“Isn’t this the match factory? Right, Miao Xinghe seemed to have been a worker at the match factory before. Later, he took unpaid leave. I don’t know how he got rich. This year, he opened a game arcade in town.” Luo Changjun, riding a motorcycle with Zhang Jiaohua, followed Zuan Shanbao into a factory. He couldn’t help but mutter.

“Woof woof woof…”

Suddenly, Zuan Shanbao started barking violently ahead.

“We’ve found the thief!” Luo Changjun showed a joyful expression.

Zhang Jiaohua remained calm, “Not necessarily. Shanbao only smelled this person’s scent at the crime scene. But it’s not necessarily the thief.”

“How do you know? Can you understand the dog’s barking?” Luo Changjun looked at Zhang Jiaohua strangely.

Zhang Jiaohua shook his head, “I can’t understand the dog’s barking. But I know Shanbao’s intentions.”

Alright, no science again. Luo Changjun somewhat dejectedly accepted the fact.

“Where did this stray dog come from! If you bark again, I’ll eat your dog meat today!” The person targeted by Shanbao said fiercely.

“Woof woof woof…” He was greeted with a series of frantic barks. Shanbao wasn’t afraid of his threats.

Luo Changjun quickly sped up and soon reached the place where Shanbao was barking. Luo Changjun already felt that this person’s voice was familiar. When he got there, he showed a face of realization. Because that person was Miao Xinghe, whose home had been burglarized.

“Miao Xinghe, what are you doing here? Is there something you haven’t explained clearly at the police station?” Luo Changjun shouted. Miao Xinghe seemed ready to run.

“If you dare to run a step, believe it or not, I’ll break your leg!” Luo Changjun actually pulled out his gun, but it wasn’t loaded. He just aimed it at Miao Xinghe.

Miao Xinghe immediately knelt down, shouting loudly, “Report to the government, spare my life!”

Miao Xinghe’s reaction puzzled Luo Changjun. Only those who’ve been in prison love to shout these words. What’s up with Miao Xinghe? Luo Changjun didn’t remember Miao Xinghe having a criminal record. But if Miao Xinghe had committed a crime elsewhere and was directly sentenced without notifying Gezhuping Town, there might indeed be no record here. It’s also possible he had been reformed through labor or forcibly detained. This was quite common. Sometimes without an ID or temporary residence permit outside, one might be directly detained. Nominally called detention, it’s practically similar to labor reform. Luo Changjun, being in the public security system, was well aware of this.

“Stand up. I don’t want your life, but if you dare to run, I want to see whether you run faster or the bullet.” Luo Changjun always aimed the gun at Miao Xinghe, making him tremble all over.

“I won’t run, I won’t run.” Miao Xinghe’s eyes occasionally glanced at the two-story dormitory nearby.

How could Luo Changjun miss Miao Xinghe’s actions? “Honestly, what are you doing here?”

“Nothing, nothing. Didn’t I just lose money? I came to collect debts from some coworkers.” Miao Xinghe’s eyes dodged, not daring to meet Luo Changjun’s.

“Boss Miao, even if you lost more money, would your family be so poor that you need to come to collect debts immediately? Are you here to find your lost money?” Luo Changjun sneered coldly.

Miao Xinghe looked at Luo Changjun in surprise, obviously shocked that Luo Changjun guessed correctly.

“Wondering how I knew your purpose here? I’ll tell you, if you don’t want people to know, don’t do it! At the police station, I already noticed you were acting weird.” Luo Changjun said.

“Woof woof woof…” Just as Luo Changjun was about to continue questioning Miao Xinghe, Zuan Shanbao suddenly barked fiercely. At some point, Zuan Shanbao was no longer near them.

“Thief! Shanbao found the thief!” Zhang Jiaohua naturally understood the information Shanbao conveyed.

“You wait here! I’ll deal with you later!” Luo Changjun quickly started the motorcycle and rushed to where Zuan Shanbao was barking.

“Ah!” A scream sounded, “I’ll beat you to death! Beat you to death!”

It was clear that the thief had been bitten by Zuan Shanbao and was also fighting back.

“Hurry up.” Zhang Jiaohua was afraid Zuan Shanbao would get hurt and urged Luo Changjun to speed up.

Luo Changjun was also anxious; he couldn’t let Zhang Jiaohua’s dog get injured. He could see how important Zuan Shanbao was to Zhang Jiaohua. Moreover, the dog’s tracking ability was so strong. In the future, if something happened in town, they could seek Zhang Jiaohua’s help. He found Zuan Shanbao to be more effective than police dogs. If not for finding dog puppies for Zhang Jiaohua, Luo Changjun wouldn’t have needed to go to Zijiang City.

