Actually, it wasn’t such a bad thing for Su Mo to have transmigrated here too. At least she wouldn’t need to change her life goal anymore — she just had to work hard to crush Su Mo beneath her feet.
Xiao Luo felt slightly displeased.
“Jin Luoluo, have you mistaken me for someone else? We only met on that boat half a month ago. How does that become ‘knowing each other for years’?”
So the passionate look in her eyes earlier had actually been directed at someone else. And realizing that unexpectedly left him feeling irritated.
Yes, deeply irritated. Since when had he, Xiao Luo, become someone else’s substitute?
“You’re still pretending? That damned face of yours, that arrogant way of speaking, that punchable smile, and that terrible taste in clothes — and you still dare deny it?”
Jin Luoluo fired off a whole string of indignant insults without pause.
Xiao Luo could only laugh speechlessly. In more than twenty years of life, never had a woman dared criticize his appearance and personality right to his face. She even said his smile was “asking for a beating.” Everyone praised how good he looked in white robes, yet she called his fashion sense vulgar.
Those comments were clearly filled with personal bias. It seemed her bond with that person ran very deep indeed.
Deep enough for her to remember every single one of his traits.
“Luoluo, what are you discussing with Seventeenth Brother about all this ‘wearing this, wearing that’?” the Empress asked, utterly confused after listening to their conversation.
Turning her head, Jin Luoluo saw the Empress studying her thoughtfully, while the imperial relatives around them exchanged glances, mocking smiles lingering on their lips.
Only then did she suddenly realize she was still supposed to be acting.
She hadn’t expected to run into Su Mo here, and the shock had made her completely lose her composure, grabbing the chance to reminisce with him.
“Hehe, I just thought Seventeenth Imperial Uncle’s clothes looked too thin. As juniors, we were worried he might catch cold, so I specially came over to check on him.”
“So that’s the reason. How thoughtful of you, Luoluo,” the Empress replied.
Although she knew perfectly well that answer was rather forced, she still tried to smooth things over for Jin Luoluo. Otherwise, if the situation turned ugly, the only ones whose reputations would suffer would be herself and her sons.
“Caring for elders is only proper. Now that I’ve finished caring, I’m going back!”
Jin Luoluo suddenly whipped around fiercely and mouthed at Xiao Luo:
“Just wait till I settle accounts with you later!!!”
Then she bounced back onto Xiao Che’s side, flashed Xiao Luo an arrogant grin, sat down on her stool, and tried to kill him with her glare.
