“Wasn’t it just that I bumped into you a few times? You didn’t seem to mind back then—why are you settling the score now?”
“So what will it take for you to forgive me? I came here sincerely to apologize, but your demands can’t be too excessive.”
Jin Luoluo figured that since he refused her invitation, he must be aiming for greater benefits.
Since she would inevitably need his help now and in the future, she might as well spend some money to avoid trouble.
Xiao Yu became interested. “Then how do you plan to ask for my forgiveness? Let me hear it. If it pleases me, I might let you off.”
With a pained expression, Jin Luoluo raised one finger. “One thousand taels of silver—delivered to your residence immediately. You’re magnanimous, so just accept it and forgive me, alright?”
“One thousand taels?” Xiao Yu narrowed his eyes.
She actually thought she could dismiss him with money? Did she take him for someone greedy? And only a thousand taels—was his worth really that low?
Seeing he wasn’t satisfied, Jin Luoluo struggled painfully before raising two fingers. “Too little? Then two thousand taels. I’m only raising the price because you helped me through the back door—this is really my limit. Do you know how hard it is to do business these days? Every bit of silver comes from my blood and sweat—don’t be too greedy.”
Xiao Yu was at a loss with her. How could this girl talk about money all the time? Did she really think money could solve everything?
He recalled her famous line: “Anyone poorer than me is a pauper!”
So he teased her deliberately, “Jin Luoluo, can’t you think of any other way besides money? Even if I’m a ‘pauper’ in your eyes, I’d still be the richest among them. That little bit of silver means nothing to me. For someone so clever, don’t you know how to cater to my preferences and please me?”
Jin Luoluo’s eyes lit up. So he didn’t want money—he wanted something else in exchange for forgiving her.
That was easy. As long as it didn’t involve money, she didn’t mind doing anything.
Her face blossomed into a bright smile as she nudged him playfully. “Xiao Yu, why didn’t you say so earlier? Turns out you’re so easy to deal with. A refined person like you who treats money like dirt—offering two thousand taels would only insult you. I know I was wrong. Go on, tell me—what do you want me to do? Anything is fine.”
Xiao Yu shot her a meaningful glance. “Anything? Then… how about spending a night together?”

Author’s note:
Three extra chapters today—that’s all for now.
Some readers are worried that this story might turn angsty or stop being funny later on. Don’t worry—this is meant to be a lighthearted parody. I just want to write something fun and keep it cheerful all the way through, since my previous serious works were too heavy and even affected my mood.
Honestly, it’s hard to make this story angsty anyway. The female lead is too tough—she’s bold, cunning, greedy, sly, and a bit scatterbrained, and she always gets revenge. If someone slaps her once, she’ll slap them twice. She’s definitely not a saintly type, so it’s hard to make her suffer.
The later parts of the story will actually be even funnier than the beginning—trust in my comedic skills!
