The next morning, around 7 a.m., Mu Bai groggily opened his eyes and, as usual, got out of bed to wash up.

After freshening up, he yawned and grabbed his phone from the bedside table. When he checked, he saw several new bank transaction notifications.

“Dear user, on January 1st at 10:02 PM, your account ending in 2868 received 590,000.00 yuan. Current balance: 596,880.18 yuan.”

“Dear user, on January 2nd at 6:33 AM, your account ending in 2868 received 2,390,000.00 yuan. Current balance: 2,986,880.18 yuan.”

Seeing these transaction messages, Mu Bai realized that Fengshen Express was indeed very efficient, having already delivered more than half of the flowers and plants in just one day. He was quite satisfied with this.

His bank account, which had less than 10,000 yuan the previous day, now held over 3 million yuan again.

“Let’s see the buyers’ reviews after they received their orders,” Mu Bai thought.

Yawning, he walked out of his bedroom, comfortably leaned on the sofa, and logged into his phone’s Taobao app.

After glancing at the backend messages, he switched to the buyer feedback section. Most buyers who had confirmed receipt gave five-star reviews, but there were also a number of negative reviews.

This surprised Mu Bai, as he was confident in the quality of the flowers and plants he sold.

Scrolling through the comments, he started reading them one by one:

User 526****: “Haha, the delivery guy is so handsome! Delivering my package late at night in this cold weather, what a hard worker! Five stars for the delivery service and product quality, but I give the seller’s service a bad rating!!! I contacted them all day without a response. The seller is too aloof, so I have to give a bad review!”

“The flowers are even prettier than in the pictures, worth every penny. Five-star review. I’ve followed the shop and will buy more in the future, but I hope the seller communicates with customers more often and isn’t so cold.”

“I received the Golden Queen plant. It’s great, and the delivery was handled well. Five stars for Fengshen Express.”

“My peony arrived, and the flower is beautiful—definitely worth the price. But I’m still angry about the seller’s attitude. Even though the product quality is excellent, please don’t be so cold. Even if you’re swamped with messages, surely you can hire customer service, right? Don’t tell me a shop with millions in transactions can’t afford a support staff!”

“Hmm, the product is good, but I’m still giving a bad review! Just because I can! The seller is so cold, let’s see if you still ignore me now!”

Reading these reviews, especially the negative ones, Mu Bai didn’t know what to say. It wasn’t that he was ignoring these buyers; it was just that every time he sold products, the number of buyers far exceeded his ability to respond.

However, as a Taobao seller, he understood that good customer service was important. Seeing these negative reviews made him realize he needed to hire a customer service representative.

Hiring online support wouldn’t cost too much, but he wasn’t sure who to hire at the moment.

As he pondered the matter, he closed the Taobao app.

It was now 8 a.m., and the sky outside was still a bit gray.

Since he couldn’t think of anyone to hire as a Taobao customer service representative, Mu Bai decided to contact “Clever Star” on QQ for advice. Clever Star had been in the Taobao business for much longer than him, and since he planned to buy more jade stones from her today, he figured he could also ask about hiring a customer service agent.

Logging into QQ, Mu Bai found Clever Star in his recent contacts and opened their chat.

“Are you there? I want to buy more jade stones and ask you a few things.”

After sending the message, he saw that Clever Star’s QQ status was set to “Away,” so he went downstairs to grab breakfast.

The breakfast shop was nearby, just a few minutes’ walk from the Shuimo Linju neighborhood.

He ordered a nutritious breakfast and ate while waiting for a reply on QQ.

At 8:10 a.m., in a modest jade shop on the commercial street in the northern district of Nanjing:

“Ding-dong!”

The sound of a special QQ notification woke Mi Xuan, who had been napping after waking up early. She rubbed her eyes and reached for her phone.

It wasn’t that Mi Xuan was lazy, but the previous night, she had stayed up until the early morning, negotiating a 20,000-yuan deal with a customer on QQ. However, the client ultimately decided to “think about it,” leaving her feeling exasperated.

She couldn’t help but compare this slow negotiation with her other client, Little Mu, who had easily spent 200,000 yuan on jade stones. The contrast made her realize how lucky she was to have such a wealthy and straightforward customer in Little Mu.

Determined to keep such a valuable client, Mi Xuan had made Little Mu her top priority on QQ, ensuring that she would never miss his messages.

Yawning, she pulled her phone under her pink blanket and opened QQ to check the messages.

Mi Xuan wasn’t a stunning beauty, but she rated around 70 to 75 in appearance. Her fair skin was her most noticeable feature. As she lay under the blanket playing with her phone, her snow-white skin peeking out here and there gave her a subtle allure.

“Hmm? It’s Little Mu again, wanting to buy more jade! Great! Little Mu really takes care of me.”

Seeing that Little Mu wanted to buy more jade, Mi Xuan was thrilled. However, she also noticed that he wanted to consult her on something.

She wasn’t sure what it was, but she quickly replied: “Yes, Little Mu, your dear honey is here! What do you need to ask?”

She didn’t mention the jade purchase right away, knowing that solving the customer’s problem first would create a better impression. With such a wealthy client as Little Mu, building goodwill was even more important.

After sending the message, Mi Xuan got out of bed and began getting dressed, ready to start her day of work.
