It was a little after eight in the evening. Night had fallen, and the entire village was silent.
Xiao Wange tucked little Jin Zhao into bed, and once he was asleep, she quietly slipped out and went to the courtyard wall.
To the right lived Xu Meifeng’s family, to the left was Bai Caixuan’s family. Tonight, she had to pay Xu Meifeng a little “visit.”
Standing under the right-hand wall, she glanced upward, then leapt gracefully onto the top.
Though she had crossed into another world and this body was no longer her own, her skills had not disappeared. After all, such abilities belonged to the soul, not the flesh.
Fortunately, she still had them—otherwise it would have been hard to “visit” Xu Meifeng tonight.
She perched on the wall and looked toward Xu Meifeng’s main hall.
The lights were still on inside, and voices drifted out—it seemed the whole family was holding a meeting.
Xiao Wange’s eyes glinted. From her pocket she pulled out some small wooden chips she had carved before dinner. On each one, she had drawn talismanic symbols.
Curling her lips, she flicked her wrist and hurled the chips one after another around Xu Meifeng’s house.
The chips should have made noise hitting the ground, yet not a sound was heard—no one could tell how she managed it.
When all twelve landed, a strange formation quickly took shape.
Arching her brow slightly, Xiao Wange dropped down into Xu Meifeng’s yard.
Her steps were light, her manner calm, as she walked toward the hall.
Inside, no one realized an intruder had come. They were still heatedly discussing something—about none other than Xiao Wange herself.
Xu Meifeng snapped:
“Old man, say something! Give me an idea—how should we deal with that slut Xiao Wange? If I don’t punish her properly, I’ll never swallow this anger!”
Just remembering how she had lost face because of Xiao Wange today, she wanted to grab a cleaver and carve the woman up next door.
Xu Meifeng’s husband was in his fifties, slightly stout, with small eyes. His face looked honest, but those who knew him understood that honesty was just a disguise. Deep down… he was a petty, treacherous man.
Zhan Songbai puffed on his pipe, tapped it against the chair arm, and frowned:
“Let’s wait a few days. The village head and branch secretary are watching us right now. This isn’t the right time to cause trouble for Xiao Wange.”
He hadn’t said to let her go—just that it wasn’t yet the moment to act.
Xu Meifeng gritted her teeth:
“So you mean later? And how, exactly?”
Her daughter Zhan Hongxin chimed in:
“Mom, that slut Xiao Wange often goes to town and to her mother’s house. We can ambush her on the road, throw a sack over her, and give her a good beating! Just don’t hit the face—only her stomach and chest. She won’t dare see a doctor for such injuries, and if she doesn’t, she can’t accuse us. She’ll have no choice but to suffer in silence.”
Zhan Hongxin was about the same age as Xiao Wange, but far less pretty. Xiao Wange had a delicate oval face; Zhan Hongxin had a broad square one, just like her mother.
Every time she stood next to Xiao Wange, jealousy burned in her heart. She longed to claw that beautiful face to pieces and ruin her looks.
So when she heard her mother and brother had been humiliated by Xiao Wange, she was eager to storm next door. But even she knew the timing was wrong. To deal with Xiao Wange, they’d have to do it secretly.
“Mom, that plan will work,” Zhan Hongda’s wife, Qiu Xianghui, quickly agreed. She had always disliked Xiao Wange—today’s events only deepened her hatred, to the point that just hearing her name made her grit her teeth.
Zhan Hongda clenched his fists:
“I’ll be the one to hit her. I’ll beat her until she can’t stand!”
“Daddy, I want to hit her too!” Their seven-year-old son, Zhan Xiaoxiao, pumped his fists, face twisted in cruelty.
“She bullied you and Grandma. I’ll kill that slut!”
Though only a child, under Xu Meifeng and Zhan Hongda’s influence, he had already turned into a vicious brat—his expression as hateful as his grandmother’s.
Then he added:
“And that little bastard Zhan Jinzhao—he needs a beating too! If he won’t come live with us, we can’t get his father’s allowance. Without it, our family can’t live well. So we should beat him to death too!”
