🏡 Rebirth to the 80’s to Have a Good Life — A Quiet Revenge, One Rag at a Time
【Rebirth + 80s Setting + Family Drama + Diligence + Slice of Life】
📖 This is a novel I’m translating for myself — partly because I think I’ve read it before, but also to enjoy it again!
☕ If you like it too, consider supporting me on Ko-fi. It would mean the world to me. Every little bit helps me keep doing what I love — bringing these stories to life, one chapter at a time.
📅 New chapters every Monday to Thursday
Sometimes, a story calls you back, even if you’re not sure why. That’s exactly how I felt with Rebirth to the 80’s to Have a Good Life. I think I’ve read it before — but something about it made me want to return, to revisit its world, and to share it with you through this translation.
This wasn’t a commissioned project; I chose it simply because I was curious. And now that I’ve started working on it again, I’m reminded why these types of novels always stick with me.
In her previous life, Su Min’s family suffered quietly. Their hard-earned money, given by her parents, was siphoned off by greedy grandparents and handed over to her cousin’s family — all because they had a precious son. Meanwhile, her own father died early from illness, not because it couldn’t be treated, but because there was no money left to try.
But in this life, Su Min is reborn. This time, she’s not helpless. She has no golden finger, no miraculous system or cheat codes — just her memories and her determination.
She starts from the bottom, quite literally collecting rags. But step by step, she begins to build a better life for herself and her loved ones. The story takes us through the heart of the 1980s countryside: rough, simple, but full of quiet resilience. There’s gossip, hardship, small joys, and a heroine who knows that hard work is her biggest weapon.
I have a soft spot for these grounded, slice-of-life rebirth stories. There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching someone rebuild from nothing — not with magic or systems, but with grit, smarts, and sheer persistence.
If you’re a fan of realistic progression, rural settings, or you just want to root for a woman who refuses to be stepped on again, this one might be for you too.
Let’s follow Su Min as she creates the life she deserves. 🧺💪
