met with misfortune.

Since it wasn’t yet time for breakfast, Zhang Wenrong took Zhang Hanggou and Zhang Jiagen to gather pig feed. The wild boar piglets were growing quickly, and their food intake was increasing. Unfortunately, the pig feed in the garden hadn’t yet grown; the sweet potato vines were still short, and cutting them now would affect future yields. The milk grass had just started growing, and Zhang Wenrong decided to wait until it reached its full height before harvesting it for the wild boars.

With time on their hands, Zhang Jiaohua didn’t rush to school. He blew a whistle, and soon, the mountain leopard arrived with a neatly arranged group of large and small dogs. The small dogs led the way, with the large dogs following behind in formation, like a well-organized parade. They barked continuously, and Zhang Jiaohua almost wished he could have them call out in roll call.

Zhang Jiaohua took out several red triangular flags marked with strange symbols in yellow dye. These were special array flags used to command spirit beasts in arranging large formations. By waving these flags, Zhang Jiaohua could make the spirit beasts form various formations for offense or defense, with limitless uses.

Although these mountain dogs had been tamed for a long time and had great potential, their tactical training was still lacking. They had never been trained to form an array under Zhang Jiaohua’s flags. Combining these dogs into a formation would create immense power. The thought of using mountain dogs in a formation was intimidating.

Zhang Jiaohua combined the Dog Transformation Spell, the Iron Wall City Spell, and the Heavenly Net Spell into a single sweeping mountain dog formation. This was a spontaneous idea he had. Without a formation to coordinate them, the dogs couldn’t fully utilize their immense power. Zhang Jiaohua’s understanding of these spells allowed him to combine them innovatively. While he might not fully grasp the meanings of the spells, he could intuitively merge their cores.

As Zhang Jiaohua chanted the spell, he waved different flags, directing the mountain dogs to set up various formations. Initially, although the dogs responded to the spell’s power, their coordination was somewhat clumsy. But as they became more accustomed to Zhang Jiaohua’s commands, they began to move in perfect harmony, like extensions of his will.

With forty-three mountain dogs in total, including the mountain leopard as the central figure, the remaining forty-two dogs continually adjusted their formation. Despite their youth, the dogs performed in the formation almost as well as adult mountain dogs. They showed even greater potential for development and were nearly as intelligent as the older dogs. Their coordination in the formation was surprisingly adept, though their strength was still lacking.

The formation of over forty dogs displayed an imposing grandeur, reminiscent of a vast army. If the garden were transformed into a mountain, these dogs could potentially sweep through any mountain.

Zhang Jiaohua wasn’t just whimsically training these dogs; he felt a sense of urgency. Although the threat from Dui Men Shan hadn’t yet appeared, Zhang Jiaohua knew he would inevitably face it. He needed to be prepared for any situation.

The proximity of Dui Men Shan to Meizitang meant that peaceful coexistence was impossible. Given the conflict between Zhang Jiaohua and the threat, confrontation was unavoidable.

The forty-plus mountain dogs were Zhang Jiaohua’s greatest asset. As long as they were well-trained, he believed he could face any threat without fear.

Chen Dianzhi’s early morning song at Meishan wasn’t just idleness; it was a signal to Zhang Jiaohua that Chen Dianzhi was either giving up or admitting failure. Though others might not understand, Zhang Jiaohua could interpret the message.

After completing the sweeping mountain dog formation practice, Zhang Jiaohua waved the flag to end the formation. The dogs immediately collapsed, exhausted. The formation couldn’t even be maintained for half an hour, which concerned Zhang Jiaohua.

“This formation is good, but it consumes too much energy. I can’t maintain it for long,” Zhang Jiaohua said, shaking his head.
