Hua Nu’s eyes sharpened, and she stretched her five fingers forward, intending to scatter the powder in her hand into the air.
Jiu Yue grabbed Hua Nu’s fingers with one hand. With a single forceful motion, Hua Nu’s fingers couldn’t open—they had no strength at all.
Immediately after, the Second Prince rushed in front of them, trying to help Hua Nu subdue Jiu Yue.
But Jiu Yue flipped her wrist.
She kicked the Second Prince in the stomach. The Second Prince reflexively opened his mouth.
In an instant, Jiu Yue held Hua Nu’s wrist with one hand and pinched the Second Prince’s chin with the other.
A loud crack rang out.
Jiu Yue had dislocated the Second Prince’s jaw.
Then, she pulled Hua Nu’s hand forward.
With a vicious motion, Jiu Yue tore Hua Nu’s hand open: “Eat it yourself!”
Hua Nu’s fingers, with the powder still on them, were forced into the Second Prince’s mouth. The poison instantly entered him.
But Jiu Yue didn’t stop there. Holding the Second Prince’s chin, she twisted it again—his jaw snapped back into place.
Then, from below, she punched upward into his jaw.
Crack!
Hua Nu screamed in agony. Her fingers were bitten and bloodied by the Second Prince, almost severed completely!
Everything happened too fast—Jiu Yue’s movements left afterimages.
Hua Nu didn’t even see Jiu Yue strike, and yet she almost lost several fingers.
The Second Prince staggered backward several steps. He knew better than anyone how deadly the poison in Hua Nu’s hands could be.
He clawed at his throat, trying to spit out the powder.
But poison like that couldn’t be removed just by scratching.
In barely a few breaths, the Second Prince’s face had turned purple from choking.
Hua Nu glared at Jiu Yue, seemingly unaware of the pain in her fingers.
Her expression toward Jiu Yue looked as if she wished she could rip her apart alive.
Quickly, she raised her other hand to throw more powder.
Jiu Yue spun, holding her breath, and stepped back two paces.
Without missing a beat, her whip cracked out, wrapping around Hua Nu’s waist.
With a sharp pull, she yanked Hua Nu out of the ring of fire.
Ying Yi’s men rushed forward to help.
Jiu Yue shouted angrily: “Take the antidote pills!!”
She had already taken a specially made one herself, hundreds of times more effective than the antidotes given to Ying Yi and the others.
But because they were extremely expensive, Jiu Yue had only made a few pills in total.
She hadn’t expected Hua Nu not only to control these poisons but to be a poison expert herself.
In an instant, Jiu Yue’s blood ran hot with excitement!
A poison expert!
By the standards of this dynasty, these ancient people could all be considered her ancestors.
But Jiu Yue was from the modern era. She could counter any poison with technology and had even developed methods for more.
She had been exposed to poisons since she was very young.
A poison expert!
She was the ancestor here!
This Hua Nu!
Her body reeked of strong medicine, her skin was not normal but pale with a sickly black tinge.
She was a poisoner.
Perfect. Such a rare thing… was now hers!
In just two moves, Jiu Yue realized that Hua Nu might be a master of poisons.
But because she relied too much on poison, her martial arts were mediocre.
Before Hua Nu could strike again, Jiu Yue couldn’t bear to let such a high-quality poison user waste her talents.
The poisons of a poisoner… all hers. Every bit!
“Ying Yi, the blade!”
Jiu Yue shouted.
Ying Yi also realized Hua Nu’s martial skills were average. If not for her fear of the poison, he would have struck immediately.
He grabbed a sword and swiftly cut her down.
Within mere breaths, the Second Prince was already foaming at the mouth, his face purple, collapsed on the ground.
Whether they were dead or not, no one even knew.
At the sound of Jiu Yue’s voice, the blade in Ying Yi’s hand—one that no one had ever touched before—was tossed straight to her.
Jiu Yue raised a hand and caught Ying Yi’s knife in one smooth motion.
Heavy. The blade was still dripping with blood, the sight of it alone enough to make one’s heart tremble.
Holding it, Jiu Yue whistled lightly. “Whoa! Nice blade!”
Just a bit heavy—hard to fully wield with one hand.
Hua Nu struck again. She spun around, her hair flying loose, and poison was actually flung out from within her hair.
Jiu Yue immediately pinched a silver needle and stabbed it straight into herself, sealing her heart meridian first.
This person—she must be hiding poison all over her body!
No more wasting time. After planting the needle, Jiu Yue gripped Ying Yi’s blade with both hands.
