Inside Qilin Hall, there was dead silence.

Three thousand black-clad figures stood like silent statues, completely sealing off the grand hall.

The murderous aura radiating from them felt almost tangible, causing the pampered civil officials—long accustomed to comfort within the imperial court—to have their legs go weak, barely able to remain standing.

The several dozen halberd-bearing guards responsible for protecting the hall were even more terrified, as though facing a great enemy.

The leader of the guards had turned deathly pale, but duty forced him to step forward.

“Who are you people?!”

“How dare you trespass into Qilin Hall! This is treason!”

His voice trembled slightly from fear.

No one answered him.

Only one Jinyiwei standing at the very front slowly raised his head.

He wore the same flying-fish uniform as the others, but embroidered across his robe with golden thread was a savage over-the-shoulder dragon.

His expression remained emotionless as he calmly glanced at the guard captain.

That single glance made the captain’s hair stand on end, and he subconsciously took half a step back.

Realizing his loss of composure, he flew into a rage out of embarrassment and shouted to bolster his courage:

“Seize them!”

Yet none of the guards behind him dared to move.

Unable to save face, the captain roared furiously and personally charged forward with his halberd.

“You’re courting death!”

The halberd pierced through the air straight toward the Jinyiwei leader’s chest.

It was a standard killing technique used by the Great Qin military—fast, precise, and ruthless.

However—

The Jinyiwei leader did not move at all.

Only when the spear tip was about to touch his chest did he suddenly extend two fingers like lightning.

There was no loud metallic clash.

Only a crisp ding.

Under everyone’s horrified gaze, the Jinyiwei leader had actually caught the incoming halberd tip firmly between two fingers!

The guard captain used all his strength, yet the halberd would not budge an inch.

“T-This is impossible!”

The Jinyiwei leader’s eyes remained utterly indifferent as his fingers lightly twisted.

Crack!

The finely forged iron halberd was twisted apart like a braided rope!

Before the captain could even react, his wrist went numb and half the broken weapon flew from his grasp.

The next instant, a hand pressed down onto his shoulder.

Bang!

The captain’s body, weighing over eighty kilograms, was forcibly slammed to his knees.

His knees crashed against the golden floor tiles with a dull thunderous sound.

The dozens of guards behind him were so frightened that they retreated in unison, their weapons clattering onto the floor.

The entire sequence flowed like water, impossibly fast.

From the moment of his shout to the instant he was subdued, it had taken only the blink of an eye.

Every civil and military official in the hall witnessed the scene firsthand.

Those were elite guards responsible for protecting Qilin Hall!

And yet they had been… instantly defeated?

Chunyu Yue’s flushed old face turned deathly pale in an instant.

He looked at the captain kneeling on the ground, then at the endless sea of black figures outside the hall.

His lips trembled as though he wanted to say something, but not a single word came out.

The “rites and laws” he had always taken pride in, the “rules” he had desperately tried to defend, appeared as fragile as paper before the absolute violence of this army.

With a thud, he collapsed onto the floor.

Li Si stood at the head of the civil officials, his back already drenched in cold sweat.

His gaze was not on the subdued captain.

Instead, he stared fixedly at the flying-fish robe worn by the Jinyiwei leader—and at the unfamiliar embroidered spring saber hanging from his waist.

Li Si was thoroughly familiar with every standard military system in the Great Qin Empire.

But this army… he had never even heard of it before!

Their equipment was far superior to the border armies!

Their discipline surpassed even the Iron Eagle Elite!

Most terrifying of all, there was no reverence for Great Qin’s laws in their eyes—only absolute obedience to that eight-year-old child!

A private army!

This was a force belonging solely to the Ninth Young Master!

Li Si felt as though an invisible hand had seized his throat, making it hard for him to breathe.

Ying Ziye sat high upon the steps, taking in every expression in the hall.

His little legs swung back and forth, and his tiny face was filled with innocent curiosity.

“My lords,” the childish voice rang out.

“Have any of you ever seen such elite soldiers within Great Qin?”

Those words struck everyone’s heart like a heavy hammer.

Indeed.

If Great Qin truly possessed such an elite force, why would they fear failing to destroy the Xiongnu? Why would the Baiyue remain unconquered?

Yet such a divine army was actually controlled by an eight-year-old child!

And worse still—it was being used against the empire’s highest-ranking court officials!

Ying Ziye’s gaze slowly moved before finally settling on Chancellor Li Si.

He said nothing.

He merely looked at him quietly.

For a moment, Li Si became the center of attention.

Everyone knew that the Chancellor’s decision would determine the final outcome of today’s earth-shattering upheaval.

Would he continue defending the old order and oppose this unfathomable Ninth Young Master to the bitter end?

Or… choose submission?

Time passed second by second.

Inside Qilin Hall, the atmosphere grew so oppressive that people could barely breathe.

Finally—

Under the watch of hundreds of eyes—

Li Si, Chancellor of the Great Qin Empire, the man who stood above all others save the Emperor himself, slowly and painfully… bent his proud waist.

He gave a deep bow, lowering his head.

He had submitted.

Seeing this, Ying Ziye’s lips curled slightly upward, revealing two adorable little tiger teeth.

He stood up from the steps and lightly clapped his small hands.

The innocence on his face vanished instantly, replaced by a coldness and authority completely out of place for his age.

“Yan Le colluded with the Six Kingdoms, embezzled the national treasury, and sought to overthrow Great Qin. The evidence is conclusive—his crimes are unforgivable!”

His voice was not loud, yet every word pierced the heart like an icy wind blowing from the depths of the underworld.

At that moment, the fear of the assembled officials reached its peak.

No one dared to raise their head anymore.

No one dared to question him again.

Ying Ziye waved his little hand toward the officials in the hall who had already collapsed in terror.

“Anyone whose name is called out, along with all their accomplices—arrest them all!”

“Throw them into the Black Ice Terrace prison and interrogate them thoroughly!”

“Jinyiwei!”

From outside the hall, the three thousand men roared in unison, their voices shaking the heavens.

“At your command!”

Ying Ziye’s childish voice carried an unquestionable killing intent.

“Seize them.”
