After much discussion in the group chat, it was finally decided: Wang Bo’s university classmates were really going to immigrate together.

In recent years, New Zealand had tightened its immigration policies, so even though it was a country welcoming immigrants, completing the immigration process was still difficult.

Without Wang Bo’s help, his classmates wouldn’t have been able to immigrate, but with Wang Bo stepping in, moving to New Zealand would be no problem at all. After all, the ruling party now was the Labour–Green coalition, and Wang Bo was one of the key members of the Green Party.

Having his classmates immigrate over wouldn’t help him much in his career, but it would greatly expand his social circle.

New Zealanders loved throwing parties, but unless he organized them himself, Wang Bo rarely attended. With his university classmates coming over, things would become interesting—he’d suddenly have many more gatherings he could join.

The longer people stayed abroad, the more they missed their hometown and the friends and family back home. So having his close classmates come over would make Wang Bo very happy.

He assigned this task to Na Qingyang, asking him to liaise with his classmates and help them with immigration. Whatever resources were needed, Na Qingyang would let him know, and Wang Bo would arrange them.

After the New Year, Wang Bo had aged another year.

Near the end of the first month of the lunar calendar, Father Bo said, “Xiao Bo, have you thought about when you’re going to marry Eva? She’s already carrying one of our Wang Bo family kids.”

Wang Bo replied, “We’ve already gotten married. Didn’t I show you the marriage certificate?”

Father Bo rolled his eyes. “Of course I know that. I’m talking about the wedding ceremony. You know, a wedding is what really completes a marriage.”

Wang Bo thought for a moment and said, “First, we have to wait until Eva gives birth. She can’t show up at the wedding with a big belly, right? That would ruin her image. I have to plan a wedding that will truly surprise her.”

Father Bo shook his head. “I don’t understand you young people. Fine, plan it yourselves. A wedding back home doesn’t need surprises. I’ll even pick a date for you in advance, and you can hold the ceremony then.”

“Hold one back home too?”

Mother Bo sneered. “Of course. Otherwise, how could your father show off in front of his buddies?”

Father Bo snapped, “I’m not showing off! I just want to prove to Wang Laosi, the Lame One, and Pipe Guy that our Wang Bo has really made something of himself.”

Wang Bo smiled wryly. “You really need to prove that?”

“Of course,” Father Bo said. “You have no idea. Those guys are bad news. They used to say you were running a pyramid scheme in New Zealand. Later, when they saw you succeeding, they said that if you hadn’t married yet, there must be something wrong.”

Wang Bo was puzzled. “Something wrong with me?”

“Yeah, that you like men,” Father Bo said indignantly.

Wang Bo immediately glared. “Then the wedding back home must be a huge affair!”

By March, New Zealand’s hottest season was ending, and the weather was shifting into autumn. The small town airport was finally ready for full operation.

Juan had recruited a technical team from the New Zealand National Aviation Group. After completing various inspections and receiving the Wellington government’s operational approval, Sunset Town officially had its own airport.

From this perspective, it now qualified to be New Zealand’s top small town. Queenstown also had an airport, but despite having “town” in its name, Queenstown was actually a city.

Strictly speaking, Sunset Town had become New Zealand’s number one small town. And if you considered GDP, fame, or population, it was already the country’s top town in every respect.

By late February, summer was fading, and autumn gradually arrived in Sunset Town. However, the “autumn tiger” was fierce—the weather seemed hotter than the past two months, especially since the South Island had seen no rain lately. It was not only hot but also very dry.

The Hillside Hotel was bustling with construction. After a period of intensive work, the first prefabricated cottage was completed.

Calling it a “hotel” was a bit of a stretch—each hill could only accommodate one or two rooms. The larger hills already had pavilions built on them, leaving limited space for construction.

The prefabricated cottages had a homey style, decorated in a family-friendly way. The small door opened on the hill’s lower level. Wang Bo looked at the door, smaller than a bedroom door, and sighed: “It’s over… Yao Ming won’t fit in here.”

“Who?”

“Yao Ming, former NBA player, and Shaquille O’Neal. You know them, right?” Wang Bo asked.

The hotel’s designer, also an artist, laughed: “Of course I know them. At least I know NBA—they’re all big guys, right? If they were as tall as Mr. Dayan Mihail Abranovic, of course they wouldn’t fit.”

Dayan Mihail Abranovic, a Serbian immigrant woodcarver, was the tallest man in town. He had carved parts of the wooden framework in the Hillside Hotel.

Hearing this, the tall woodcarver working nearby laughed: “Wow, Oladi, you really overestimate me. Next to Yao Ming and O’Neal, I’m like a child.”

Wang Bo said, “You’re being modest.”

Wang Bo was at least 2.1 meters tall and very strong, probably weighing around 300 pounds—not much smaller than NBA centers.

As they chatted, Oladi opened the door and gestured for Wang Bo to come in.

Wang Bo still had some concerns. “It’s stable, right? Safe enough?”

Oladi said nothing, just went in himself.

Seeing that, Wang Bo relaxed. He bent down and crawled inside. It was a living room, surprisingly spacious—over fifty square meters.

Below the living room was more space—Oladi said it was the bedroom. The bathroom was inside the living room. There was no kitchen or study, just a main hall and two bedrooms.

Wang Bo said, “Does it need to be this big? Wouldn’t it be better to have more rooms?”

The living room was quite open, about 2.4 meters high—not oppressive. Windows on all sides tilted outward, just like the door, opening into the hillside.

Wang Bo opened one window and saw a sloped hill outside, planted with violets and hyacinths in interlaced purple and red—a beautiful sight.

There was no air conditioning in the cottage, but the temperature was very comfortable. Opening the windows created airflow that made it even cooler. Wang Bo sat on the sofa, feeling as relaxed as he would at home.

“Very nice. Living here is really comfortable,” Wang Bo said, nodding.

Oladi smiled: “This room is for families visiting Sunset Town. See all the frames on the walls? When you start taking reservations, guests can send you photos they like. You print them out and put them in the frames—it gives them a ‘home away from home’ feeling right away.”
