Afterward, Qian Yiwen started getting ready to go out. She wasn’t into makeup, so she only changed her outfit. But this time, unlike her usual casual style, she spent a long time deciding what to wear and even asked her roommate for advice.

“Hey, Lao Qian, you’re a goddess! Don’t let this cold, aloof Mu turn you into a bundle of nerves!” her roommate teased after watching her try on three outfits without being satisfied.

Qian Yiwen’s pretty face blushed slightly at her roommate’s comment, but she finally settled on the clothes Xiao Mu had helped her buy previously.

“Hmph, I remember you spending an entire morning doing makeup before meeting your ex-boyfriend, so don’t lecture me!” she quipped playfully.

“Okay, okay, let’s not bring that up! My current boyfriend would be so jealous if he heard about that.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t gossip. I’m heading out now. I know your boyfriend is coming over to the dorm tonight, so I won’t come back later. Bye!”

After exchanging a few playful remarks, Qian Yiwen waved and left the dorm. She greeted a few acquaintances on her way out and then hailed a taxi at the school gate.

The 4S dealership where she bought her car was some distance from the school. After about ten minutes, the taxi arrived at her destination.

“Thank you, driver. I’ve paid the fare online; please check.”

After confirming the payment, she got out of the taxi and stood in front of the dealership. “Xiao Na, what are you working on?” she teased.

“Yiwen? When did you get here?”

Xiao Na turned around, pleasantly surprised to see her old friend.

“I just arrived. I’m here with a friend who’s buying a car,” Qian Yiwen explained with a smile.

The two had been close friends in high school and kept in touch even after Xiao Na started working.

“Really? Such a good friend, bringing business my way. Where’s your friend?”

“Not here yet, but he’ll be here soon.”

“Haha, making the goddess Yiwen wait! Is it a guy or a girl?”

“Hmph, not telling you, you gossip!” Qian Yiwen replied playfully.

“Haha, the way you’re acting, it must be a guy. Is it your boyfriend?” Xiao Na teased.

The two chatted comfortably, as there weren’t any customers for Xiao Na to assist at the moment. After a few minutes, a pleasant, magnetic male voice came from behind them. Both turned around to see a tall, slim, and handsome young man – it was Xiao Mu.

“Xiao Mu, you’re here! This is my friend from high school,” Qian Yiwen said with a smile, introducing him.

“Hello,” Mu Bai greeted succinctly.

“Hello, nice to meet you,” Xiao Na responded quickly, slightly surprised by the young man’s appearance. She hadn’t expected such a youthful-looking person to be here to buy a luxury car. Most people his age were still in college, and it wasn’t common for someone so young to afford a BMW or Audi unless they came from a wealthy background.

Mu Bai glanced around at the cars on display before directly asking, “I’m looking for a high-end SUV that can handle various terrains. Do you have any recommendations?”

Xiao Na quickly regained her composure and responded professionally. “We have several SUV models from Audi and BMW. May I ask about your budget and whether you prioritize speed, power, or safety? Don’t worry, as Yiwen’s friend, I’ll make sure you get the best price.”

Mu Bai took a sip of the tea she handed him and calmly replied, “The main priority is safety and adaptability to different terrains. As for the price, that’s not an issue if the car is good.”

His casual remark about the price surprised several customers nearby. After all, for most people, the cost of a car was a significant consideration.

Xiao Na was taken aback as well, but she quickly collected herself and responded courteously, “In that case, may I suggest the BMW 7 Series Limited Edition? Its safety features are second only to an armored vehicle, and it can handle various road conditions. The price is around 2.6 to 2.7 million yuan, but I’ll need to confirm with the manager.”

She recommended the most expensive car in the store, half-expecting Mu Bai to show some hesitation or at least careful consideration, as most young people would when faced with such a hefty price tag. However, to her surprise, Mu Bai remained calm and unbothered, as if the price were trivial.

He waved off her offer to show him the car and said plainly, “No need to look at the car. If it’s new and in good condition, that’s fine. Just call your manager to confirm the price.”

Xiao Na was even more taken aback by his nonchalance. Typically, customers would at least want to inspect a car before making such a large purchase. She glanced over at Qian Yiwen for confirmation.

“Go ahead and call your manager. It’s fine,” Qian Yiwen reassured her with a chuckle, remembering how Mu Bai had once told Chang Feng, “Don’t let poverty limit your imagination.”

Even as his online girlfriend, she couldn’t fully understand Mu Bai’s mindset, let alone others.
