Yin Qingyue’s grip on Yin Ziyu grew tighter. Yin Ziyu struggled desperately, clutching her sister’s hand and shrinking back, gasping for air.

If Yin Qingyue applied any more pressure, Yin Ziyu would suffocate to death.

Seeing Yin Ziyu’s face turn red, Yin Qingyue finally let go at the last moment. Yin Ziyu coughed violently for a long time.

“Since you refuse to choose, fine. I will choose for you,” Yin Qingyue said, calling for Dong’er.

Dong’er entered and, seeing the scene, was initially startled. “Miss, what happened?”

“From today onward, she—Yin Ziyu—is no longer my sister. She is merely a woman wandering in Beihuo. Find someone to escort her out of the mansion. Whether she lives or dies is up to her,” Yin Qingyue instructed.

Dong’er was momentarily stunned but quickly reacted, calling two servants to seize Yin Ziyu.

Yin Ziyu looked dazed, her hair in disarray, not even resisting as the servants dragged her away.

Shocked, Yin Ziyu was carried out of Prince Jing’s mansion and dumped directly onto the street.

“You can’t do this to me! You can’t!” she muttered, though she didn’t have the strength to protest. She remained on the ground, motionless.

Dong’er said, “You should leave immediately. As the Miss said, from today, you are no longer her sister. Survive as you can, or don’t—it’s your choice.”

“I beg you! Let me see big sister one last time! I truly understand my mistakes—I really do!”

“It’s useless to say that. I’m only following the Miss’s orders. Now, leave quickly.” Dong’er waved dismissively and went inside with the servants.

Yin Ziyu tried to rush in again, but the guards at the gate stopped her and threw her back onto the street. She lay there, utterly humiliated.

At this moment, Qian Zhuang, who had come under Prince Jing’s orders to propose, arrived at the mansion. Upon seeing this scene, he was surprised. He had not expected Yin Ziyu to be in such a state. He had also heard Dong’er’s words—Yin Qingyue had indeed cast her out.

Yin Ziyu looked up and saw Qian Zhuang. Excited, she crawled toward him, thinking she had found a lifeline. She grabbed his pant leg. “Young Master Qian, marry me! I agree to marry you—please, take me as your wife!”

At this moment, Qian Zhuang was her only hope. Though she didn’t like him, as Yin Qingyue had said, he was wealthy and powerful, ensuring she would not have to worry about her future.

However, Qian Zhuang kicked her away. “Now you understand? Weren’t you just insulting me before, calling me a beast?”

“No! I didn’t mean it!” she cried.

“I’ve seen women like you before. Now that Prince Jing’s wife doesn’t want you, I don’t have to propose either. How liberating!” Qian Zhuang laughed loudly.

But Yin Ziyu didn’t give up. “Young Master Qian, I know I was wrong. If you don’t take me, I’m finished! I am already yours—you can’t abandon me!”

“You? You’re no longer a virgin. What more do you expect? Besides, didn’t I already give you a silver ingot?”

“I…”

“I don’t have time to waste on this.” Qian Zhuang said to a servant, “I’m bored. I’ll go to the Yihong Brothel. You can leave now.”

“Yes, Young Master,” the servant replied.

Qian Zhuang laughed heartily and left without looking back.

Yin Ziyu had truly lost everything. She wept bitterly, staring at the grand Prince Jing Mansion. From now on, she was utterly alone.

She dragged herself along the streets, lost and dejected. She wanted to find Xiao Chengli, but he was nowhere to be found—little did she know he was still imprisoned and suffering under Prince Jing.

Night fell. She had not eaten all day and was starving.

She stood outside a steamed bun shop, swallowing hard, and approached to buy some. The shopkeeper came out and asked, “Miss, do you want some buns?”

“I want to eat, but I have no money,” she said.

“No money?” The shopkeeper looked her over, disgusted at her dirty appearance. “No money? Then get out. Don’t block my business.”

Pleading, Yin Ziyu said, “Boss, please give me a few buns. I’m the younger sister of Prince Jing’s wife. I’m not an ordinary beggar!”

The shopkeeper laughed. “Prince Jing’s wife’s sister? Are you kidding me? You don’t look like that at all. Now go, quickly.”

“I really am her sister! Believe me!”

