But since she had delivered herself to him, she couldn’t blame him anymore…
A flush spread rapidly across Yu Wei’s cheeks. She turned her head, only for his hand to land softly on her face.
She collapsed onto the bed with a shiver, letting out a faint whimper. The bright overhead light was turned off in an instant, leaving only a small, dim lamp glowing. She suddenly felt a chill as the blanket was lifted and the pillow was tossed to the foot of the bed.
Huo Mingwang narrowed his eyes slightly, teasing, “Regret it? Scared now?”
Yu Wei nodded hard, only to hear him chuckle lightly. He pinched her chin with mockery in his voice: “Too late.”
Just as she was about to escape, he grabbed her slim waist, locked her in with both hands, and held her so tightly she couldn’t budge.
Once Yu Wei finally stopped struggling, Huo Mingwang sat up. With practiced ease, he reached behind and tugged at his pajama collar. The clothes slid off effortlessly and were flung somewhere—who knows where they landed.
The heat from the man’s body surged before her eyes like a wave.
Though the dim lighting made things unclear, Yu Wei could still make out his bare, smooth, strong torso.
She had to admit, this man’s physique was excellent—so much so that she couldn’t look away.
Especially around his abdomen—those lines were beautiful and fluid. The way his body stretched when he undressed a moment ago brought out the toned, narrow waist and the sharply defined muscles of his back in stunning detail.
If Yu Wei had her memories from years ago, she would’ve noticed that the definition in Huo Mingwang’s abs was even deeper than before. The visible, rhythmic ridges of his muscles were like finely sculpted art from the gods.
And under the faint, ambiguous glow of the bedside lamp, his wheat-toned skin shimmered with a hazy golden tint.
In that moment, she felt like she was in a beautiful dream—unsure of what was real and what wasn’t.
The overwhelming energy of the man’s presence came crashing down on her. Yu Wei’s breath caught.
His body… seemed even more impressive than when she had caught a glimpse last time…
Before she could think further, her vision was suddenly plunged into darkness—he had turned off the last light. Now she couldn’t see anything at all.
And then, his lips found hers. She could feel nothing but his dominating breath wrapping around hers, her heart racing as if she were standing at the edge of a cliff.
It’s over—it was pure impulse!
…
Throughout the entire night, Yu Wei’s emotions went from nervousness to unease, and finally to desperation as she pushed at the man beside her.
She didn’t know how she managed to endure for so long, but the exhaustion in her body made it clear—they couldn’t go on like this.
“I’m so tired… let’s sleep, I’m really sleepy…”
“I’m not tired. It’s only two in the morning…”
Her red lips were captured again. Amidst the kisses, he asked, “What about Yu Hui? Will he wake up suddenly? What if he starts crying?”
“No… he won’t…” Yu Wei groaned softly, “Mm… once he’s asleep, he usually doesn’t wake up…”
Huo Mingwang chuckled twice and resumed the kiss.
“No wonder you were willing to leave him behind and come find me…”
His words made Yu Wei feel instantly like some mother who ditched her child for a man. She pouted and glared at him—though it was too dark for him to see.
By the faint moonlight outside the window, she could vaguely make out the outline of his rugged side profile.
Entranced by his looks again, she dazedly reached out, wrapped her arms around his warm neck, and kissed his slightly parted lips.
They didn’t sleep the entire night.
…
By the next morning, light gradually broke through the window.
The faint dawn spilled over the two of them wrapped in each other’s arms.
A warm hand brushed over Yu Wei’s flushed cheeks. She rubbed her eyes and slapped away the hand causing trouble. As her awareness slowly returned, she felt a deep ache all over.
Huo Mingwang turned on his side and pulled his little wife into his arms. Seeing that she was about to wake up, he quickly held his breath and pretended to be asleep.
When Yu Wei woke up, her consciousness was still fuzzy. She barely opened one eye and saw a tall figure in front of her.
For a moment, her mind was blank. But then, fragmented memories flashed through her head.
They were all hazy, dreamy, and utterly indescribable.
Her face turned beet red in an instant. But… with the golden sunlight casting onto his handsome face, she couldn’t help but look at him in a daze.
Unconsciously, she leaned in and kissed his cheek.
Realizing what she had just done, she quickly pulled back, then oddly smiled sweetly. With a small grin, she dove into his chest and rubbed against him. That gentle motion was enough to ignite a fire in him.
He faked a sleepy mumble and furrowed his brows like he was waking up. Yu Wei panicked and instinctively tried to pull away—but he held her tightly, not loosening his grip even in his “sleep.”
As he felt her soft body squirming against him, Huo Mingwang couldn’t hold back anymore. He opened his eyes and looked at her.
Their gazes met.
His hand held her slender waist—it felt smooth and firm. Tracing over her body, he could feel her defined figure. It was hard to believe she had already had a child.
Maybe it was her genes, or maybe it was her active lifestyle—often jogging, walking in the park with Yu Hui—that gave her such a great figure.
“Awake?” his deep, husky voice suddenly sounded in the quiet room.
Yu Wei was startled and let out a soft groan, “…Mm.”
