A fingertip lightly scraped across his left cheek, which had once felt a little rough, stirring up a ripple of unspoken emotion.
Jiu Yue’s fingers brushed over Ji Yiqing’s cheek. Ji Yiqing pressed his lips together tightly, not daring to make a sound.
Yet Jiu Yue studied his face carefully, even leaning in slightly. Her shallow breaths swept across his cheek, carrying the unique medicinal fragrance that clung to her.
Ji Yiqing felt his entire body go rigid. A heat from nowhere surged straight to the tips of his ears and his cheeks, raced over his scalp, and flowed downward into his lower abdomen.
In that instant, all Ji Yiqing could see was Jiu Yue’s pale, tender earlobe. He wanted to turn his face away, but Jiu Yue firmly gripped his chin, leaving him utterly unable to move.
He shifted his legs awkwardly.
After a moment, Jiu Yue straightened up. “You can’t tell at all anymore. You won’t need to use medicine in the future.” As she spoke, she looked at Ji Yiqing.
Their gazes collided head-on—right into Ji Yiqing’s eyes, roiling with emotion.
Jiu Yue raised an eyebrow. Even the faintly glowing oil lamp couldn’t hide Ji Yiqing’s ears, red as if about to drip blood, nor his cheeks steaming with heat.
Then she noticed Ji Yiqing staring blankly at her… face?
Jiu Yue still held his chin, slowly rubbing it twice. Ji Yiqing actually shuddered.
Jiu Yue almost laughed. Her throat felt inexplicably dry, and she subconsciously licked her lips.
Ji Yiqing’s gaze immediately darkened further, once again locking straight onto her lips.
He looked dazed, one hand clutching the bedding, veins standing out.
Watching him, Jiu Yue felt an unexpected sense of amusement. After all, he was a hot-blooded young man—this was exactly the age of surging passion.
Yet he made not the slightest inappropriate move, clearly afraid of offending her.
Jiu Yue had never intended to wrong herself. Ji Yiqing had caught her eye; he wasn’t bound by ancient pedantry, nor did he think her methods too ruthless.
Even though she was the pinnacle of force, whenever something happened, he still used his tall body to shield her.
Jiu Yue thought for only a second, then suddenly leaned close to Ji Yiqing, feeling his breathing grow noticeably heavier.
“Do you want to kiss me?”
Ji Yiqing stared at her blankly, not making a single move.
Tsk. Jiu Yue didn’t plan on holding herself back. She couldn’t say she was in love with Ji Yiqing, but she truly didn’t dislike him—and she had already asked so directly.
Yet he was still standing there foolishly, not moving at all.
Jiu Yue leaned closer again, their noses touching, and felt Ji Yiqing’s body tremble once more.
“Go on. Kiss.”
Ji Yiqing blinked rapidly, as if her words had blown his mind apart. He stood there without the slightest reaction, as though he were dreaming.
Clearly…
Clearly they were husband and wife; such things were only natural. But in Ji Yiqing’s eyes, Jiu Yue carried an almost sacred, untouchable quality.
Even though she killed without blinking, lacked empathy, and was far from kind, Ji Yiqing still felt that her ruthlessness was a way of protecting him.
And her occasional small gestures were enough to set his heart racing.
Before he could even figure out whether what he’d just heard was a dream or reality, he heard Jiu Yue click her tongue. She tilted her head slightly, and her cool lips pressed straight onto his.
The hand that had been on his chin slid slowly along his cheek to his earlobe, then cupped the back of his head.
Her lips pried open his. Ji Yiqing snapped back to his senses—Jiu Yue! Jiu Yue was kissing him!
It was his first time, and he was a hot-blooded young man. In an instant, Ji Yiqing turned the tables, grabbing Jiu Yue by the waist and lifting her straight onto his lap.
Jiu Yue curved her lips slightly, completely compliant as she enjoyed it, both hands resting on Ji Yiqing’s shoulders.
Hiss…
With absolutely no kissing experience, Ji Yiqing was far too fierce. The hand pressing against the back of her head didn’t loosen for even a moment. He was savage like a wolf, as if he wanted to tear her apart and devour her whole.
Jiu Yue leaned back slowly, only to be pressed down again by Ji Yiqing. She frowned and gently pushed him away. Their lips had barely parted when Ji Yiqing urgently chased after her again.
Jiu Yue hissed in pain. Ji Yiqing instantly snapped out of the surging tide of passion and saw the corner of Jiu Yue’s lip, split and bleeding.
He looked at her in panic. “I… I… I…” He stammered for ages without finishing a sentence.
It gave Jiu Yue the feeling that he was worried she wouldn’t let him kiss her next time.
Sitting on Ji Yiqing’s lap, one hand lazily draped over his shoulder, Jiu Yue lifted her other hand to lightly scratch under his chin. “Be gentler. It hurts.”
Ji Yiqing’s eyes were red to the rims. Seeing that Jiu Yue didn’t look angry, he softly hummed in response. Jiu Yue felt uncomfortable sitting on something so hard and shifted slightly, trying to adjust her position.
Ji Yiqing let out a muffled groan, his entire face instantly exploding red.
“I… I… I…”
Jiu Yue felt that if she didn’t do something soon, this man might actually blush himself into steam and evaporate. She tilted her head and kissed him again.
This time, whether from experience or simply because men had an innate advantage in this area, Ji Yiqing only froze for a second before taking the lead.
It was enough to let Jiu Yue experience firsthand what it meant to be kissed until her legs went weak.
Their clothes were pulled into utter disarray. Jiu Yue showed no mercy in enjoying her “meal,” running her hands all over Ji Yiqing.
Just as things were about to go all the way, Ji Yiqing suddenly buried his face in Jiu Yue’s shoulder. “I… I don’t know how.”
Jiu Yue’s hazy, passion-filled eyes slowly cleared. She wanted to laugh but worried about wounding this little virgin.
Her hand moved toward—
“It’s fine. This time I’ll take care of you. I’ll find you some books to read. We’ll talk about next time later.”
…
Ji Yiqing fetched water to help Jiu Yue clean up. Jiu Yue propped her head on one hand, lying on her side at the edge of the bed, her eyes languid and seductive as she watched him wash his hands for her—looking as though she’d just been thoroughly indulged.
If his face and body weren’t so red, Jiu Yue might’ve thought she looked like a seasoned player in love.
She pushed herself up on her elbows and looked at Ji Yiqing.
At this moment, she realized her earlier thought had been wrong. Though the figure was the same figure, the person the same person, having scars versus not having scars made a world of difference.
She found him even more to her taste now.
“Was it comfortable?”
With a bang, Ji Yiqing toppled backward, falling off the side of the bed. Nearly flustered beyond measure, he exclaimed, “Jiu Yue!”—yet he still didn’t dare look at her.
Jiu Yue raised her brows and hummed in response.
Ji Yiqing was about to lose his mind. Though it was his first time, he could also tell that Jiu Yue was inexperienced too. Clearly… clearly it was both their first time.
So why could Jiu Yue be so calm? Calm was one thing—she could even tease him. It was deadly!
Thud, thud, thud—he carried the basin out to pour the water away.
Jiu Yue buried her laughter in the quilt at the edge of the bed. He was truly, truly too adorable.
So adorable that she really wanted to tease him some more. Who knew ancient scholars were this easy to fluster?
When many people had their hearts stirred at thirteen or fourteen, and marriages at fifteen or sixteen were countless—yet this one person was so green that she found him irresistibly cute.
