The first wild horse was successfully driven into the stable.
Wang Bo closed the door and started to walk away. The wild horse, not liking being confined in such a small space, whinnied loudly inside.
Tuhau Jin immediately ran over, opening his mouth as if he wanted to bite the horse.
Instantly, the wild horse lost its temper and obediently lowered its head, staying inside the stable.
After Wang Bo stepped out, Dale standing at the door cautiously asked, “Teacher, are you going to bring all of these horses in?”
“Yes. Do you think taking away their freedom is inhumane?”
Dale shook her head. “No, no. I mean… if that’s the case, why don’t you just let Tuhau Jin catch them? Why do you need a pole? Is it to look impressive?”
Wang Bo: “…”
Tuhau Jin seemed very interested in this horse-catching activity. After stepping outside, it scanned the surroundings and saw Malong using a lasso to rope a horse, and it wanted to run over.
Wang Bo grabbed him and said, “No helping. You just run obediently. Catching the horses isn’t your job, got it?”
Tuhau Jin looked at him with innocent eyes. Of course, it didn’t understand. It could comprehend basic commands, but this kind of order was beyond it.
So Wang Bo decided to guide it with actions, mounting it and chasing after the herd.
This time, the wild horses sensed danger and scattered, running wildly. However, they weren’t as fast as Tuhau Jin and the Black Horse King, and they stayed within the ranch, unable to escape. Soon, Wang Bo approached a chestnut horse.
With a burst of speed, Tuhau Jin surged next to the chestnut horse. Wang Bo extended the lasso pole and aimed to throw the loop over the horse, but Tuhau Jin jumped at the same time. The lasso slipped from the horse’s head onto its neck.
Wang Bo had no choice but to release the pole. Pulling too hard could either break the pole or strangle the horse.
Dragging the pole and running wildly, the chestnut horse finally stopped since no one was actively chasing it.
“This is pathetic, boss. Really pathetic,” Bowen shouted from behind.
Wang Bo glared at him, dismounted, and tried to quietly retrieve the lasso pole. But the wild horse was alert. As soon as he tried to approach, it started to move away.
Seeing this, Zhuang Ding wagged his tail and ran over. With a second-level soul core, he was extremely intelligent. He understood Wang Bo’s intention to retrieve the pole and chased after him.
The wild horse ran fast, but Zhuang Ding was skilled at stealth and pursuit. He first drove the horse toward a dense patch of grass and then moved stealthily within it.
This way, the horse didn’t notice his approach until it was too late to escape.
Zhuang Ding leapt and bit onto the lasso pole. Startled, the horse bolted, and Zhuang Ding held onto the pole, running without being shaken off.
Wang Bo clapped his hands, feeling immensely proud. Zhuang Ding was absolutely the best dog in the world.
After running with the wild horse for over ten minutes, Zhuang Ding still hadn’t been thrown off. Eva pulled out her phone to record, while Dale jumped and clapped, shouting, “Zhuang Ding, go faster! You’re amazing! You can really run!”
Bowen waved his hand. “Boss, hurry and find a way to take the lasso pole. Mastiffs can’t run like this—their hearts can’t handle it!”
Wang Bo swung onto his horse and quickly caught up to the wild horse and Zhuang Ding. Holding the reins firmly with one hand and leaning sideways, he used his flexibility to grab the lasso pole successfully.
Task completed, Zhuang Ding slowed down immediately. Running at such high speed with the horse had exhausted him.
The wild horse, panicked and running, had nearly depleted its stamina. Wang Bo followed it for another twenty minutes using the lasso pole. Eventually, it was utterly exhausted.
He dismounted, released the rope, and guided the horse into the stable.
The stable was scientifically designed, with enough space for horses to move around.
The horse still tried to escape, but the stable was a bit too spacious. During planning, extra space had been reserved for trucks and carts.
This was because Malong had said that the more accessible the stables were, the easier it was for horse enthusiasts to visit.
However, the wild horse, unfamiliar with the stable, tried to flee and stumbled, almost slipping.
The floors were slightly sloped outward for drainage, with a height difference of 10–15 cm. While the slope wasn’t severe, it was enough for an unfamiliar horse to lose footing.
Yesterday, Wang Bo had thought lassoing horses was fun. After catching two, he was already feeling tired.
He handed the lasso pole to Bowen, letting him handle the next horse.
The deputy town mayor happily agreed and even called the Cousins’ group of cowboys.
Wang Bo asked, “Are there enough lasso poles?”
Bowen laughed, “Lasso poles? No. Texas cowboys never use poles—we use lassos!”
Just like Malong, real experts don’t use poles. They’re too long and unwieldy. A lasso is just a loop of rope you can carry easily.
Five cowboys mounted their horses, even Peterson got interested, though his old horse wasn’t fit for such intense activity.
Wang Bo had free time and fed the newly caught horses, prepared their water, and ensured the stable was more comfortable than the outside. Otherwise, they would try to escape.
Compared to the muddy outdoor ground, the stable had rubber flooring. Mud is cheap, but over time, it gets slippery. Rubber floors are non-slip, waterproof, and durable.
Malong had suggested concrete floors, which are cheap and convenient, but hard and cold in winter. Wang Bo decided to invest in rubber flooring.
The floor was still clean, and the horses had just arrived—people could even sit on it comfortably.
With everyone’s help, more horses were gradually driven into the stable.
Eva’s riding skills were impressive, and she was eager to try. She took the lasso pole and said, “Let me try. I think I can bring back a horse too.”
Wang Bo teased, “You use a lasso, right? Didn’t you say you’re better than me?”
Eva gave him a half-smile. “Don’t you get it? I’m using the pole to protect your face. Otherwise, you’d be the only one who couldn’t use a lasso.”
Wang Bo had no retort.
