“What’s your name?”
The boy’s mouth was stuffed full of food. Just moments ago, he had looked like an immaculate celestial child untouched by mortal dust. Now, however, he resembled a chubby lucky doll that had fallen into the mortal world, eating with great enthusiasm.
“My surname is Lu. Most customers like to call me Boss Lu.”
As Lu Wu replied, she noticed the youth pause briefly. He looked up into the sky, his tone turning vicious.
“Why are all of you sending me voice transmissions? If you want to know what this thing is and whether it’s edible, come down and try it yourselves instead of bothering me.”
“Tch. A bunch of demons and monsters scared of a potato strip? So timid and hesitant. If this is how you are, stop talking about fighting to the bitter end. Just find a noodle and hang yourselves with it.”
“What a waste of time.”
He spoke those words aloud. Though his voice was not loud, it echoed throughout the heavens.
Yet despite his complaints, the way he kept stuffing one fry after another into his mouth made it obvious that he loved the food.
Even some distant figures stopped fighting and began watching.
Under countless gazes, Lu Wu smiled brightly.
“Seniors, would anyone like a serving of fries? Delicious and non-heaty!”
Having the courage to advertise under such circumstances, Lu Wu felt she had truly become seasoned.
No one responded.
A little awkward.
Lu Wu desperately maintained her smile.
In reality, her toes were already digging a three-bedroom apartment into the insides of her shoes.
Seeing that attracting customers had failed, she could only give up.
Fortunately, this mission didn’t require her to sell a specific number of portions.
Glancing at the system, she saw that the first day’s sales task had indeed been completed.
Since no one else paid her any attention, Lu Wu pulled out a small stool, sat down, and prepared herself a combo serving.
She hadn’t even tasted it yet.
“Got another stool?”
The youth moved beside her and asked with a smile. His handsome face was delicate and refined.
“Yes.”
Unmoved by his good looks, Lu Wu produced another small stool and handed it to him.
The two sat shoulder to shoulder, eating delicious food right in the middle of a battlefield soaked with bloodshed.
The freshly fried fries were still scorching hot, their heat tingling her fingertips.
A fry trembled lightly between her fingers as Lu Wu dipped it into ketchup and tossed it into her mouth.
Sour.
Sweet.
Fragrant.
There was also the subtle natural sweetness of the potato itself.
As expected of fries—the universal favorite of adults, children, good people, and bad people alike.
They really were fantastic.
Nothing was more lethal than a live mukbang.
Not only could everyone see the fries’ attractive appearance, but they could also smell the aroma carried by the wind.
Mixed into the scent of blood, the fragrance was uniquely enticing, causing some beings lost in slaughter to regain their senses.
Sharp swords lowered.
Some gazed down at the tiny human below, thoughtful expressions appearing on their faces.
To eat…
Or not to eat.
When the youth finished the final fry, he reluctantly used his fingertip to scrape up the remaining ketchup and licked it clean.
After smacking his lips a few times and wiping away the grease at the corner of his mouth, he looked toward Lu Wu, ready to place another order.
The next instant, a streak of red light shot across the horizon directly at him.
“You’re courting death!”
The smiling youth’s expression instantly turned cold. The killing intent in his eyes was chilling.
“Boss Lu, I’m going to kill a dog. Just wait here for me.”
With that, he shot straight into the sky.
Fortunately, he wasn’t going to buy oranges.
Watching his departing figure, Lu Wu readily agreed.
Snacking while enjoying a show—what could be better?
Ding!
Just as she was staring upward without blinking, a sound rang out behind her.
Turning around, she saw a shifty-looking figure wielding a pitch-black dagger, stabbing toward her back.
Bad news: she hadn’t noticed the sneak attack.
Good news: the sneak attack had completely failed.
A fry hung from Lu Wu’s lips. Startled by the sudden appearance, she bit down and snapped it in half.
“…What are you doing?”
She looked at him in confusion.
You little trash. Sneak attacking? You can’t afford to play fair?
The attacker could hardly describe his shock.
Failed?
He refused to believe it.
Seeing that Lu Wu didn’t even bother backing away, he raised the dagger and stabbed at her again.
Clang!
The dagger struck an invisible barrier and failed to break through.
Though she was right in front of him, Lu Wu remained completely unharmed after two sneak attacks.
“Hand over your treasure!”
Under Lu Wu’s gaze—as though she were looking at an idiot—the attacker roared and reached out to grab her.
He didn’t believe anyone was invincible, but he did believe she possessed some supreme treasure.
“No, seriously. If you can’t break my defense, at least stop getting handsy.”
Lu Wu felt rather depressed.
System, he wants me to hand you over. Aren’t you going to do something?
At that moment, the system and Lu Wu were united in spirit.
A force burst from Lu Wu’s body, sending the attacker flying. He crashed into the ground, kicking up clouds of dust.
Good news: the enemy flew away.
Bad news: the “where there’s dust, there’s no damage” rule was real.
The attacker stood back up.
Sure enough, her attack power on this battlefield really was zero.
After checking himself and confirming he wasn’t injured, the attacker’s gaze toward Lu Wu grew even more heated.
“I’ll—”
Smack!
Before he could continue, a celestial child descended from the sky and planted a foot on the attacker’s head, stomping it all the way into his torso.
The attacker died on the spot.
His corpse immediately transformed into a fat rat.
“So you sneak-attacked while I was away? Hah. As expected of a shameless dead rat with no skin and no face. You stink.”
Disgust flashed across the youth’s face as he kicked the corpse into the air, where it exploded.
The scene was far too beautiful.
Lu Wu declined to describe it.
She quietly looked away.
Mother of heaven, that’s terrifying. Better calm down with another fry.
“Boss Lu, I’m back!”
After finishing his business, the youth returned gracefully in green robes.
A phrase suddenly surfaced in Lu Wu’s mind:
You have a new “Dead Yet?” order waiting.
“Thank you.”
No matter what, he had helped her.
“As I should. Don’t worry, Boss Lu. In this place, anyone who wants to touch you will have to get through me first.”
What a good kid.
Lu Wu was deeply moved.
Being able to latch onto such a powerful thigh on the very first day made her extremely happy.
“Hey, Qing Emperor, can I try some of those fries too?”
A carefree red-haired man appeared beside the youth, grinning. The two clearly knew each other well.
But…
Qing Emperor?
Hearing that title, Lu Wu felt the rank of the thigh she was hugging had just gone up another level.
What an incredibly thick thigh.
“Yan Ancestor, that’s not a question for me. This is Boss Lu’s stall. I’m just a customer.”
The Qing Emperor casually glanced at the newcomer.
Yan Ancestor?
Lu Wu muttered inwardly.
Then where’s my Yifei?
“Tch. That face of yours makes it hard for me to hit you. I should’ve learned from you and kept a younger face.”
Complaining as he spoke, Yan Ancestor walked over to Lu Wu.
“Little one, give me a serving of fries. The combo version.”
Yanzu had placed an order.
As the self-proclaimed Yifei of the Qingyuan Realm, it was time for her to get to work.
“Coming right up, please wait a moment.”
Lu Wu glanced at the spirit stones he had set down and broke into a grin.
She had a feeling that once this mission was complete, her blessed paradise realm would finally undergo its last upgrade.
