The next morning, Lu Ming turned over on his soft little bed.

His long eyelashes fluttered a few times as he slowly opened his drowsy eyes.

Song Jingmo, dressed in a light gray loungewear set, sat gracefully at the edge of the bed.

Lu Ming blinked his big eyes, staring at Song Jingmo for a few seconds before his little mouth slowly pouted.

Children are very sensitive; they can sense who is more affectionate and who is more distant.

Instinctively, he shrank into the blanket, leaving only half his little face and a pair of shiny black eyes exposed.

He reached out his small hand and called in a babyish voice, “Want Uncle…”

“Lu Ming’s awake?”

Song Jingmo tried to keep his voice soft. “Let’s get up first, put on your clothes, wash up, and then we’ll wake your uncle, okay?”

Lu Ming tilted his little head, hesitated for a few seconds, and finally nodded.

His longing for his uncle outweighed his fear. The little guy slowly sat up and cooperatively stretched out his tiny arms for Song Jingmo to help him get dressed.

Once dressed, Song Jingmo called the nanny to take Lu Ming to wash up.

The nanny smiled as she took him, but inwardly she was surprised.

Every time the young master appeared, Song Jingmo usually radiated a kind of low-pressure aura.

She had always thought that Song Jingmo didn’t like children, finding them noisy. Yet today, he personally helped the young master get dressed…

After Lu Ming was cleaned and ready, Song Jingmo picked him up again and headed toward the master bedroom.

On the big bed, Lu Er was hugging the quilt, his cheeks flushed as he slept.

Song Jingmo held Lu Ming and gently pushed open the door.

Raising a finger to his lips, he gestured a quiet “shh” to the little guy in his arms. “Your uncle was very tired last night and is still resting. We need to be quiet.”

Lu Ming nodded, half understanding, but his eyes sparkled as he stared at the familiar figure on the bed.

Song Jingmo placed Lu Ming by the edge of the bed, and the little guy immediately scrambled onto the bed using both hands and feet.

He snuggled up next to Lu Er and planted a big kiss.

Then he reached out his little hand and, in a soft, sugary voice, called, “Uncle~”

Lu Er was awakened by the ticklish sensation on his face, blinking drowsily to see a tiny chubby face up close.

“Lu Ming…”

Lu Er mumbled in response, instinctively reaching out to hug the little guy.

In the movement, the thin blanket covering him slipped a bit, revealing his neck and collarbone, marked with several dark red bruises.

Seeing the little one staring at his neck, Lu Er instantly became fully alert.

Flustered, he hastily pulled the blanket back, his voice hoarse and tinged with both sleepiness and embarrassment. “Take the child out first…”

But a three-year-old’s curiosity is insatiable.

Lu Ming leaned closer and poked the red marks with his chubby little finger. His brows furrowed, and his face showed both concern and confusion.

“Uncle… it hurts…”

He remembered last time he fell and got bruised, and it hurt a lot.

Uncle’s neck had so many red marks; it must hurt even more.

The little guy pouted, puffed his cheeks, and started seriously “blowing” on Lu Er’s neck marks.

As he blew, he lightly patted Lu Er’s shoulders with his tiny hands, murmuring, “Blow blow… make it go away…”

Lu Er froze on the bed, his ears burning bright red.

What on earth was happening?!

Song Jingmo was also momentarily stunned by the little guy’s sudden actions, then a deeper smile appeared in his eyes.

He hurried forward, bending down to pick up the earnest little Lu Ming.

“Well…”

Song Jingmo tried to explain carefully, “Uncle’s neck isn’t injured, it doesn’t hurt. Those marks are kisses.”

“Because your uncle is very nice, people who like him leave kisses. Just like Lu Ming likes your uncle and sometimes kisses his face, this is a way to show affection.”

Lu Ming, cradled in Song Jingmo’s arms, tilted his little face back, half understanding.

Looking at his embarrassed, almost-steaming-into-redness uncle, and then at Song Jingmo patiently explaining while holding him, he reluctantly accepted this explanation.

In his baby voice he said, “Kiss… like…”

“Song Jingmo, take him out quickly!”

Lu Er’s neck turned even redder. He stretched out a hand from under the blanket, pointing to the door. “Stop teaching him nonsense; he’s still a child.”

Song Jingmo looked innocent, holding Lu Ming. “I’m just telling the truth. Should I lie to a child and say it was mosquito bites?”

Lu Er was speechless. “Anyway, just go out first. I need to get dressed.”

“Okay.”

Song Jingmo complied.

Holding the still-curious Lu Ming, he whispered, “Let’s go have breakfast first. Your uncle will come out after he changes.”

He turned and left the bedroom, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.

Once the door closed, Lu Er immediately threw off the blanket, ran to the dressing mirror, and put on the T-shirt with the highest collar in his wardrobe to cover the marks on his neck.

As he dressed, he cursed Song Jingmo a hundred times in his mind.

At breakfast, Lu Er kept his head down the whole time, quietly sipping his porridge.

Song Jingmo ate calmly while taking care of Lu Ming in the child’s high chair.

Compared to before, when he ignored the child and wore an icy expression, now he was as affectionate as could be.

He not only wiped Lu Ming’s mouth but also fed him small pieces of scrambled eggs.

After finishing breakfast, Lu Ming grew restless, wriggling in the chair.

He reached out to Lu Er, whining, “Uncle… hug…”

Lu Er instinctively wanted to put down his chopsticks to pick him up.

“Er Er,” Song Jingmo called out, stopping him. “You said you felt a little sore earlier. Don’t always hold him; he’s heavy now.”

Lu Er hesitated.

He had indeed overexerted himself last night and was still sore.

Song Jingmo said to Lu Ming, “Lu Ming, your uncle’s neck hurts today. He can’t hold you all the time. You play by yourself, or I can play with you, okay?”

Lu Er said nothing.

Lu Ming blinked his big eyes, looked at Lu Er’s tightly covered neck, and his little face showed a hint of disappointment.

He was actually a bit scared of Song Jingmo, but his uncle wasn’t feeling well…

“What do you want to play?”

Song Jingmo held Lu Ming’s little hand and led him to the small padded play area in the living room.

The floor was covered with colorful mats and piled with toys.

Lu Ming’s attention was immediately captured by the toys. Forgetting about being held, he happily followed Song Jingmo into the play area and began playing with the new toys.

Lu Er sat at the dining table, watching the duo in the playpen.

The tall man bent over, patiently accompanying the little one with the toy cars.

He occasionally whispered explanations. Although his expression was still not overly warm, his movements were careful and gentle.

Lu Ming played happily, giggling out loud.

Lu Er, sitting on the nearby sofa with a magazine in hand, couldn’t help but glance that way.

The usually cold Dr. Song, trying to patiently accompany a child, looked rather cute.

Lu Er quietly picked up his phone and secretly aimed it at the play area with the two of them.

“Click.”

With a soft sound, this sunny morning was captured forever.
