Hu Shan’s eyes were bloodshot, and an uncontrollable rage burned in her heart. Like an enraged lion, she stared fiercely at Secretary Chang.

Through clenched teeth, she snarled, “Secretary Chang, let go of me!”

Seeing her like this, Secretary Chang tightened his grip on her arm, afraid she would charge in recklessly in her fury.

“You can’t go in.”

Hu Shan thought he was on their side. The hatred in her eyes was so intense it seemed like it could pierce straight through him.

Secretary Chang didn’t rush to explain. Instead, he said calmly, “I’m not protecting them.”

“But you can’t go in alone.”

Hu Shan had no patience to listen. Struggling fiercely, she growled, “Let me go!”

“I’m going to make Cheng Bo and that slut Xiu Ying pay!”

She had bottled up her anger for months. There was no way a few words from him would change her mind.

Seeing this, Secretary Chang gripped her arm tightly and frowned.

In a low voice, he scolded, “Can you stop being so impulsive?”

“If you rush in like this, do you think they won’t quietly kill you?”

Hu Shan couldn’t hear anything at this point. She pushed him wildly.

“Before they kill me, I’ll drag them down with me!”

After trying in vain to persuade her, Secretary Chang finally got angry and flung her hand away.

Coldly, he said, “Go ahead. Let your parents bury their daughter.”

Hearing this, Hu Shan finally began to calm down.

She looked at him and said, “Come in with me. You can be my witness.”

Secretary Chang ground his teeth in anger.

Hearing the knock, she stood up impatiently and opened the door.

Hearing that she was asking about Xiu Ying, Auntie Wang finally relaxed.

“My dear, who is it?” someone inside asked.

Soon, the whole family gathered at the door, sizing Hu Shan up.

Hu Shan replied, “She’s my husband’s cousin. I’m here to find my husband.”

“Do you know which room she lives in?”

Wang Qiang whispered into his mother’s ear, “Didn’t Xiu Ying’s mother say Cheng Bo was her son-in-law?”

Hu Shan heard it clearly. Hatred filled her lowered eyes. If she hadn’t remembered Secretary Chang’s instructions, she would have rushed in immediately.

Auntie Wang glared at her son, then grabbed Hu Shan’s hand.

“Come. I’ll take you there.”

She waved for her daughter-in-law and sons to follow. How could they miss such juicy gossip?

Xiu Ying lived in the back room. Soon, the group arrived.

“This is her place,” Auntie Wang said cheerfully.

She even kindly knocked on the door for Hu Shan.

Either she knocked too hard, or Cheng Bo and Xiu Ying had forgotten to lock it.

The door swung open.

Inside, the two people who had just finished making love and hadn’t put their clothes back on were exposed to everyone.