With a sharp “hey,” Hua Nu only saw someone charging straight at her. She desperately retreated, her hands constantly scattering medicinal powder.
Then she heard Jiu Yue laugh lightly.
“AHHH!!!”
The sharp blade descending from above was reflected in Hua Nu’s pupils. Blood splashed, accompanied by a soul-ripping pain that seemed to come from the depths of her very being.
Hua Nu’s right arm was cleanly severed at the elbow by Jiu Yue!
She didn’t even have time to mourn the loss of her right arm.
Jiu Yue tossed Ying Yi’s blade aside, grabbed Hua Nu’s still-intact left arm with one hand, and held her own surgical knife in the other.
Shhk!
Hua Nu’s left hand was cleanly sliced off at the wrist.
Jiu Yue chuckled softly. Every time she used her several-hundred-thousand-worth knife, the sense of accomplishment was immense.
See?
As long as you aim accurately at the joint between the bones, cleanly removing someone’s hand or foot isn’t a dream at all.
It’s easy to learn, too.
Hua Nu couldn’t take it anymore. Her eyes rolled back, and she fainted on the spot.
People from the Eagle Guard rushed over. Jiu Yue looked at Ying Yi. “This person is the one controlling the poisonous insects. Now that she can’t play her tune anymore, the others probably can’t command them—only control them. Organize people to find the other insect controllers.”
Ying Yi nodded and immediately turned to make arrangements.
After finishing, he saw Jiu Yue squatting beside Hua Nu. He was about to say he’d take over—he’d bring Hua Nu back himself.
Jiu Yue clicked her tongue and looked at Ying Yi as he bent down to grab Hua Nu. “What are you doing?”
Ying Yi straightened up. “I’m taking her back for interrogation.”
Jiu Yue pulled out the silver needle she’d used to stop Hua Nu’s bleeding. “Are you tired of living? This is a poison person! Don’t touch her casually. Her entire body is toxic—even her blood is poisonous.”
Ying Yi frowned. Of course he’d heard of poison people, but he’d never seen one.
After all, poison people or drug people alike were extremely cruel, inhumane creations.
Most righteous factions would never use such methods to strengthen themselves.
He hadn’t expected to see a living poison person today.
“Then…” Ying Yi hesitated, looking at Jiu Yue. If he couldn’t take Hua Nu back, was Jiu Yue supposed to do it?
That didn’t seem right either—Jiu Yue had already done so much. It made him look utterly useless.
Then he saw Jiu Yue kick the unconscious Hua Nu. “Get up!”
Hua Nu’s arms hurt so badly she couldn’t move at all.
Jiu Yue clicked her tongue. “Suit yourself, then.”
She dropped her whip to the ground, then viciously kicked Hua Nu again, sending her rolling twice across the ground.
Jiu Yue then bundled her up, tying Hua Nu tightly around the waist with the whip like a package.
After that, Jiu Yue glanced at the two blackened severed hands still bleeding on the ground.
She seemed to want to pick them up—but also found them somewhat disgusting, so the corner of her mouth twitched.
Ying Yi was just about to say that he could pick them up with a handkerchief. Though he didn’t know what Jiu Yue wanted the hands for—
Before he could speak, he saw Jiu Yue pick up his knife.
And then…
Then!!!
Then Jiu Yue used his black dark-iron blade—crafted at great expense, forged by countless master artisans, a weapon that ranked among the top—
She skewered the severed hands onto the tip of the blade!!!
What a waste of a priceless weapon!!!
Jiu Yue turned her head back. Somehow, she seemed to see cracks on Ying Yi’s golden mask.
Of course, that golden mask was extremely expensive—how could it really crack?
The one cracking was clearly Ying Yi himself.
“I’m telling you,” Jiu Yue said cheerfully, “these hands are great for research. Who knows how many kinds of poison we can study from them? They’re super valuable research material.”
“Heh… heh…” Ying Yi watched as Jiu Yue slung his beloved blade over her shoulder like a hoe, with two hands still skewered on the tip.
That treasured blade—one he lovingly wiped dozens of times a day.
The way she carried it made it look like nothing more than a fire poker.
Ying Yi’s heart was bleeding. This wasn’t his treasured blade anymore—he practically worshipped it like an ancestor.
For the first time, Ying Yi desperately wanted to chop off his own hand.
Look at you, so proactive! So proactive!
With the way Jiu Yue had chopped off Hua Nu’s arms, even a fire poker would’ve done the job.
Why did she have to use his blade?!
