PCJ – Chapter 222 Raising Wild Boars

As soon as Zhang Jiaohua heard Zhang Jiwang mention raising wild boars, his eyes lit up. Although he now had a large sum of money, he absolutely couldn’t spend it openly at the moment. He had already spent some money repairing the pigsty, claiming that it was borrowed from Luo Changjun. Zhang Manyin was already very worried. People in rural areas dread borrowing money. Carrying debt is like carrying a shackle, and it brings a bad reputation. If he were to use the excuse of borrowing money again to take out some money from the box to raise pigs, it would definitely attract more attention.

But if he could bring back wild boar litters from the mountains and raise them, he wouldn’t have these troubles. Wild boar litters cost nothing! While others might need skills to raise wild boars, Zhang Jiaohua, being a Meishan water master, naturally had the means to keep wild boars alive.

“Grandpa Jiwang, do you also think raising wild boars is a good idea?” Zhang Jiaohua asked seriously.

Zhang Jiwang laughed, “Jiaohua, you’re not really thinking of raising wild boars, are you? I was just talking casually. Wild boars are very wild; I’m not sure your pigsty can contain them.”

“It can hold them. Do you think if I raise wild boars, I can make a lot of money?” Zhang Jiaohua was concerned about making money.

“Well, if you can raise them, then of course. City folks love wild game. Wild boar is more expensive than domestic pig.” Zhang Jiwang stated the truth. At that time, the price of wild game was gradually increasing. However, they overlooked that wild animals are protected by the state and cannot be hunted and eaten at will.

“I’m sure I can raise them. Tomorrow, I’ll go into the mountains to find some wild boar litters.” Zhang Jiaohua had made up his mind.

Zhang Jiwang regretted mentioning wild boars to Zhang Jiaohua, smiling awkwardly, “Jiaohua, I was just talking casually, don’t take it seriously. If your grandpa asks who told you to raise wild boars, don’t say it was me.”

“Why wouldn’t I say it? This is a good thing. If I make money raising wild boars, I’ll have you to thank.” Zhang Jiaohua laughed.

“No, just don’t blame me later.” Zhang Jiwang was both amused and helpless. What he intended as a joke, Zhang Jiaohua took seriously.

Zhang Jiaohua was full of enthusiasm and went up the mountain early the next morning.

Gong Ziyuan noticed Zhang Jiaohua’s empty seat, which had become a common sight, but still couldn’t help asking, “Zhang Genban, why isn’t Zhang Jiaohua here today?”

Dumb thought Gong Ziyuan was calling someone else since his name was rarely used. Gong Ziyuan never called him by his name, so he wasn’t very familiar with it. He looked around blankly, and the whole class burst into laughter. Gong Ziyuan couldn’t help but laugh at Dumb’s reaction, finally walking over to him, “I’m talking to you. Have you forgotten your own name?”

“Oh. Jiaohua went to the mountains to catch wild boars. He said he wanted to raise them.” Dumb said, recalling what Zhang Jiaohua told him that morning when he urged him to go to school.

Gong Ziyuan shook his head regretfully, “Classmates, we are children of the countryside. To leave the farm life behind, we must work harder than city kids. If we waste our precious learning time, we’ll be stuck in this mountain village for life. Each of us should leave this place and see the better world outside.”

Gong Ziyuan was frustrated with Zhang Jiaohua but knew he was very determined and wouldn’t be swayed by his opinion. Convincing Zhang Jiaohua to return to class and study seriously was no easy task. Moreover, Zhang Jiaohua found the classroom lessons too simple.

Zhang Jiaohua took Zuan Shanbao and fifteen mountain dogs into Meishan Mountain. Though the dogs were grown, they were well-trained at the police dog base. While not as robust as Zuan Shanbao, they were superior to ordinary mountain dogs. Recently, after Zhang Jiaohua’s training, they had improved greatly in fitness and agility. They looked more imposing, capable of facing large wolves without flinching.

Previously, Zhang Jiaohua feared encountering wild boars and later dreaded facing big wolves in Meishan. Now, he had the confidence to confront them directly. He left Dogwa and Mancang to guard the house and took Jinhu, Fugui, and Xiaoshuan to confront the wolves. He prepared tungsten steel spears for Jinhu, Fugui, and Xiaoshuan, ready to use soul transformation to attack the wolf king. Defeating the wolf king would cause the pack to collapse, but ideally, he wanted to avoid conflict and just capture some wild boar litters.

With Zuan Shanbao leading, finding the wild boars’ lair wasn’t difficult. Jinhu, Xiaoshuan, and Fugui took positions around the area with spears, ensuring no wolves could ambush them.

“Disciple leaves the house, bowing to the ancestral masters, protecting and transforming my body into an extraordinary form, merging with the essence of Meishan. I invoke the Supreme Lord Laozi, obey my command!” Zhang Jiaohua cast a transformation spell, becoming the mountain god of Meishan, aware of every movement. He could hear every rustle, animal sound, and movement, feeling as if he saw and heard everything firsthand. The sensation was marvelous.

Then he cast the dog transformation spell: “Transform dogs into dragons, golden, silver, celestial, and terrestrial dragons. Call the dogs to bark, the dragons to roar. Search the front and back of the mountains, through clouds and obstacles, scouting all of Meishan for wild boar litters. I invoke the Supreme Lord Laozi, obey my command!”

The fifteen mountain dogs rushed out like fierce dragons, their barks echoing everywhere. The power was tenfold, a hundredfold stronger than when Zuan Shanbao was alone.

Meishan suddenly became like boiling water, with birds and beasts fleeing in panic.

A hare darted out of its burrow, crashing into a tree in its frenzy and knocking itself out.

A pheasant flew out of the underbrush, crashing into a chestnut tree’s dense leaves, struggling to free itself, and wobbling through the sky, nearly crashing in a rare bird collision.

Two sparrows collided in midair, marking Meishan’s first aerial traffic accident of the year.
