“I didn’t expect you to have such an imagination, You Shou. You should just go write novels—I guarantee your books would sell over ten thousand copies.” Jin Luoluo poked his head again. This boy’s thinking was seriously unhealthy.
“A five-way romance? I’d sooner call it the Pentagon. With the Second Prince, it’s mutual appreciation; with that jinx, it’s mutual dislike; with the Fourth Prince, it’s comradeship; with Dongfang Hong, it’s a partnership; and with that mysterious man, it’s meeting an equal opponent.”
Jin Luoluo lifted her chin proudly. “Who do you think I, Jin Luoluo, am? To win this lady’s heart, a man must not only have talent and looks, but also be elegant, gentle, considerate, and completely obedient to me. And he must meet four basic criteria: able to handle scholarly matters, skilled in the kitchen, presentable in public, and… capable in bed…”
“Miss, stop talking, please.” You Shou frantically signaled to her with his eyes.
But Jin Luoluo was too immersed in her ideal man to notice. Sighing wistfully, she added, “If such a man really appeared before me, I wouldn’t hesitate—I’d immediately have an affair. Princes, nobles, all of them can get lost. But where could I possibly find such a man? Most likely I’d have to dig one up from a grave… sigh, sigh, sigh…”
“Jin Luoluo, you dare to have an affair? And you want me to get lost?”
A furious shout came from the doorway, so loud it made the vases tremble. The ones who had arrived were Xiao Che and Xiao Yu.
Startled by the thunderous roar, Jin Luoluo nearly fell off her seat. Still shaken, she patted her chest, then raised her head angrily to glare at Xiao Che.
“You damned jinx, what are you yelling for? I was just imagining things. Don’t I even have the freedom to imagine? Who’s having an affair? If you’ve got the ability, bring out evidence and cancel the engagement—I’d be more than happy.”
Her words left Xiao Che speechless with anger. He really couldn’t control her—but hearing her list those criteria for a partner only made him more irritated.
Her demands were truly excessive: able to handle scholarly affairs, presentable in public, skilled in the kitchen, and capable in bed.
Handling scholarly matters and being presentable were one thing—but cooking? A gentleman stays away from the kitchen; how could such a man exist?
And most infuriating of all, she openly demanded that a man be capable in bed.
She was an unmarried young lady, yet she dared to say such things.
And she even declared she would have an affair—completely disregarding him, her fiancé. How could that not drive him mad with anger?
