This novel is different, and I loved it. For once, it’s the gong who transmigrated, not the shou! And let me tell you, our beautiful shou isn’t just some delicate flower—he’s intelligent, powerful, and remains that way throughout the entire story. 🌟 ML never overshadows MC, even though he could, and that’s what makes them such a perfect match. MC always prioritizes his career, his craft, and the well-being of those around him, and ML simply respects and supports him.
One thing that really struck me was how real the pacing felt. In so many novels, they start with a street stall, and suddenly, by the last chapter, they’re hosting imperial feasts like it’s nothing. But here? You actually feel the passage of time. It’s like growing old with them, watching them hustle, struggle, and thrive. The transition from a tiny food stall to a grand restaurant in the capital makes sense—you feel the years rushing by with them. ⏳✨
At one point, when MC was just opening his first big restaurant in the capital, I found myself thinking, I really liked the early chapters when MC and ML were running the stall together… but then I realized—they’re still the same people. It’s just that their journey evolved, and it was so natural that I didn’t even notice the shift. That’s how immersive and captivating the storytelling is.
The slow pace, the emotions, the side characters—it all just clicks. I especially wanted more content with the Crown Prince! 👶 He was so cute, and I need more of him. But even without that, I’m happy because this story makes it clear: everyone is the protagonist of their own life. 💖
