Amid everyone’s laughter, Yin Siyao decisively tilted his head back and downed a penalty drink in one go.
The game continued. A few more people took their turns, giving wildly varied answers—from chewing gum to frozen dumplings—but none were correct.
The atmosphere grew increasingly lively; everyone scratched their heads in frustration, curiosity reaching a fever pitch.
Suddenly, Leng Keyan slapped his thigh sharply.
Excitedly, he shouted, “I know! It’s roasted sweet potatoes! Fresh out of the oven, they’re soft and fluffy, right?”
“Bingo! Correct!”
Proudly standing, Leng Keyan tossed out the next question: “What is something where the person on top is very excited, and the person below is very thrilled?”
The moment the question came out, the playful laughter and meaningful glances that had just calmed down began spreading through the group again.
Everyone exchanged “you know what I mean” looks, stifling their smiles, yet no one spoke first.
Lu Er was leaning against Song Jingmo while eating grapes, and hearing this made a grape almost choke him.
He discreetly pinched Song Jingmo’s thigh, giving him a pleading look with his eyes: why are all these questions so inappropriate?!
Song Jingmo’s expression remained calm. He simply reached over and gently patted Lu Er’s back, signaling him to be patient.
The answers kept getting stranger: from riding a roller coaster to watching a horror movie. Someone even muttered a certain naughty suggestion under their breath, making everyone burst into laughter—but Leng Keyan shook his head every time.
After another seven or eight people had their turns, downing multiple penalty drinks, it came back to Yin Siyao.
Leng Keyan grew anxious at the sight, giving Lu Er constant winks and gestures, as if he wanted to blurt out the answer for him.
Yin Siyao, seeing the frantic gestures, felt a bit helpless. He furrowed his brows slightly, his gaze unconsciously sweeping over Lu Er, who was quietly giggling while leaning against Song Jingmo.
He then looked at Song Jingmo, calm and detached, and a sudden idea sparked in his mind.
He tentatively spoke, his voice clear and cool as jade: “Is it shipping a CP?”
“Wrong.”
Yin Siyao could only sigh and lift his glass for another drink. The line of his neck looked graceful as he swallowed, his Adam’s apple rolling, and Leng Keyan’s eyes went wide.
Seeing this, everyone laughed and started teasing:
“Ah, Leng Keyan, your teamwork with Dr. Yin is really off!”
“Exactly! Seems like you don’t communicate enough normally!”
Riding the wave of teasing, Leng Keyan looked longingly at Yin Siyao.
His voice was soft, but loud enough for everyone nearby to hear: “Teacher Yin, can you pay a bit more attention to me from now on? Let’s build some teamwork?”
The mix of expectation and careful flirtation made Yin Siyao’s hand, holding the empty glass, pause slightly. He lifted his eyes to meet Leng Keyan’s.
Faced with those astonishingly bright, puppy-like eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to refuse. He gave a faint, “Mm,” before looking away.
But that single “Mm” was enough to make Leng Keyan’s heart bloom, and he broke into a silly grin.
After a few more turns, it was Song Jingmo’s turn.
Recalling Leng Keyan’s suggestive glance when posing the question, combined with Lu Er’s profession, the answer became clear to him.
He spoke calmly, voice crisp and clear: “It’s holding a concert.”
He paused, then explained, “The singer on stage is excited, while the fans below are thrilled.”
“Correct!”
Leng Keyan silently gave a mental thumbs-up to his aunt—truly a genius.
Song Jingmo became the next question master: “What is something hard by itself, but that girls all like?”
“Boyfriend’s abs?”
Several people took penalty drinks in a row, until it was Lu Er’s turn.
Learning from the roasted sweet potato lesson, he didn’t rush into a risqué answer.
He thought carefully, considering Song Jingmo’s cool personality and his style of posing questions, and tentatively asked, “A diamond?”
Song Jingmo looked at him, eyes glinting with approval, and nodded: “Well done.”
“Yay!”
Lu Er nearly jumped for joy: “What is something one person can’t do, but two people can do just perfectly?”
At this question, many people’s eyes darted around again, and answers became wildly varied.
“Fighting?”
Penalty drink.
“Dancing?”
Penalty drink.
“Arguing?”
Penalty drink.
“Kissing?”
A young doctor whispered shyly, causing everyone to laugh.
Lu Er still shook his head.
After several people got penalty drinks, it was Song Jingmo’s turn. Lu Er immediately blinked.
He made a very obvious gesture, covering his mouth with his hand while speaking, expression exaggerated, worried Song Jingmo wouldn’t understand.
Song Jingmo looked at this blatant cheating, paused briefly, then his eyes softened with a mix of helplessness and indulgence.
Almost immediately, he understood Lu Er’s hint and gave the answer: “Whispering.”
One person talking to themselves is boring, but two people leaning in to whisper makes it just right.
“Correct!”
Lu Er’s voice carried uncontainable delight and a hint of “look how smart I am!”
Everyone couldn’t hold back this time, laughing and protesting together.
Dr. Liu stood up first: “You’re way too biased! When it was my turn to guess, you kept a straight face, not a single hint.”
“And then when it’s Dr. Song’s turn, you’re basically letting him win!”
“Exactly!”
“Bullying us single people with no one to defend us, huh?”
“Oh, Dr. Liu, you just don’t get it! Who’s the couple here!”
“Exactly! If you’re unhappy, go find a partner yourself, and next time during team-building, we’ll let you win too!”
“Ha ha ha ha!”
Lu Er’s cheeks flushed, but he stood tall and proudly hugged Song Jingmo’s arm: “He’s mine. If not him, who else should I favor?”
The words were honest and playful, provoking another round of laughter.
Song Jingmo, held tightly by the arm, turned to look at Lu Er’s smug, delicate profile. His gaze was gentle enough to drown anyone.
Under the table, his hand reached out to hold Lu Er’s, fingers interlacing tightly.
