“Don’t come any closer!”

At the edge of a cliff, a frail young woman stood facing the wind. Her body looked as though it could be blown away at any moment. In front of her stood more than a dozen tall men wielding blades and swords, cold light flashing across their faces.

“Even if you die, we won’t leave you a whole corpse.” The leader’s gaze turned icy as his sword slid from its sheath.

The woman’s face went deathly pale. She clutched her clothes tightly. “I can’t die without knowing why. Tell me—who wants me dead?”

If she died, she would never see him again. She still remembered that night under the moonlight: he, dressed in flowing white, a faint smile on his lips, reaching out to her hand and laughing softly. “Qing’er, you are my only one. I’ll protect you for the rest of my life.”

“Fair enough. If I tell you, you can die in peace.” The tall man suddenly moved closer, leaned in, and whispered in her ear. Then, without hesitation, he thrust his sword toward her.

Her body swayed. Her footing slipped, and she nearly fell off the cliff. Her eyes widened in disbelief.

How could it be him?! He had treated her like a priceless treasure—afraid she’d fall if he held her too tightly, afraid she’d melt if he cherished her too much. Even when she left the Yin family, he had still gripped her hand firmly and said, Qing’er, don’t be afraid. I’ll come find you. You are mine for this lifetime and the next.

That man… wanted her dead?!

The assassins had entered the capital, driven her all the way to the cliff, all just to take her life! Why would he do this?!

Standing at the edge, the wind howled so fiercely she could barely open her eyes. “You’re lying!”

She closed her eyes tightly, fists clenched. She didn’t want to die. She wanted to go back and confront him!

The leader narrowed his eyes. His sword shot forward, forcing her to the very edge of the cliff. As her body teetered on the brink, cruel smiles spread across the men’s faces.

But the smiles didn’t last long.

The leader’s heart suddenly skipped a beat. The Yin family’s legitimate eldest daughter had always been weak—so why had the look in her eyes suddenly turned so vicious? How could that fragile, helpless demeanor transform in an instant into something so terrifying?

Yin Qingyue twisted her waist, straightening her body from a backward lean. She narrowed her eyes, sharp light flashing within them.

Just moments ago, she had been executing a group of troublesome collateral members of the Yin Corporation. How had she ended up here in the blink of an eye? Green mountains in the distance, a sheer cliff beneath her feet, and several burly men in black standing before her.

“If you jump now, we’ll at least leave you a whole corpse. But like this? We’ll chop you into pieces!”

A ruthless glint flashed through the leader’s eyes. “The master gave orders—just don’t defile you.” With that, he swung his sword straight at her face.

“Pathetic tricks.” Yin Qingyue chuckled lightly. She stepped aside swiftly, dodging the attack. But once she steadied herself, she felt dizzy.

She had survived gunfire and bombings, countless life-or-death situations in the wild. And now she was dizzy facing just a few men with swords? Something was very wrong.

She quickly scanned her surroundings, then looked closely at the men’s clothing. Her heart jolted. The more she looked, the more it resembled ancient attire. Then she glanced down at herself—

A bright red silk dress.

Ancient women’s clothing.

For a split second, no matter how strong she was, her mind went completely blank.
Don’t tell me… she had transmigrated?!

Damn it. This was brutal.

The tall men exchanged glances, then moved in unison, drawing their swords.

Though Yin Qingyue felt weak, as the young head of the Yin Corporation, she possessed exceptional battlefield instincts. She shifted her steps, flipped her wrist, and clamped down on one man’s blade—then twisted outward.

In an instant, the sword bent.

All the assassins stared at the scene in utter disbelief. How was this possible?! A weak woman had bent a blade with her bare hands?!

She stood there calm and composed, her expression serene, as if she didn’t regard them as a threat at all.

“Who is your master? And where is this place?” Yin Qingyue’s face remained impassive, her voice steady. Only she knew how weak she truly was right now. Even so, she had to appear overwhelmingly strong.

“You’ll be meeting the King of Hell soon enough!” Unwilling to accept this, the men attacked again, surrounding her and forcing her back toward the cliff.

“Her steps are unsteady—she’s out of strength!” the leader shouted. “Everyone, attack the same spot!”

At once, all the blades stabbed toward her ankles.

Yin Qingyue spun around—but her foot landed on a loose stone.

In the next instant, a flash of dazzling red plummeted into the abyss. The wind roared past her ears, and she could still hear the men’s unrestrained laughter above.

Yin Qingyue was furious enough to curse the heavens. What kind of situation was this?! Transmigration was bad enough—her body was weaker too! Dealing with those men should have been effortless. And now she’d been forced off a cliff?!

Could fate screw her over any harder?!
