Jin Luoluo stood up confidently and, under the puzzled yet expectant gazes of the crowd, walked toward Dongfang Hong.

“And take Emperor Shaoxuan of Jialan. When treacherous ministers rebelled and forced him from the throne, he escaped by disguising himself as a palace maid. In the end, he gathered loyal forces and reclaimed his imperial authority.”

Jin Luoluo’s sharp gaze swept across the banquet guests. There was a faint air of superiority in her bearing, as though she looked down upon the world itself, causing many people to avert their eyes from her piercing stare.

“If they had all thought the way you do—if they had believed such actions were degrading and refused to do them even in death—then those famous figures would have remained insignificant people buried by history. How could they ever have had the chance to shine so brilliantly?

Jin Luoluo fixed her eyes on Dongfang Hong.

“Can you do that?

By the time she finished speaking, even Lan Cangxuan found himself viewing Jin Luoluo in a new light.
