“Luoluo, don’t run off like this!”
Behind her, Xiao Yu’s anxious voice carried through the wind, filled with unmistakable concern.
Jin Luoluo gradually reined in her galloping horse until it came to a stop.
She waited dejectedly for Xiao Yu to catch up, her heart aching once more.
Why was it Xiao Yu who had come after her…
…and not him?
In all the dramas, when the heroine ran away in tears, didn’t the hero always chase after her without a second thought? Then they’d embrace, cry their hearts out, explain everything, and end up happily reconciled.
But Xiao Luo was probably taking care of his fiancée right now.
Sigh…
Why couldn’t she have the heroine’s luck?
Looking around, Jin Luoluo realized she had ridden aimlessly into a forest.
A wave of fear washed over her.
With absolutely no wilderness survival skills, she’d probably starve to death if she couldn’t find her way back out.
“Xiao Yu, thank you. I got carried away and wasn’t even paying attention to where I was going.”
“It’s good that you realize that. You actually dared to run around in a place you’re unfamiliar with.” He smiled gently. “But since we’ve already come this far, why don’t we look around a bit?”
Riding side by side, Xiao Yu slowed his horse to a leisurely pace, allowing the animals to wander through the forest at will.
“Xiao Yu, I’m so depressed… so, so depressed. Sigh… Why do people have to have so many worries?”
Jin Luoluo scratched her head in frustration. For once, her beautiful face wore an unusually gloomy expression.
Xiao Yu reached over and gently smoothed the tightly knitted frown between her brows.
Seeing her unhappy made his heart ache.
“Don’t frown. Jin Luoluo should always be a happy little fairy. Nothing should be able to defeat her. She’s the kind of person who brings joy and hope to everyone around her.”
Looking at Xiao Yu’s large hand, Jin Luoluo suddenly felt much warmer inside.
The gesture reminded her so much of a father’s comforting touch.
It made her feel safe.
If only Xiao Yu were my older brother…
“I want to be happy all the time too,” she grumbled. “But I’m depressed right now. Really, really depressed!”
She complained childishly, as though she were pouting to an older brother.
After thinking for a moment, Xiao Yu suggested,
“How about you punch me a couple of times to vent your anger?”
Jin Luoluo blinked.
“Really? Don’t dodge when I throw a punch.”
“Hmph. I won’t dodge.”
Smack!
Jin Luoluo punched him squarely on the shoulder.
Grinning mischievously, Xiao Yu rubbed the spot she had hit.
“That was too light. It didn’t even hurt. Hit me harder. Let it all out—vent all your anger.”
