HLM -Chapter 1287 The Princess Has Arrived

After the lick bricks were made, they couldn’t be taken straight back to Sunset Town—they had to be left to dry.

Under normal circumstances, the drying process took about thirty hours. But with the recent snowfall and the damp weather, at least another ten hours were needed. In other words, they could come back to collect them in two days.

Wang Bo had a hearty meal at Motak’s place, then left little Motak behind to play at his cousin’s house. Two days later, he would bring the lick bricks back with him.

After the heavy snow at the end of August, the weather in New Zealand turned clear. That snowfall seemed to have drained the country of its last bit of cold—by early September, it was already warming up.

The whole Wang family was delighted by this, because Eva’s due date was drawing closer. Giving birth in a warm spring was obviously much better than doing so in the cold of winter.

The hospital for the delivery was chosen to be the community hospital in Sunset Town. This was Eva’s decision. If they went to a big city, it would be much more troublesome—Wang Bo’s parents, Dale, and everyone else would all have to go along.

New Zealanders placed great importance on childbirth, so hospitals were generally very reliable in this regard. The Sunset Town Community Hospital had been steadily expanding and was showing signs of becoming the regional central hospital for the Oak City area.

Wang Bo agreed with Eva’s choice because he knew their own hospital possessed the Heart of Recovery and the Heart of the Hospital. Moreover, the Heart of Recovery had reached Level Three, covering the entire hospital.

Even so, Father Bo and Mother Bo were still a little uneasy. In early September, taking advantage of a moment after dinner, they said to Wang Bo, “Son, how about we just pack up and go to Auckland instead?”

Wang Bo patted their hands and said, “Mom, Dad, don’t worry. Doesn’t Eva go to the big hospital in Auckland every week for checkups? Her physical condition is excellent, and her vitality is very strong. She can give birth just fine at our hospital.”

Father Bo said worriedly, “But this is her first child. There are always more issues with the first. You don’t know—we’re absolutely clear about this.”

Wang Bo replied, “Eva and I are clear about it too. We’ve had detailed discussions with Brother Yi and Rosalie. When the time comes, Brother Yi will bring in an obstetrics expert from Auckland to oversee everything.”

The equipment used during childbirth was roughly the same anyway. Hearing that a specialist from a major hospital would be present, the two elders finally felt reassured.

Although Wang Bo spoke confidently, in truth his own heart was in turmoil—of everyone involved, he was actually the most worried.

Over the next few days, perhaps because he didn’t have the Heart of the Castle, he suffered from insomnia night after night.

Since he couldn’t sleep, he carefully got up and summoned Zhuang Ding and the Fat Cat brothers, wanting to play with them for a while.

The Fat Cat brothers pretended not to see his gesture, burrowed their heads under the blanket, left their big, fat butts sticking out, and slept soundly, snoring away.

Zhuang Ding, loyal to Wang Bo to the core, yawned and came over to keep him company.

Close to midnight, Eva suddenly got up and sucked in a sharp breath. Wang Bo was used to her frequent midnight trips to the bathroom, so he went over and asked, “Do you want me to support you?”

Eva looked at him and chuckled softly. “It might be my water breaking. I think our child can’t wait to come out and see this world.”

Wang Bo froze. “Are you sure? There are still five days until the due date.”

“It’s the first pregnancy,” Eva said. “Due dates aren’t accurate.”

After she said that, Wang Bo also realized that this wasn’t the most important thing right now. What mattered was that Eva was about to give birth—he had to act immediately!

His heart suddenly filled with panic. Wang Bo took a deep breath to calm himself and said, “Darling, don’t be nervous. I’m here. Zhuang Ding is here too! You lie down first—I’ll make the calls right away!”

As he spoke, he pulled out his phone. “Hello, Brother Yi—what? You’re Charlie? Okay, wrong number. Eva’s about to give birth. Help me contact everyone—hurry and get people moving!”

“Brother Yi, is that you? Uh, Little Si? Where’s your dad? Quickly put your dad on the phone! Oh, he’s on duty at the hospital? Great, great!”

“Ambulance? This is… Oh, you already know my wife is going into labor? Who told you? Charlie? Yes, yes, I informed him. Can you hurry up?”

“Mom, Dad, Eva’s about to give birth! Wake up quickly!”

Wang Bo’s parents had been sleeping lightly these days. Hearing him shout, they hurriedly threw on some clothes and ran out of their room. The villa fell into chaos, with Dale and Little Bartier also rushing out.

The little Rottweiler puppies thought it was fun and wagged their round, chubby butts as they went to join the excitement.

The Queen grabbed them one by one in her mouth, shot them a vicious glare, and blocked them on the sofa.

Wang Bo went over to support Eva, tightly holding her hand. “Don’t be nervous. Don’t be nervous…”

“I’m not nervous, baby,” Eva said gently. “You’re the one who needs to relax. I’ve been prepared for a long time. Do you hear that? The ambulance is here. Help me get on.”

Wang Bo knew that she was only putting on a relaxed expression. The way she gripped his hand tightly revealed how nervous and anxious she truly was inside.

The ambulance took them to the hospital. Brother Yi and Rosalie had already been waiting in the delivery room for quite some time. There was also a doctor in his sixties—an expert Brother Yi had invited.

Eva was sent into the delivery room. The expert came over first, patted Wang Bo on the shoulder, and said, “I understand how you feel. Go hold your parents and discuss what name to give the child. Leave the rest to us.”

Wang Bo was frantic. He pushed the doctor along and said, “Okay, okay, we’re fine. Hurry in—don’t worry about us!”

Charlie arrived later with a whole group of people: Uncle Bing and his son, Atulu, Bowen, Kidd, Elizabeth, and others.

Wang Bo paced anxiously back and forth outside the door. Kidd stopped him and said, “Boss, being this anxious won’t help. How about this—calm down and let’s play cards?”

“I’d rather beat you to death,” Wang Bo shoved him aside. “Who the hell can do me a favor and drag this idiot away?”

“I can understand the boss’s anxiety,” Atulu said. “Every time my wife gave birth, I was just as anxious. But really, it’s fine. Boss, Teacher Eva’s condition is much better than my wife’s was. Even my wife could give birth safely—how much more so Eva?”

Wang Bo nodded, but in truth he hadn’t heard a word Atulu said.

He kept pacing at the door until the delivery room door finally opened. Rosalie poked her head out and said, “The princess has arrived.”

Wang Bo waved his hand. “The princess is at home—what do we need her for? Holy—wait, what?!”

Halfway through the sentence, he realized that the “princess” Rosalie was talking about was his daughter!

“A lovely little princess,” Rosalie said with a smile. “Wang, you can come in and take a look first. Then we’ll be sending her to the observation ward.”

Father Bo shouted, “Let me go take a look first! Why haven’t we heard the baby crying?”

Rosalie replied, “Because the soundproofing is very good. We can’t let the outside environment affect the doctors and the mother inside.”

Before she could finish explaining, Wang Bo pushed the door open and rushed in. As he went, he issued an order: “Atulu, block the door! Don’t let a damn soul in!”
