His smiling gaze swept across the entire hall before finally settling on Jin Luoluo, observing the shocked expression in her eyes.
The amusement in his eyes deepened further. She had probably realized by now that he was the man from the boat that day.
However, her expression was somewhat strange. Originally, he had guessed she would react with more anger, yet unexpectedly, shock seemed to dominate her emotions instead.
Then his eyes drifted to the zombie-like leg she had propped up on the stool, and he could not help letting out a faint laugh. This girl was clearly up to some new trick again, making herself look so absurdly entertaining. This banquet truly had not been a wasted trip.
The pageboy pushed the wheelchair forward and brought Xiao Luo to his seat, then poured him a cup of fine wine. Xiao Luo raised the cup toward Jin Luoluo and drained it in one smooth motion.
Only then did Jin Luoluo finally snap out of her endless shock.
From the moment Xiao Luo appeared, she had felt as though she had fallen into a dream from another lifetime. Her mind had gone completely blank, with only one phrase endlessly circling through her head: It’s him, it’s him, it’s him, it’s him, it’s him…
Now, seeing Xiao Luo smiling warmly as he toasted her with wine, she finally exploded with fury~~~
“Jin Luoluo, what’s wrong with you?” Even Xiao Che noticed that something was off about her.
Without realizing it, she had crushed an entire bunch of grapes into mush in her hand, then actually wiped the grape juice all over her own clothes.
Was she using her clothes as a hand towel? This woman was really too much.
Still, the way she was looking at Imperial Uncle was incredibly strange. It was difficult to describe the expression in her eyes.
If he absolutely had to describe it, then it was as though she had swallowed a fly, yet somehow also thought it tasted delicious—a twisted expression that was both painful and joyful at the same time.
Could it be that she knew Seventeenth Uncle?
While Xiao Che was still confused, Jin Luoluo suddenly sprang upright from her stool with a “whoosh.”
Then hop, hop, hop—she bounced toward the outside. Xiao Che wanted to stop her, but it was already too late.
Everyone who had just been staring at Xiao Luo immediately shifted their attention back onto Jin Luoluo again, wondering why she had suddenly rushed out like that.
“Luoluo, is something the matter?” the Empress asked in confusion.
Why had she suddenly jumped out of her seat without any warning at all?
“Nothing. I just saw an acquaintance. If I don’t go greet him, I feel like I’ll suffocate to death.” Jin Luoluo did not even raise her head. She merely glared fixedly at Xiao Luo while gritting her teeth and rapidly hopping toward him.
Xiao Luo watched her bouncing toward him with a smile, completely ignoring the murmured discussions rising all around the hall.
