Okay, so I binged this novel like crazy for the past few days—so much so that I kinda… neglected my translations (oops 🤭). But after finishing it, I gotta be honest—I did not like it. At all. 😤
Let’s start with FL. I get that she’s supposed to be funny and overpowered, but she just came off as straight-up stupid the entire time. Like, she’s a survivor of the apocalypse?? A zombie-killing, genetically enhanced army doctor?? And yet, she acts like a naive fool 99% of the time. How did she even survive the apocalypse?? 🤨
And don’t even get me started on ML. Oh. My. God. The Supreme Commander abandoned her to DIE for the throne, and she still went back to him?!? 🤯 She was all resolute for like, 5 seconds, and then—poof!—all was forgiven. If she had not chosen ML, this novel could’ve been 20% better. But instead, it’s sitting at -90% approval from me. 🚮
I know some people love this kind of dynamic, but I just can’t. Every time FL was involved, the politics became a joke. When the novel focused on the court intrigue without her, it was amazing—but then FL would show up, and suddenly everything turned into chaos and nonsense. It was frustrating! 😩
Tbh, I would’ve much rather seen her open a hospital in Fangzhou, stay with her family, and properly raise her daughter instead of going back to that walking red flag of an ML. That would’ve been a satisfying ending! But nope, the author had to force the whole fated lovers thing. 🤦♀️
Final rating? 1 star. Maybe even -3 stars if that was possible. 🚫⭐