She tried to get up, but her aching body betrayed her, and she fell right back into his chest.
He laughed and rolled her over beneath him.
“How was last night…”
Before he could finish the sentence, Yu Wei’s face turned completely red, even down her neck. She immediately cut him off, “You dare bring that up?!”
Their eyes locked. Yu Wei pounded her fist against his chest angrily. “My throat was sore from yelling last night! Why didn’t you stop?!”
Huo Mingwang chuckled, took her hand, and kissed the back of it. “That’s… out of my control.”
It had been five or six years since he last had anything like this. There was no way he could restrain himself—especially not with the woman he had longed for day and night.
And besides, he never planned to restrain himself!
Of course, he wouldn’t say that out loud. Seeing her anger rising, he quickly hugged her close, “Okay, okay, don’t be mad.”
Neither of them were wearing clothes. Huo Mingwang raised his arm toward her, “It’s true, I was wrong last night. I didn’t take your condition into account. Here, bite me to vent.”
Yu Wei stared at the muscular arm in front of her. It was solid and well-proportioned—tempting to the point of frustration.
Grinding her teeth, she didn’t hold back. She bit down hard.
Her neat white teeth sank in deeply, and the man gasped from the pain.
After biting several times, she left a whole row of marks on his shoulder. She really did feel a lot better after that.
“Feel better now?”
Yu Wei huffed and turned away, “Hmph.”
He rubbed her head, then massaged his shoulder, running his fingers over the teeth marks. Reaching for the shirt on the nightstand, he prepared to put it on.
“Wait,” Yu Wei stopped him instinctively, not even thinking. She grabbed his arm. “Don’t put it on yet!”
Huo Mingwang looked confused, sitting shirtless on the bed, holding the shirt awkwardly. He looked like the victim here.
As the breeze sent chills down his spine, he blinked at her. “What is it?”
Yu Wei huffed and snatched the shirt from his hands, hugging it to her chest. “You’re not allowed to wear clothes—punishment!”
Because… she hadn’t gotten enough of the view. The eye candy was just too tempting!
Huo Mingwang was stunned for a moment before he burst out laughing. He flicked her nose gently.
“What, like my body that much?”
“No!” she denied quickly, but her eyes didn’t look away.
He couldn’t help but laugh again. “Then you wear it?”
“Why would I wear your shirt?!” she hugged the shirt to her chest, blocking out the pale skin beneath.
But it did make her think of how, decades from now, in dramas, the female lead would wear the male lead’s shirt—how suggestive!
“If you’re not wearing it, give it back.” He reached out to grab it. But Yu Wei quickly hid it behind her back.
Which led to…
He cleared his throat, “…Um, you’re exposed.”
Yu Wei’s face turned scarlet. She dove under the covers, and Huo Mingwang smirked and followed her in.
His hands started roaming again. Yu Wei thought he was after the shirt and shoved it under the mattress.
“No! You’re not allowed to wear it!”
Huo Mingwang couldn’t help but laugh. Hugging her, he cupped her face and showered her with kisses. “Why not?”
Yu Wei stroked his abs, feeling utterly satisfied.
“Because I want to touch,” she said confidently, not even realizing how bold she was being.
In front of this tempting man, Yu Wei completely let go. Maybe it was because she wasn’t fully awake—she didn’t even realize what she was saying.
Huo Mingwang stared at her pouting lips glowing under the sunlight. His gaze locked with hers—bright, clear, and filled only with him.
Nothing else existed in her eyes.
Suddenly, he smirked mischievously. “Yu Wei, just touching isn’t fun enough…”
The moment he said it, Yu Wei knew exactly what he was thinking.
She covered his lips quickly, eyebrows raised. “Don’t you dare!”
He chuckled, brushing her flushed temple. His hoarse voice was low and intoxicating.
His eyes darkened as he slowly lowered her hand. “I only want to do bad things—to you.”
“Huo Mingwang…” Yu Wei looked into his wolfish eyes and felt his burning breath. She panicked instantly.
But he didn’t give her a chance to resist. While she was dazed, he kissed her again, deeply.
He cradled her head and ran his other hand down her back…
Very quickly, that hand slid into forbidden territory.
Yu Wei’s heart trembled as last night’s memories surged back.
She pushed at him weakly, “No, don’t… Huo Mingwang, I was just joking, move… Huihui will wake up soon… go away…”
Breathing heavily, Huo Mingwang lifted his head from her neck. “Who teased me first?”
Yu Wei was flustered but stubborn. “Who knows? Wasn’t me.”
“Wasn’t you…?”
Seeing the heat rising in his gaze, she coughed, “I was wrong, okay? Huo Mingwang, let go—I need to cook and take Huihui to school.”
Ugh, she never should’ve flirted with a man who just broke a long dry spell!
Truly regretting it!
But how could Huo Mingwang stop just because she asked?
By the time Yu Wei managed to get dressed and leave, her legs felt weak. She had the nagging feeling someone was watching her, so she picked up her pace and slipped into the room next door.
“Mama—! Where did you go?!”
As soon as she opened the door, the guilty mother locked eyes with her son, who was standing by the wardrobe picking out clothes.
