Soon, Wang Bo finally understood why Hani called Robert “an old scoundrel.” He truly was a scoundrel!
For the next week, he basically camped outside the Sunset Town government building, sticking to Wang Bo like a leech, demanding compensation. Wang Bo could never give him any money, so the old man began using every trick in the book to pretend he was being persecuted.
For example, he would rush into the office building, and if a security guard tried to stop him, he’d pretend to be beaten, tear open a blood bag, spill it on himself, and collapse on the floor motionless.
Or he’d grab passing tourists and pedestrians, making up all kinds of lies to appear wronged and gain sympathy.
Wang Bo was completely exasperated. He said to Hani, “Is this really Robert? Such a scoundrel can be a mayor? And for decades?”
Hani sighed, “Do you know how he became mayor?”
Wang Bo shook his head.
Hani continued, “Originally, there was a decent man named Chenik competing against him. He had even more prestige in Tahiti Town. But just before the election, Robert accused him of seducing his wife and even produced photos of him with his wife.”
“Chenik couldn’t explain himself and left in shame. That’s how Robert became mayor of Sunset Town. Ever since, anyone running against him would be smeared. That’s how he stayed in office.”
Wang Bo was dumbfounded. “That’s even allowed?”
Hani shrugged. “I used to think it was unbelievable too. But that’s just the way it is.”
A week later, Robert wasn’t just causing trouble at the office—he even went to his villa to make a scene.
This was the last straw for Wang Bo. He called his men together and said, “How do we deal with this old bastard? I’m about to lose it!”
Atulu, in charge of security, was even more furious: “I’ve already lost it! That old man accused me of messing with his youngest daughter! My wife almost killed me over it!”
Hani said decisively, “Stop entertaining him. Just forcibly remove him from Sunset Town. Boss, you can create a ‘Not Welcome in Sunset Town’ list. Anyone on that list is banned from entering the town forever.”
Wang Bo nodded. That was a good idea. He had Elizabeth immediately draft the notice, design the list format, and include Robert’s name and photo, along with the reason, posting it on every bulletin board in town.
Uncle Bing and Gerald used force to tie up the old man, shoved him into a car, and drove him out of town, barring him from returning.
Wang Bo got out with the dogs and, after releasing them, pointed at Robert: “Listen, if you ever set foot on my land again, you know what happens! This is private property. If you enter without permission, my dogs will tear you apart!”
The dogs bared their sharp teeth, glaring and barking viciously: “Woof! Woof! Woof!”
This truly intimidated Robert. After Wang Bo and his team left, they left the dogs behind.
The mastiff followed Robert, and just as he tried to step back into town, the dog lunged at him, forcing him to retreat. Robert was a scoundrel, but he wasn’t crazy enough to risk his life. Afraid of the dogs, he finally left Sunset Town.
Wang Bo watched from a distance through binoculars. Seeing him board a bus and leave, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. “Time for a vacation.”
Coincidentally, one of his college classmates had immigrated here—Hou Haibo.
Hou Haibo had directly moved to Sunset Town. He continued to follow Li Xing, even back in school before Li Xing entered the military academy. Now, Li Xing was in charge of the Boy Scouts and a real-life military training camp in Sunset Town and needed help. Hou Haibo and his group decided to immigrate, and Li Xing chose Hou Haibo to assist him.
Zhang Rui picked him up in Auckland. Together with his girlfriend Zhao Xiaohui, the three flew over.
Wang Bo met them at the airport. After greeting them, he hugged Hou Haibo first, then opened his arms to Zhao Xiaohui: “And who’s this little lady? So fresh and lovely! Come on, let uncle hold you.”
Zhang Rui pushed him away, laughing and scolding, “Cut it out. Xiaohui is a goddess—you can only admire from afar, got it?”
Zhao Xiaohui smiled: “Right, I’m a goddess, but I’m your goddess. As for Wang Bo, he’s a landlord, not a goddess.”
Wang Bo wagged his finger: “Don’t talk nonsense. I do have a goddess. My Eva is my goddess.”
Hou Haibo laughed: “Yo yo yo, a group of fine men. Xing Ye, do you have a goddess?”
Li Xing said, “Yes, you know, Zhao Yazhi.”
“That’s her mother, isn’t it?” Wang Bo smiled wryly.
As they walked out of the airport, Hou Haibo looked around and asked, “Wang Bo, is this airport your private property?”
Wang Bo nodded, “Yes, you could say it’s mine. Others invested and built it for me.”
Hou Haibo asked, “What about the planes inside?”
Wang Bo shook his head. “What are you joking? Planes have airline logos. That’s none of my business.”
Li Xing pointed to two helicopters parked side by side in the distance: “Those aren’t his. But these two are, and there’s a small one farther off. Can you see it? That one too.”
“What kind of plane is that small one?” Hou Haibo asked in surprise.
“A Gyrocopter,” Qingyang couldn’t help but chuckle.
This gyrocopter had been modified for police use, equipped with a super bright spotlight—another famous feature of Sunset Town.
Hou Haibo admired, “Wang Bo really has it all, like a young lady.”
“What do you mean?”
“Ever-changing, every time different,” Hou Haibo said.
Wang Bo laughed helplessly: “You guys really don’t behave like subordinates. I’m your boss, your direct leader, understand?”
Hou Haibo looked at Li Xing: “Xing Ye, didn’t you say you were my direct leader?”
Li Xing said, “Yes, Wang Bo isn’t your direct leader.”
Wang Bo said, “But I provide the meals. Whoever’s impressive, if I don’t feed them, they starve.”
“Right. So what’s for lunch today?” Zhao Xiaohui asked eagerly.
“It’s really a treat. I usually don’t share with just anyone.” Wang Bo took them to the villa to drop off their things and then started preparing lunch.
Looking at the luxurious villa, Zhang Rui said, “Wang Bo, I don’t like coming here. Every time I visit, I feel inferior. Back in college, we were all so different—one washing feet in a basin, one playing cards in bed, another taking a dump in a pit…”
“Can you not be so disgusting?” Zhao Xiaohui patted him.
Zhang Rui complained, “I’m not exaggerating. Wang Bo used to sneak into our dorms to use the toilet.”
Wang Bo said, “Do you know how the people who begged with Zhu Yuanzhang back then died?”
