Ming Can is a brilliant sophomore at a top university, known for her stellar academic performance. One normal day, she’s shocked to encounter a mysterious little boy—who turns out to be her biological son from the future.
At just five years old, the child is sweet, polite, and so lovable that she accepts this strange reality with surprising ease. She doesn’t want anything to do with the child’s father though—she assumes he’s a stranger and ignores that part.
But then her son, this adorable little time traveler, scores 2 points out of 100 on a math test.
The genius mother’s world shatters. For the first time, she seriously asks:
“Son… be honest. Is your biological father mentally ret*rded?”
Cue the real mystery: the father’s name sounds vaguely familiar. And soon, at a university lecture, the truth is revealed—
It’s Chi Xiao, the aloof top-scoring genius senior who may or may not remember her… but definitely knows something she doesn’t.
What I Loved
This novel is a complete genre-shift from what I usually read (yes, I’m still deep in my tribal/primitive survival obsession), but I couldn’t resist this plot! A kid from the future showing up to fix his parents’ relationship? Yes, please.
It had:
✔️ A fresh and funny concept
✔️ Adorable parenting moments
✔️ Excellent chemistry between FL and ML
✔️ A child character that wasn’t just cute but genuinely pivotal to the story
✔️ Just the right mix of romantic comedy and soft family feels
The child stole the show, honestly. He was so sweet and soft and sincere that I wanted to adopt someone just like him. (Yes, I said it.)

Final Thoughts
This isn’t the kind of novel I get completely lost in like Chronicles of Primordial Wars, but it was such a refreshing break—short, heartwarming, and clever. I definitely want to reread it.
If you’re looking for a light and absolutely precious read with time-travel antics, messy geniuses, and a child who’ll make your heart melt, pick this one up. Just be prepared for a massive craving for kids afterward 😅
