“Chirp!”
This is something the bird is giving to Little Wu. No other humans are allowed to touch it.
Facing the little bird’s domineering threat, Lou Xiaotian could only hold back tears as he reluctantly put it down.
A treasure mountain was right in front of him, yet he couldn’t take a single step forward—who could understand this heartache?
Qin Zhan understood.
He understood it very well!
Because among these crystals, some were even things that the Saint Sword Sect didn’t possess.
And now, all of them were placed in front of Lu Wu for her to choose freely.
Under the lifeless gazes of the two men, Lu Wu coughed lightly and walked into the pile of crystals, picking stones that caught her eye.
She didn’t plan to take everything. After all, the stone people hadn’t provoked her.
Maybe this was their food storage. It wouldn’t be right to leave them starving afterward.
With that thought in mind, Lu Wu took roughly one-third of the crystals. Some of them were even selected only after Qin Zhan and Lou Xiaotian’s eyes twitched wildly in silent hints.
Good stuff!
She could clearly read those three words from their expressions.
With her pockets now noticeably fuller, Lu Wu picked up Huohuo, who was still urging her to continue selecting, and shook her head.
“Enough. Let’s go back.”
The stone people were innocent too. Her conscience was starting to ache faintly.
“Chirp!”
Huohuo understood Lu Wu’s meaning and pecked her cheek.
Little Wu Wu, I’ll find you even better things in the future.
Anyway, all the demonic beasts in this secret realm were her little followers. As the boss, taking things from subordinates was only natural.
The tyrant Huohuo led Lu Wu and the others back the way they came.
Light appeared ahead—they were about to exit the stone cavern. Lu Wu glanced outside, then quickly retreated and hid behind Qin Zhan and Lou Xiaotian.
She still remembered Elder Li’s instructions: know how to use “tools.”
Qin Zhan adjusted his expression and looked at the stone people gathered outside, all standing in formation. His hand slowly moved behind his back, ready to draw his sword at any moment.
It was over.
The stone people had gone into a rage.
So many of them gathered together—it looked like they were about to fight.
The leading elder stone man had a cultivation level Qin Zhan couldn’t even fully perceive. This was going to be a hard battle.
Was it really worth going through all this just for food?
Qin Zhan’s answer was firm: it was worth it!
Because it was just too damn delicious.
Thinking of the food in his storage space, Qin Zhan straightened his face.
No matter what, he had to ensure Lu Wu could leave safely.
Lou Xiaotian felt the same.
As their auras rose and their fighting intent surged, Lu Wu, hiding behind them, poked her head out and said weakly:
“They… don’t seem like they’re here to fight.”
She couldn’t fully understand the situation, but Huohuo, who was sitting on her shoulder, hadn’t reacted at all—so she made that guess.
“Ang!”
A stone man let out a roar. Suddenly, a small stone man darted forward like lightning and hugged Lu Wu’s leg.
The speed was so fast it was shocking.
Who would have thought such a bulky stone creature could move like the wind?
The little stone man pressed its hands together, its large ruby-like eyes pure and untainted.
It held something out in front of Lu Wu.
It was the bowl used for ice jelly.
“You still want ice jelly?”
Lu Wu asked tentatively.
The little stone man nodded vigorously.
“Ang!”
Humans, fragrant, want to eat!
The moment it finished speaking, Huohuo pecked it on the head. Despite being tiny in size compared to the stone man, it acted without hesitation.
In front of Huohuo, however, the stone man immediately lowered its head submissively.
“Chirp!”
Humans are mine, not allowed to eat. Try it and I’ll eat you first!
Huohuo hopped on the stone man’s head, pecking from time to time.
Its beak was unusually hard—despite the stone being solid, every peck chipped off a tiny piece.
“Ang!”
The little stone man winced in pain and buried itself into Lu Wu’s arms.
Stone baby only eats ice jelly, not humans.
The stone man had been wrongly accused by the fierce bird. It felt wronged—but it didn’t say anything.
Lu Wu, being stared at so pitifully, felt like the little thing was acting spoiled.
She patted its head while holding it. It was surprisingly heavy, like a small furnace.
Then she soothed Huohuo.
“I don’t have any ice jelly left. The rest was given to you earlier.”
“If you still want more, come find me tomorrow morning at the stone stele. You know where it is, right?”
The stone people all nodded immediately.
“I’ll make more tomorrow. I’ll wait for you.”
Feeling the soreness in her arms, Lu Wu reluctantly put the little stone man down.
Honestly, it felt warm and soft to hold—quite comfortable.
“Ang!”
With Lu Wu’s promise, the stone people stepped aside, respectfully seeing them off.
Qin Zhan and Lou Xiaotian exchanged a glance, both falling silent.
Another day of being carried.
Why did they feel a little useless?
It must be an illusion. Definitely an illusion.
After leaving the stone people’s territory, Qin Zhan frowned and said:
“That group of stone people… should be descendants of the Giant Tribe recorded in ancient texts.”
According to legend, the Giant Tribe was born from a mix of human and beast bloodlines, resulting in their unusual form.
In battle, they could change size, possessing immense strength capable of rivaling the heavens. They were an ancient and terrifying race.
But for unknown reasons, they disappeared into the river of history, leaving only fragmented records in ancient books.
Many people now believed the Giant Tribe was merely a fabrication.
Yet today, its legacy had appeared before them—its reputation still terrifying.
After wandering around the area and collecting some spiritual fruits to supplement ingredients for ice jelly, night soon fell, and Lu Wu’s group returned to the stone stele.
With Qin Zhan and Lou Xiaotian taking turns on guard, Lu Wu slept soundly.
On the other hand, the two men sat back-to-back, scanning their surroundings with sharp vigilance, enduring a sleepless night.
Night concealed everything.
Qin Zhan’s spiritual sense detected groups of demonic beasts lurking nearby.
They did not attack—instead, they seemed to be waiting for something with unusual patience.
Even without movement, being surrounded like this made it impossible for the two to remain calm.
The night passed under tense vigilance.
When the morning sun rose in the east, painting the sky with brilliant dawn light—
Lu Wu stretched lazily, only to see dark circles under both men’s eyes.
A strangely familiar scene.
“Do you feel like the temperature in the secret realm is getting higher?”
Qin Zhan squatted down and touched the ground. The heat was enough to burn his fingers. After carefully sensing it, he asked Lou Xiaotian in confusion.
It might just be his imagination, but today felt hotter than yesterday.
A sense of urgency rose in his heart.
Lou Xiaotian nodded—clearly, the secret realm really was changing.
Lu Wu, however, shook her head blankly.
She didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. In fact, she felt relaxed, like she was at home.
After a simple breakfast, Lu Wu set up her stall.
A new day had begun—where were her customers?
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Several sonic booms rang out. Lu Wu looked up—and saw hordes of demonic beasts pouring in from all directions, all staring at them hungrily.
