Feng Yunxiao covered her face with her sleeve and laughed. “Young man, stop joking with me. How could anyone possibly finish this many dishes?”
One of the guards sneered coldly. “Do we look like we’re joking with you, Miss Feng?”
The smile on Feng Yunxiao’s face vanished instantly, replaced by a chill.
She scoffed. “I’m not eating. What can you two useless fools do to me?”
The two guards said nothing, their hands moving to the swords at their waists.
Gripping the hilts, they slowly drew their blades.
Cuizhu shouted angrily, “What are you two idiots trying to do?!”
One guard’s gaze turned sharp as he stepped forward.
In the next instant, he was beside Cuizhu, his sword already pressed against her neck.
Cuizhu’s face turned deathly pale, her body trembling uncontrollably.
Feng Yunxiao hadn’t expected them to actually get serious, and fury surged within her.
But with her trusted maid held hostage, she couldn’t lash out. Gritting her teeth, she said: “The Prince only told you two to supervise me eating. Did he tell you to threaten my maid with a sword?”
The guard replied coldly, “As long as Miss Feng obeys and eats, I’ll release your maid.”
Feng Yunxiao clenched her teeth. “Let her go, and I’ll eat.”
The guard remained expressionless. “Miss Feng, do you think you’re in any position to negotiate?”
Feng Yunxiao was furious. When had she ever been threatened like this?
She was the one who threatened others—yet now…
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, as if her lungs were about to explode.
But seeing Cuizhu’s tearful, pleading eyes, she hesitated.
Cuizhu was her most trusted maid…
Feng Yunxiao’s fingers clenched until they turned white. Finally, she forced the words out through gritted teeth.
“Fine! I’ll eat!”
Half an hour passed.
Feng Yunxiao was already full, but when she looked up, the table was still covered with dishes, barely touched.
She didn’t care anymore. Setting down her chopsticks, she said to the guards:
“I’ve eaten. Shouldn’t you release my maid now?”
The guard didn’t budge. “Miss Feng, the Prince said you may leave only after finishing all the dishes on this table.”
Finish them?
Like hell she could!
Feng Yunxiao cursed inwardly, her expression turning cold and ugly.
“Did I say I wanted to leave? What I asked was whether you can release Cuizhu now.”
The two guards exchanged a glance.
The sword at Cuizhu’s neck was withdrawn.
Freed, Cuizhu immediately ran to Feng Yunxiao’s side, her voice trembling with tears. “Miss…”
Feng Yunxiao patted her arm in comfort, then looked up and glared furiously at the guards.
“And you two men, standing in my private room—if others see this, what happens to my reputation?”
“You two, right now, immediately, get—”
She almost said “get lost,” but seeing their expressions change, she quickly corrected herself, her tone softening slightly.
“Go outside. Stand guard at the door.”
One guard replied stiffly, “If we go out, your maids must go out as well.”
“No!”
Feng Yunxiao refused without hesitation.
If Cuizhu and Cuiyun left, who would help her eat?
The guard said coldly, “If the maids don’t leave, neither will we.”
The other guard exposed her thoughts directly. “Miss Feng, the Prince said you must finish the food yourself. No one else is allowed to help.”
Her scheme exposed, Feng Yunxiao’s suppressed anger exploded.
She waved her hand.
Plates and bowls crashed to the ground, shattering into pieces.
Food scattered, soup spilling everywhere.
“I’m not eating! What can you do about it?!”
The guard’s expression didn’t change. “Miss Feng, the Prince said even if it falls on the ground, you still have to eat it.”
“Heh…”
Feng Yunxiao let out a cold laugh, her eyes turning sharp as she grabbed another plate and smashed it to the floor.
While smashing, she taunted the guards.
“I won’t eat! What can you do to me?!”
The two guards remained silent, watching her break the dishes.
A waiter, hearing the commotion, rushed in. Seeing the scene, his face changed drastically as he cried out: “Miss Feng, what are you doing?!”
“You’ve made such a mess—how are we supposed to clean this up?!”
“Please stop smashing things! Oh my, Miss Feng!”
The waiter was so anxious he was nearly in tears.
Feng Yunxiao raised an eyebrow and smirked arrogantly. “Want me to stop?”
The waiter nodded frantically.
She pointed at the two guards. “Get rid of them, and I’ll stop.”
The waiter turned to the guards, looking pitiful. “Gentlemen…”
Before he could finish, one guard took out a gold ingot and placed it in his hand.
“All damages in this room will be covered by our Prince.”
“Understood! I understand!”
The waiter pocketed the gold instantly, no longer anxious. Turning back to Feng Yunxiao with a smile, he said: “Miss Feng, please continue. I won’t disturb you.”
With that, he turned to leave.
“Stop! Did I say you could leave?!”
Feng Yunxiao dashed toward him.
She had smashed the dishes to attract the waiter and create trouble for the guards.
But although the waiter came, he was bought off with gold.
Now that he was leaving, she couldn’t let him go.
If he left, he had to take her with him!
A guard’s eyes sharpened. He moved swiftly, blocking Feng Yunxiao’s path.
Seeing this, Cuizhu rushed forward without hesitation, ramming into the guard with her head.
“Miss! Run!”
Feng Yunxiao took off running.
The other guard moved, but Cuiyun grabbed his waist, holding him back.
Seeing the situation, the waiter didn’t dare stay any longer. Clutching the gold ingot, he ran off.
Feng Yunxiao was just about to escape. The open door was within reach.
As long as she got out, even if they chased her, she wouldn’t be afraid.
She could shout loudly and attract a crowd…
Her foot had just crossed the threshold when someone grabbed her by the back of her collar.
In the next instant, she was yanked back into the room.
The door slammed shut.
Her vision spun as her body hit the ground hard.
Seizing the opportunity, she pretended to faint.
If she refused to eat and played unconscious, what could they do to her?
Cuizhu and Cuiyun scrambled over, calling out to her anxiously.
When Feng Yunxiao showed no response, Cuizhu angrily cursed the two guards.
The guards watched coldly as the two maids panicked, saying nothing.
They saw through Feng Yunxiao’s act but didn’t expose it.
Let her struggle—she’d still have to finish eating before leaving.
At this moment, Cuiyun stood up and said she needed to go to the restroom.
The guards didn’t stop her and allowed her to leave.
After stepping out of the private room, Cuiyun glanced back inside.