“Ah! Ow!” The person screamed terribly, indicating another bite from Zuan Shanbao.

“Clang clang…”

Then came a series of metal pipe collisions hitting the ground.

Luo Changjun rode the motorcycle around a corner and arrived at the other end of the dormitory building. The dormitory entrance was there. Zuan Shanbao was confronting a man. This man was about the same age as Miao Xinghe, around thirty. He was lying on the ground, and a one-meter-long iron water pipe lay not far from him. Zuan Shanbao’s fur stood on end, its eyes glaring at the man, ready to bite his ankle at any movement.

Luo Changjun drove the motorcycle to the man, quickly jumped off, propped the bike up, and then pounced on the man, pulling out handcuffs and cuffing the man.

“What’s your name?” Luo Changjun asked loudly.

“What are you doing? I didn’t do anything. Why are you arresting me?” The man asked loudly, but he lacked confidence.

“Whether you did anything isn’t for you to decide! What’s your name?” Luo Changjun, truly fiery, habitually pulled out his gun and directly shoved it into the man’s mouth, “If you babble another word, I’ll blow your brains out!”

“No no no, I’ll say, I’ll say.” The man immediately yielded.

“Hurry up and say it!” Luo Changjun glared.

The man, cowering, quickly said, “My name is Wu Shunrong.”

“Who else went to Miao Xinghe’s house to steal with you?” Luo Changjun asked harshly.

“And… I didn’t do anything!” Wu Shunrong almost slipped up but quickly corrected himself.

“Take me to your dorm!” Luo Changjun smiled coldly. Wasn’t this like the silver being hidden here?

“I didn’t do anything, why are you arresting me?” Wu Shunrong was flustered.

“Wu Shunrong, if you confess now, it can still be considered surrendering. Then the punishment can be lighter. If you reveal your accomplice, it can be a meritorious performance. This theft was huge. If we clarify the case and you talk later, it will be meaningless.” Luo Changjun tried to break Wu Shunrong. He thought this theft case wasn’t simple.

“I really didn’t steal!” Wu Shunrong still tried to deny.

“Alright, I don’t need you to answer. Jiaohua, can you find his dorm?” Luo Changjun asked.

“Yes. He must have just come out of the dorm. Shanbao, find his room!” Zhang Jiaohua patted Zuan Shanbao’s head.

Zuan Shanbao thought finding the criminal was the end, but it turned out it had to work more.

Wu Shunrong had just run out of the dorm empty-handed. The loot must have been hidden in the dorm. He just came out, so his scent was intact, making it easy for Zuan Shanbao to find his dorm.

The dorm door was locked, and Luo Changjun glared at Wu Shunrong, “Open the door!”

“You don’t have a search warrant, why search my room?” Wu Shunrong started to get nervous. Seeing his expression, Luo Changjun, uninterested in arguing, kicked the door open.

Zuan Shanbao rushed in and went straight to a bed, barking continuously under it.

Wu Shunrong’s face changed drastically, struggling to escape. But Luo Changjun had anticipated this and yanked him into the room.

“Why run? Didn’t you say you didn’t steal? What’s under your bed?” Luo Changjun lifted the bed, revealing layers of large bundles of cash, thinly spread with a cover.

“This money was saved from working in Guangdong. Not stolen!” Wu Shunrong immediately lied.

“Do you think you can get away? The iron box with money hidden in the woods has your fingerprints. You crossed the river and walked back to town from Baixi Bridge, thinking it would fool everyone? You left footprints at the ferry. You can’t escape. Confess now and make up for it; when sentenced, it can be lighter. Miao Xinghe’s wife said they lost forty to fifty thousand. You only have half here, where’s the rest?” Luo Changjun sorted the money, counted it, and bundled it up.

“I’m alone. Only stole this much from Miao Xinghe’s house. He must have exaggerated to get the police to solve the case quickly.” Wu Shunrong refused to name his accomplice.

“Your accomplice must be a family member, right?” Luo Changjun sneered. Wu Shunrong was still lying at this juncture, and it was obvious that he was unwilling to reveal the person. Maybe it was his family.

Wu Shunrong immediately panicked, “No, no.” Luo Changjun smiled and ignored Luo Shunrong, “Jiaohua, can you find his accomplice?”

Zhang Jiaohua patted Shanbao’s head and muttered, “Let’s go.”<

Shanbao immediately took Luo Changjun and Zhang Jiaohua to another place.<

Wu Shunrong had such a big incident, and the workers living in the dormitory of the match factory came to watch the fun. Many people pointed fingers at Wu Shunrong. But no one stood up to expose Wu Shunrong’s accomplice.
