CFSMS -Chapter 25 For a Bite to Eat, I Climbed a Wall

Cultivation Food Stall: It Goes Viral the Moment I Set Up Shop 7 min read 25 of 140 25

The pig skin was undeniably fatty, but after being pressure-cooked, it had become incredibly tender.

The rich braising sauce, blended from soy sauce and a variety of aromatic spices, had been perfectly sealed within the skin.

The moment it entered the mouth, one bite was all it took. Before anyone could even register the greasiness, the entire piece of skin melted into a burst of savory juices that flowed down the throat and into the stomach.

Only after the skin was torn apart did the lean meat inside reveal itself.

The braising sauce had penetrated it perfectly.

The entire pork knuckle had been stewed until soft. The lean meat had loosened into delicate strands, soaking in the sauce and making mouths water at the mere sight of it.

Grandpa Li couldn’t wait any longer. He grabbed a piece of lean meat with his hand and stuffed it into his mouth.

Pure lean meat wasn’t greasy, but if mishandled, it could easily become dry and tough. Yet Lu Wu’s pork knuckle had no such problem.

After only a few chews, the fat absorbed within the meat flowed back out under the pressure of his teeth, releasing all the hidden aromas without reservation.

Not only was there none of the usual porky smell, but it even carried the faint fragrance unique to spirit pigs.

That fragrance blended seamlessly into the dish, becoming the perfect catalyst.

One bite felt enough to elevate the soul.

Unlike Grandpa Li, who ate the layers separately, Lu Wu was far more experienced.

She picked up the pork knuckle and took a deeper bite.

A large chunk tore away.

A balance of fat and lean meat—that was the true best way to enjoy braised pork knuckle.

Following her example, Grandpa Li took another bite.

His eyes instantly lit up.

The lingering fragrance gradually drifted out of the kitchen and beyond the courtyard.

In the alley outside, several children who had gotten up early were playing and chasing one another.

By chance, they ran past the entrance to Lu Wu’s courtyard.

Though the gate was tightly shut, the rich aroma stopped them in their tracks.

“Meat! I smell meat!”

A chubby boy with an exceptionally keen nose immediately began drooling.

He was the only child in his family, and every delicious dish at home was served to him first. Meat was his favorite food, which was precisely why he possessed a physique that far surpassed ordinary children.

The moment he smelled it, he knew someone inside was eating meat.

What puzzled him was that this meat smelled far better than anything his mother had ever cooked.

Just catching the scent made his stomach growl loudly.

The other children weren’t much better.

They gathered around the gate in small groups.

No one wanted to play anymore.

And no one wanted to leave.

“Big Brother Fatty, I’m hungry.”

A cute little girl walked over and tugged on his sleeve, her pitiful expression melting hearts.

The two had grown up together.

The chubby boy often shared snacks with her, so she had developed the habit of seeking him out whenever she wanted something tasty.

“I’m hungry too.”

The boy rubbed his belly.

When he had left home that morning, his mother had said they would be having red-braised pork later.

But after smelling this aroma, he didn’t want to wait anymore.

His mind was filled with a single thought:

I need meat right now.

“Come on. I’ll take you all to eat meat.”

He walked up to the gate and knocked.

Knock. Knock.

No response.

The reason was simple: the gluttonous Grandpa Li had forgotten to deactivate the formation protecting the gate.

With his cultivation, he should have easily noticed the children outside.

Unfortunately, all of his attention was focused on the giant pork knuckle in front of him.

He simply had no spare energy to observe his surroundings.

After knocking several times without receiving an answer, the chubby boy puffed out his cheeks in anger.

“Those nasty adults are trying to eat everything themselves!”

Having grown up spoiled at home, he was deeply indignant.

The smell was clearly coming from inside.

That meant someone was there.

If they weren’t opening the door, then they simply didn’t want to share.

Good things should be shared.

At such a young age, he already understood the essence of emotional blackmail.

When he saw the disappointed look in the little girl’s eyes, he immediately puffed out his chest.

“Follow me.”

After looking around, he crouched beside a corner of the wall.

“Yaya, step on us. We’ll make a human ladder so you can climb over the wall.”

A real man always kept his promises.

As the base, he’d be stable enough.

“Isn’t this a bad idea?”

One of the other children hesitated.

His mother had always told him to behave and never do bad things outside.

“Don’t you want to eat?”

The chubby boy glared at him.

As he spoke, drool dripped from the corner of his mouth, which he hurriedly wiped away with his sleeve.

The child touched the damp corner of his own lips and found himself unable to argue.

And so, the children stacked themselves into a human tower and successfully sent Yaya up to the top of the wall.

The wall itself wasn’t very high.

In a cultivation world, walls like this could stop gentlemen, but not villains.

And this time, the intruders were literal little villains.

Lu Wu dipped a piece of lean meat into the sauce.

Just as she was about to eat it, she looked up—and found a little girl sitting atop her courtyard wall.

The moment the girl saw her, her eyes darted around nervously.

Her face turned bright red, and tears quickly welled up in her large eyes.

Anyone who didn’t know better would think she’d just been bullied.

“Uh…”

Lu Wu was stunned.

Were the children of Qingyuan World really this fierce?

Learning to climb walls at such a young age?

Just as she was about to say something, the little girl panicked.

Her body wobbled.

With a shrill scream, she tumbled off the wall.

“Careful!”

Lu Wu shot to her feet.

But before she could reach her, Grandpa Li reacted even faster.

With a casual flick of his sleeve, an invisible gust of wind lifted the girl and gently lowered her safely to the ground.

“Yaya! Did you get hurt?”

Outside the wall, the chubby boy shouted anxiously.

He had heard Yaya’s scream and was terrified for her.

After waiting for a while without any response, his face turned pale.

“Did… did they capture Yaya?” one of the children muttered.

“Maybe bad people live in there. My mom said some bad people use delicious food to lure children in. Once the children go inside, they skin them alive, steam them, and eat them with dipping sauce!”

The horror story instantly shattered what little courage the guilty children had left.

“I don’t want to get eaten!”

One child turned and ran.

With him taking the lead, the others quickly followed.

Compared to meat, they valued their lives more.

Within moments, only the chubby boy remained outside the wall.

Watching his friends abandon him, and thinking about poor Yaya being captured by villains, tears rolled down his cheeks.

“Waaah! Mom! I’m scared!”

His voice trembled.

But he still remembered the promise he’d made to protect Sister Yaya.

Swinging his short, chubby legs, he charged at the gate.

His expression was nothing short of heroic.

Unfortunately, after several collisions, the gate remained unmoved.

The only thing that hurt was his own body.

He wiped away his tears, rubbed away the snot beneath his nose, and stubbornly continued.

“Yaya, wait for me!”

“I’ll definitely save you!”

Gathering every ounce of courage he possessed, he used all his strength and slammed toward the wooden gate.

“I’m the strongest!” he shouted, encouraging himself.

Just as his body was about to collide with the door—the gate suddenly opened from the inside.

The chubby boy had never expected such a development.

Unable to stop himself, he completely lost balance.

Thud!

Lu Wu quickly lifted her bowl high into the air to avoid the dust kicked up from the ground.

Looking at the chubby boy sprawled face-first on the ground in an utterly undignified heap, Lu Wu pressed her lips together as hard as she could.

In the end, she still failed to hold it in.

A grin spread across her face.
