LOT – Chapter 59 Big Scandal! Someone Did That to the Emperor’s Horse!

Let All the Officials Hear My Thoughts; I’m Just Going to Slack off and Watch the Drama 6 min read 59 of 343 228

Lin Mo looked at the Second Prince, who hadn’t moved, and sighed in disappointment. “Dingpa, why are you so lazy?”

The Second Prince, now fully sober, got up from the ground and said, speechless, “Please take a good look at who I am. Your Dingpa is lying over there.”

He had still felt a bit groggy, but after being tormented by this chaotic devil, his mind instantly cleared.

When Lin Mo saw the Second Prince standing up, she looked utterly shocked. “Oh my god! The pig turned into a spirit!”

The people nearby were nearly laughing themselves into a coma. What do you mean, ‘the pig turned into a spirit’?! That’s a proper human being you’re mistaking for a pig, while an actual pig is being treated like a person.

The system tried persuading her patiently: [Dear ancestor, please get a grip. That’s not a pig—that’s the Second Prince!]

Lin Mo: [No way! That can’t be the Second Prince! Isn’t he lying over there?]

The pig lying nearby: Oink oink.

System: [You’re drunk. Please don’t drink again—you’re terrifying when drunk.]

Everyone else thought the same. Her destructive power skyrocketed when she was drunk. She was already wild when sober, but now—completely unhinged.

Minister Lin came over and dragged Lin Mo aside. “Alright, alright, stop clowning around. Go get some sleep. You’ll be fine once you’ve rested.”

Lin Mo stared at her father with wide, sparkling eyes, then suddenly beamed in delight. “Erlang Shen! Are you Erlang Shen? My dad is actually Erlang Shen!”

Minister Lin: … “Erlang Shen says it’s bedtime. Now go sleep!”

He’d completely given up at this point—just get her out of here first.

And so, the farce came to an end. Though chaotic, the audience thoroughly enjoyed it—except for Prince Xin, who lost a wheelchair.

Emperor Xuande cleared his throat lightly and looked at his younger brother. “Well, since your wheelchair got taken, you might as well keep that new one. No idea what was going through that girl’s head—she refused a new one and insisted on yours.”

Prince Xin paused, then said, “Maybe she was interested in mine from the start. And once she got drunk, she wasn’t exactly thinking straight. So… she just took it.”

For the rest of the day, Lin Mo was completely knocked out, fast asleep.

Everyone else was busy hunting and grilling meat, and though it was lively, something felt missing.

The Crown Prince, roasting food for his wife, said, “Without Lord Lin here, things feel kind of boring. Even if I’m not gossiping, just watching her ride that big white pig around is entertaining.”

The Crown Princess sighed. “Exactly. Lord Lin rarely joins outings with other young ladies—just catching a glimpse of her is hard. Now that we’ve finally got a chance, every moment with her feels precious.”

Everyone shared that sentiment. The energy was still there, but something just didn’t feel complete.

As everyone was winding down for the night, Lin Mo finally woke up. Everyone else was heading to bed, and she was just getting up.

System: [My dear ancestor! You’re finally awake! Do you remember what happened?]

Lin Mo, head buried under the blanket, replied gloomily: [Of course I remember. I don’t black out when I drink. Why can’t I black out like other people? It’s so embarrassing!]

The system chuckled a little maliciously. [Most of it wasn’t that bad, but I really don’t understand why you stole someone’s wheelchair. There was a better one right next to it!]

Yanking a wheelchair out from under someone—truly peak villain behavior.

Lin Mo glanced at the wheelchair beside her bed and sighed. [Maybe… it was love at first sight. I laid eyes on it once, and that was it—destiny.]

System: … What the hell do you mean “love at first sight”? You used that same line when you transmigrated into this world!

Lin Mo had wanted to doze off again, but she’d already slept too much. No matter what she did, she couldn’t fall back asleep.

Staring at the ceiling, she muttered helplessly, [What do I do now? I can’t sleep… and I’m kinda hungry.]

System thought for a moment and said, [Then go get something to eat. The fire’s still going outside, and there’s some leftover meat from the hunt.]

Without hesitation, Lin Mo trotted off to scavenge the leftovers.

When the guards saw her sneaking out, they didn’t even blink—pretending they saw nothing.

Lin Mo grilled herself a piece of meat and started telling ghost stories to the system.

[This setting is perfect for ghost stories. Let me tell you the tale of the Embroidered Shoe Ghost!]

The system immediately perked up—this was new and exciting.

Lin Mo lowered her voice dramatically, making it eerie and immersive.

People in nearby tents who hadn’t fallen asleep yet: …What is wrong with you? It’s the middle of the night and you’re telling ghost stories?!

The patrolling guards were on the verge of collapse.
If I’d known this would happen, I’d have traded shifts! This is torture!

System: [Aaaaah! The embroidered shoes are terrifying! And everyone’s wearing them!]

Lin Mo: [But ours aren’t red embroidered shoes.]

The girls in nearby tents who were wearing red embroidered shoes: … They’re definitely throwing those shoes out tomorrow.

After finishing the ghost story, Lin Mo patted the dust off and went back to bed—leaving behind a camp full of horrified people and traumatized guards.

Surely she’d done this on purpose! They’d never even offended her!

That night, everyone who heard the ghost story didn’t sleep a wink. The flickering shadows cast on the tent walls looked to them like monsters.

Lin Mo, however, slept like a baby in the second half of the night. The next morning, she woke up refreshed and full of energy, in sharp contrast to everyone she’d scared.

By morning, Emperor Xuande also heard about the chaos from last night.

This girl… truly something else. Even when going to sleep, she had to mess with someone.  Thank goodness he’d gone to bed early.

Just as Lin Mo was enjoying her breakfast in peace, the system suddenly dropped a massive bombshell.

[A super, ultra, mega scandal! Someone did something to the Emperor’s horse!]

Coughs erupted around the area—many thought they’d misheard.

Someone did WHAT to the Emperor’s horse?! What kind of wild, depraved soul would do such a thing? Not even animals are spared?!

Even Emperor Xuande was dumbfounded. Surely it can’t mean… that?! Don’t tell me there’s someone in my court who’s that kind of ‘talent’?!