“I said leave! Move before I get angry!” the shopkeeper snapped.

Starving, Yin Ziyu could not resist the steaming buns. Seeing the shopkeeper inside, she had an idea and snatched a few buns, running.

But weak as she was, she fell after a few steps. The shopkeeper and his workers chased her, shouting, “How dare you steal! I’ll kill you!”

Without warning, they beat her mercilessly with sticks. Yin Ziyu rolled on the ground, eventually losing consciousness.

The shopkeeper hurriedly stopped his men, shocked. “Is she dead?”

A worker checked her pulse. “No, boss. She’s just unconscious.”

“Unconscious? Throw her out into the wild then.”

“Boss… is that okay?”

“What’s the problem? Who cares about a beggar?”

They roughly lifted her and dumped her into a small forest outside town.

Perhaps Yin Ziyu had never imagined her life would come to such a state. She lay on the cold grass, full of regret, tears streaming down her face. But in this world, there was no medicine for regret.

With Yin Ziyu’s matter resolved, Yin Qingyue could finally sleep peacefully.

Yet the next day, an imperial edict arrived at Prince Jing’s mansion.

Sun Gonggong personally delivered it—a sign of great importance. Chu Jingcheng went with Yin Qingyue to receive it.

Sun Gonggong opened the edict and read aloud:
“By the mandate of Heaven, the Emperor decrees: Yin Qingyue, virtuous and kind-hearted, is to be married to Prince Jing. A wedding date shall be set.”

The brief words made Chu Jingcheng and Yin Qingyue exchange glances—they had waited for this moment.

Sun Gonggong closed the edict. “Prince Jing, Princess, receive the decree.”

Chu Jingcheng took Yin Qingyue’s hand and stepped forward to accept it. “Gonggong, please convey our gratitude to His Majesty.”

“Rest assured, Prince Jing. I will deliver your words faithfully,” Sun Gonggong said kindly. “The Emperor has considered carefully. He knows your feelings for the Princess and will no longer interfere.”

“I understand. Thank you, Gonggong,” Chu Jingcheng replied.

Sun Gonggong nodded and pulled Chu Jingcheng aside. “Prince Jing, the Emperor will soon appoint Prince Ling as Crown Prince. The decree will follow shortly.”

Chu Jingcheng was unsurprised but pleased. “I believe this is my father’s best decision.”

“Prince Jing, now you can be at ease. I wish you and the Princess a long and happy life together.”

“Thank you, Gonggong.”

Sun Gonggong bowed and addressed Yin Qingyue. “Congratulations, Princess.”

“Thank you for coming personally, Gonggong,” she replied with a slight smile.

“Your servant’s honor. It’s late; I’ll return to the palace now,” Sun Gonggong said and left.

Chu Jingcheng looked at Yin Qingyue holding the edict. “Looks like you can’t escape this life now.”

“Yes. If I tried, it would be treason—I don’t want that,” she said.

“From now on, I promise to treat you well,” he said.

“You’ve said that many times already.”

Chu Jingcheng smiled, relieved, gazing at her tenderly but with a hint of possessiveness. “Yin Qingyue, as my wife, your eyes shall only ever see me.”

Seeing his domineering side, Yin Qingyue smiled faintly and turned toward the back garden. “Looks like I’m destined to fall into your hands.”

Chu Jingcheng followed. “I told you before—what you took from me, I would reclaim. Now, I have.”

They reached the back garden and sat in the small pavilion. Dong’er brought hot tea.

“Prince, Princess, the tea is freshly brewed—drink while it’s hot,” she said.

Yin Qingyue looked at Dong’er and smiled. “You changed your tune so quickly?”

Dong’er, embarrassed, avoided eye contact. “Mistress, I wasn’t wrong. The Emperor has decreed it—you are to be the Princess.”

“Alright, alright, you flatter me. You may leave now.”

“Yes, Mistress,” Dong’er bowed and left.

Chu Jingcheng leaned forward slightly. “Do you have something you wish to say?”

Being perceptive, Yin Qingyue spoke plainly. “It’s about Dong’er. I’ve spoken with her before. After we marry, have her married into a good family. She’s grown—she shouldn’t stay with me forever.”

“I understand your intentions. I agree,” Chu Jingcheng said.
