Sun Desheng glanced at the airport’s general manager. The man had been all smiles when they met earlier, but now he looked like a completely different person.

However, Fatty Sun wasn’t someone to be intimidated. He put a cigarette in his mouth and said:

“So our authority has been revoked? And who’s going to bear the consequences? Even the head of the Civil Aviation Administration doesn’t have that kind of power. Do you have a written notice?”

“I do…”

As he spoke, the general manager reached into his jacket pocket. At the same time, Sun Desheng reached into the inner pocket of his own jacket for his lighter.

The two men almost simultaneously pulled out the objects in their pockets.

The general manager held a talisman paper. With a flick of his wrist, he was about to throw it at Sun Desheng.

Only then did he notice that what Fatty Sun had pulled out was a shining revolver.

The instant the manager hurled the talisman, Sun Desheng fired.

Bang!

The bullet struck the flying talisman.

The yellow paper exploded into pieces, instantly turning into dozens of tiny fireballs that scattered across the floor.

Dodging the flames, Sun Desheng kept his gun trained on the man and shouted:

“I’ve been waiting for you for half the day! You showed up fifteen minutes later than I expected. Not bad—you really know how to keep your composure. Actually, if you’d waited a little longer, I would’ve been the one losing patience. What a pity—I can outlast you.”

Seeing that his disguise had been exposed, the man remained calm.

He smiled slightly.

“As expected of Sun Desheng. I managed to fool everyone in the airport, but I couldn’t fool you. I knew coming in here was risky. No matter who I disguised myself as, you’d be suspicious. But I still didn’t expect you to open fire immediately.”

As he spoke, he flicked his fingers.

Another talisman appeared in his hand as though by magic and shot toward Fatty Sun.

Without hesitation, Sun Desheng fired a second shot.

The bullet struck the talisman again.

The moment it exploded, an intense flash of light flooded the room, so bright that no one could open their eyes.

Taking advantage of the blinding flash, the man turned and rushed toward the door.

But the moment he turned around, he found Che Qianzi already standing there, coldly blocking the exit.

Apparently wary of the young Taoist, the man reluctantly retreated to his original position.

By then, Sun Desheng’s eyes had adjusted, and he once more aimed the revolver at him.

“You two are planning to trap me here until the others return, aren’t you?”

The man smiled.

“Since I came in, naturally I made preparations outside. Forget gunshots—even if you fired a cannon in here, no one outside would hear it.”

As he spoke, he positioned himself with his back against the wall so that both Sun Desheng and Che Qianzi remained within his field of vision, preventing either from launching a sneak attack.

Sun Desheng chuckled and waved the radio in his hand.

“I made preparations too. If you’ve got the ability, why don’t you tamper with the radio as well?

La Zi, come up here and close the door on the dog…

La Zi? La Zi? Can you hear me?”

“He can’t.”

The man smiled and shook his head.

“I’ve thought of most of the things you could think of. I have a signal jammer on me. Nobody can hear what you’re saying.”

“Chief Sun, don’t expect Shen La, Yang Jun, or Yang Xiao to come either.

Yang Jun is searching Area D for Ximen Lian.

Shen La is in Area C.

And Yang Xiao is the interesting one. He’s hiding above the transfer hall ceiling.

I walked underneath him more than ten times, and he never noticed me.”

While speaking, the man suddenly made a grabbing motion toward Sun Desheng.

In an instant, the revolver in Fatty Sun’s hand flew into his own.

Turning the gun around, he pointed it at Sun Desheng and said:

“Chief Sun, this was originally just a small matter.

I accepted someone’s commission to send corpses back to their hometowns.

There was no need for you to create such a huge operation just to deal with a nobody like me.

Leave me a way out. One word from you is all it takes.

I swear I will never set foot in Beijing again.”

Sun Desheng himself couldn’t explain how the gun had left his hand.

It was as though his grip had suddenly slipped.

If the man had wanted his life, he would have died right then.

Staring at the gun now in the other’s hand, Sun Desheng said:

“Things have already reached this point. What else can I say? I’ll write an order letting you go. But after you leave, you can’t come back. Those were your own words.”

“No written orders.”

The man smiled.

“The things you write are full of codes and hidden signals. How am I supposed to know which character is secretly telling people to arrest me?”

He pressed something on his body.

“I’ve temporarily disabled the signal jammer. Now, Chief Sun, please speak to your subordinates. Tell them that General Manager Han Shiwei is leaving the airport on business and that they should let me pass.”

As the man spoke, Sun Desheng picked up the radio.

At the very moment the man’s attention focused on the radio in Fatty Sun’s hand, the figure standing on the opposite side suddenly moved.

Che Qianzi’s body blurred and vanished from where he stood.

By the time the man sensed something wrong, “Che Qianzi” had already appeared before him.

A short sword was pressed against his throat.

Everything had happened in the blink of an eye.

By the time the man understood what was happening, it was already too late.

With the slightest movement, the blade would separate his head from his body.

“So you’re Che Qianzi…

No… you’re Shen La.

The two of you switched identities and appearances…”

The man let out a bitter smile.

“I didn’t calculate that. I still overlooked something…”

At that moment, “Che Qianzi” wiped his face.

The muscles of his face relaxed, shifted, and tightened again at different angles.

His appearance changed dramatically.

The eighteen-year-old Taoist disappeared, replaced by the white-haired Shen La.

After returning to his original appearance, Shen La casually disarmed the man and tossed the revolver back to Sun Desheng.

Seeing that Shen La had subdued the enemy, Sun Desheng burst into laughter.

Taking back the gun, he pointed at a cabinet beside the door and said:

“So you hid the monitor in there. It took me a long time to find it. While I was watching the surveillance cameras, I didn’t realize I was already inside your surveillance range, right? You secretly installed that thing during your previous visit to the airport.”

“You’re too smart. If I hadn’t gone around in circles to fool you, even you wouldn’t have expected this move.”

“La Zi, help him take off his disguise. I want to see which old acquaintance it is. He should’ve already exhausted all his tricks—”

Before Sun Desheng could finish speaking, the fake general manager let out a strange laugh.

Then, slowly, he unbuttoned his clothes.

Strapped around his waist was a timer connected to several blocks of plastic explosives.

He placed his hand on the timer and calmly said to Sun Desheng:

“Chief Sun, there’s still this.”

“If I remove my hand, this room will explode.”

“An explosion of this magnitude won’t do anything to Brother Shen.”

“But Chief Sun, you’ll be blown into pieces without a doubt.”

Upon hearing those words, Shen La dared not move recklessly.

He turned to look at Sun Desheng—

Only to discover that the eldest of the three brothers had already retreated into the farthest corner of the room…