Outside, hearing this, Xiao Wange’s face turned ice-cold. A chilling sneer curled her lips.
This family—every last one of them rotten. Even their seven-year-old could spit out words like “slut” and call Zhao Zhao a bastard. Worse, he wanted to hit him.
That wasn’t just a brat—that was filth, a degenerate little wretch.
Her eyes flashed with frost. She strode into the hall, smiling coldly:
“Oh? You want to beat me and Zhao Zhao? Do you weaklings really have the ability?”
Everyone inside froze.
Xu Meifeng stared in shock, voice trembling:
“How did you get in here? How did you get into my house?!”
The gate was locked—had she climbed the wall? But it was over two meters high!
Xiao Wange walked to the center of the hall, raised her head slightly, and smirked:
“How I came in doesn’t matter. What matters is… tonight, you’re in for a disaster.”
“What?” Xu Meifeng shot to her feet, eyes blazing, ready to curse her.
But Xiao Wange suddenly rushed forward and kicked her hard, sending her sprawling:
“I said—you’re in for a disaster tonight. Hmph! Planning to sack me and beat my stomach and chest? Why don’t I let you taste that first?”
Xu Meifeng screamed in pain, curling up, glaring hatefully:
“You slut… you dare hit me?! You actually dare hit me!”
She turned toward her husband and son:
“What are you waiting for? Kill this slut!”
Zhan Songbai and Zhan Hongda were stunned at first, then lunged together.
But Xiao Wange barely lifted her leg twice—and both men were down on the floor like Xu Meifeng.
She sneered:
“I told you weaklings you don’t have what it takes.”
Zhan Hongda gritted his teeth, groaning as he tried to get up, but Xiao Wange gave him a swift kick to the stomach, flattening him again.
Seeing her husband beaten, Qiu Xianghui grabbed a wooden pole from the wall, shouting:
“Bitch, I’ll kill you!”
Her son cheered her on:
“Go, Mom! Kill her—kill that slut!”
Xiao Wange coldly watched the pole swing toward her. With one light movement, she snatched it away and swung it hard into Qiu Xianghui’s stomach.
“Ugh!” Qiu Xianghui doubled over, clutching her belly in pain.
Zhan Xiaoxiao shrieked:
“You hit my mom—I’ll kill you! Kill you, slut!” He jumped down from his chair, waving his little fists.
At the same time, Zhan Hongxin had grabbed a pair of scissors, lunging at Xiao Wange’s face:
“Die, Xiao Wange, die! I’ll ruin that pretty face of yours and make you the ugliest hag in ten villages!”
But neither child got close.
Xiao Wange flicked the pole. The scissors flew from Zhan Hongxin’s hand, the pole slamming into her stomach—she collapsed like her sister-in-law.
As for Zhan Xiaoxiao, he got several strikes across his backside. With each blow, Xiao Wange scolded:
“You dare call Zhao Zhao a bastard and want to hit him? I’ll teach you a lesson first!”
The boy bawled, wailing:
“She’s hitting me—this slut is hitting me!”
Xu Meifeng, seeing her beloved grandson beaten, cursed and tried to rise, while the others scrambled to their feet.
But Xiao Wange swung the pole swiftly into their stomachs again:
“You weaklings had better behave. Behave, and maybe I’ll show mercy and hit you less!”
The blows to their soft bellies made them howl in agony.
Xu Meifeng cried out at the top of her lungs:
“Help! Help! Xiao Wange is killing us! She wants to kill us! Somebody save us!”
Her house was less than two meters from the neighbor’s. Surely they would hear her cries.
If the neighbors came, not only would they be rescued, but they could accuse Xiao Wange publicly—say she broke in at night to commit murder. Then they’d have her sent to the police and charged with attempted homicide.
Zhan Songbai and Zhan Hongda instantly understood and began shouting too.
But Xiao Wange just looked at them coldly, mocking:
“Don’t bother yelling. Even if you scream your throats raw, no one will come to save you.”
