“You damn woman, you dare curse me to die? Even after you’re dead, I’ll still live another hundred years. Talking nonsense with an idiot like you is a complete waste of my money-making time. Yang Ruoyao, are you finished yet? If you are, then get the hell out.”
Yang Ruoyao thought she had finally struck Jin Luoluo’s weak spot, and a trace of smugness appeared on her face.
“Oh right, there’s another piece of good news I should tell you. In two days there’ll be a palace banquet specially prepared for you. All the imperial relatives are waiting to watch your little performance and see how a merchant’s daughter embarrasses herself in the palace.”
She cast a meaningful glance at Jin Luoluo’s injured hands and feet.
“If you walk into the palace dressed like that, just wait to be laughed at by everyone!”
Jin Luoluo smiled indifferently. “Thanks for kindly informing me, but I’m afraid I’ll disappoint you. No matter where I, Jin Luoluo, go, I’ll always be dazzling and radiant—something a woman like you could never hope to match. So you’ve finally finished talking, huh? What a waste of time, and a pollution to my ears. You have fifteen minutes to get out of my residence. I won’t be seeing you off.”
“Jin Luoluo, I’ll just wait and see how you manage to bluff your way through the banquet two days from now. The Empress is no ordinary person—she absolutely won’t tolerate a disgraceful daughter-in-law,” Yang Ruoyao said through gritted teeth.
“That would be wonderful. Hopefully she’ll immediately issue a decree canceling this marriage. If that happens, I’ll sincerely thank you. Ahhh~~ why are you still not leaving? If you don’t disappear from my residence within fifteen minutes, the consequences will be very serious~~”
Jin Luoluo suddenly shouted toward the outside:
“Lüya! Shut the gates and release the dogs! Throw these two bitches out for me~~~”
“Yes, Miss! I’ll go get two fierce dogs right away~~” a loud, crisp voice answered from outside.
Yang Ruoyao’s eyes widened. “You wouldn’t dare!”
“Heehee~~” Jin Luoluo sat behind the desk with a wicked grin. “Why don’t you try me and find out? I heard that after being bitten by dogs, people start barking like dogs too, and then they go mad. I’m really looking forward to seeing you crawling on the ground barking. Oh~~ looks like there’s still a little time left. Aren’t you running yet~~”
Seeing that Jin Luoluo didn’t seem to be joking, and hearing the increasingly clear barking of dogs from outside, Yang Ruoyao was terrified out of her wits.
“Miss, run quickly!” The maid’s face had already gone pale with fear as she dragged the panicked Yang Ruoyao and fled desperately outside.
