HLM -Chapter 1288 Baby

Happy Little Mayor 6 min read 1288 of 1443 22

As soon as they entered the delivery room, the cries of a baby could be heard—loud wails that sounded like someone blowing a little horn.

Seeing Wang Bo, Brother Yi laughed: “What a strong little girl! Come take a look—God wants to show you what an angel looks like.”

The baby was crying in Eva’s arms. Wang Bo looked at Eva and, almost instinctively, said, “You’ve sweated a lot.”

Eva’s golden hair was soaked, strands stuck to her temples, completely drenched in sweat. Her delicate face looked pale, her eyes lacked any sparkle, and she looked utterly exhausted.

The Little girl continued to wail loudly. Eva gave a soft laugh: “Really? I can’t feel anything anymore. For God’s sake, come on, think of a way to calm her down—why is she crying so sadly?”

Once he confirmed that Eva was okay, Wang Bo finally turned his attention to the baby.

The Little girl did seem strong. Her eyes were closed, mouth wide open as she cried, tiny legs kicking energetically. Her little face was chubby, and fine downy hair covered her head, making her look a bit rough around the edges.

But Wang Bo agreed with Brother Yi—after seeing her, he finally understood what an angel really looked like.

The baby was swaddled, and Wang Bo held her in his arms. Rosalie said, “Be careful—are you sure you can handle holding a baby?”

Wang Bo replied, “Which of my kids haven’t I held—Zhuang Ding, Fat Cat, Princess? I’ve raised them all!”

Of course he could hold a baby. Recently, he had been watching videos online to learn the correct way to hold one.

When The Little girl was in his arms, she probably felt separated from her mother, and her cries grew even louder. Wang Bo felt his eardrums starting to ache.

Worried, he asked, “Why is she crying so hard?”

Brother Yi shrugged: “If you leave a warm, comfortable, stress-free environment and enter a harsh, cold, high-pressure new environment, wouldn’t you cry?”

“What?”

“This little girl knows she’s about to face the cruel world—of course she needs a good cry.”

Wang Bo laughed, feeling an unprecedented sense of exhilaration. The baby was finally born. He no longer needed to worry or lose sleep.

Rosalie took the baby to the nursery, while Wang Bo wheeled Eva to her hospital room to rest.

Yawning, Eva said, “This time I’m going to have a proper sleep. Darling, the baby’s in your hands—don’t let her bother me.”

Wang Bo said, “Didn’t you see our parents’ reaction? With them around, there’s no way she can bother you.”

Eva was indeed exhausted. Not just from the childbirth, but she hadn’t been sleeping well over the past six months. She fell into a deep sleep as soon as she got back to the room.

Wang Bo rolled up his sleeves and walked out. Atulu stopped him: “Boss, going to go beat someone up?”

“Shut up. But there is one important thing to deal with—the baby’s name,” Wang Bo said.

Earlier, he had wanted to know the baby’s gender in advance. But at the Auckland hospital, they needed to draw Eva’s blood, and he couldn’t bear to do it, so he put it off.

Later, he realized there was no need to know the gender beforehand. Finding out at birth was a perfect little surprise.

Now that the baby’s gender was revealed—a girl—they needed to give her a name.

Hani was surprised: “Boss, you didn’t prepare a name in advance?”

“We didn’t ask about the gender.”

“Then prepare two names!”

“Of course we did,” Wang Bo waved dismissively. “But just a nickname—Doll. How about that? We decided beforehand that whether it’s a boy or girl, we’d call her Doll.”

“Doll” was the nickname Wang Bo’s parents used for Eva. It had just become habitual for them, so Wang Bo and Eva decided to let the child have the same nickname.

When it came to naming, his team couldn’t help much—English names were fine, but Chinese names were too difficult for them.

Wang Bo and Eva agreed that he would choose the Chinese name and she would pick the English name—each responsible for one.

After a night of work, Wang Bo didn’t feel tired. His subordinates had been busy with him most of the night, so he gave everyone the day off: “From now on, today will be a legal holiday in Sunset Town—everyone gets a day off every year on this date.”

“Just one day? The princess was born—shouldn’t we have a big holiday?” Kidd objected.

Wang Bo said, “Where do you get so many holidays? Or you can pray that my second child is born tomorrow next year, and the third the day after—then maybe you get a holiday.”

Hearing this, Atulu blinked and daydreamed: “If you have seven kids, that’s a week of holidays. Ten kids? Ten days off!”

“F*** off!”

It was early morning. Wang Bo walked out of the hospital, dazed, just as the eastern sun broke the horizon, bathing the town in brilliant rays.

Seeing this, an idea struck him. He turned excitedly: “I know what to name her!”

Atulu was startled: “Boss, calm down! I know you’re excited about your first child, but don’t be so jumpy—think of us!”

Wang Bo pushed him aside and ran to his parents: “Mom, Dad, I know what to name Doll!”

“What?” his father asked.

His mother said, “Actually, your father and I already had some ideas—we had a name ready. Listen…”

“Wang Chuqing.”

“What?” Both parents were stunned.

“Chuqing! Perfect! It snowed heavily before she was born, and after birth, the sun shone brightly—New Zealand welcomed a clear day. Our town is Sunset Town, and Chuqing—sun after snow—is the perfect match!” Wang Bo got more excited as he spoke.

His father hesitated: “Wang Chuqing? Why not just Wang Qingqing? Chuqing could be mistaken for the seventh day of the lunar month.”

Wang Bo shook his head: “Qingqing is too common. Chuqing is better. I’ve decided—this is her name.”

His mother said, “Your dad and I had a few names in mind—want to hear them?”

Wang Bo shook his head firmly: “No, just Wang Chuqing!”

His father, fuming, said: “If you’ve decided, why ask for our opinion?”

Wang Bo chuckled: “I didn’t ask—I’m just informing you.”

Eva slept until evening. When she closed her eyes, the sunrise bathed her in golden light. When she opened them, the sky was filled with sunset.

Wang Bo eagerly told his wife the Chinese name. Eva nodded: “It’s perfect. I’ve thought of the English name too—Aurora. How about that?”

“Aurora?”

“It’s the goddess of dawn. Our daughter was born at dawn, a gift from the goddess herself. This name commemorates her.”

Wang Bo gave a thumbs-up: “Awesome, wife—that’s the name!”
