VHBF – Chapter 11 The Playboy Daddy (Part 11)

The Villain is Happy Being a Father 9 min read 11 of 186 340

Yinyin chatted with her grandparents for a while. Soon, Mrs. Luo’s personal assistant brought breakfast and urged Yinyin to eat.

Yinyin looked around and asked, “Where’s Daddy?”

Mrs. Luo raised her eyebrows, pulled the little dumpling to her side, laid out all the food, and said, “Him? He went to take revenge.”

“Don’t worry about him. Let’s eat.”

In fact, Mrs. Luo had no idea where her son had gone early in the morning; she was just making things up. Who would have thought the little dumpling’s eyes would light up as she asked, “Is he going to catch the bad guys who hurt Grandpa?”

Clenching her tiny fists, she volunteered, “Yinyin wants to go too!”

Of course, Yinyin didn’t get to go. Who knew that Daddy would disappear for several days? When she asked Uncle System, he wouldn’t say anything either—just said he didn’t know.

The situation between the Luo and Bai families was getting worse. The banks were urging repayment more frequently, repeatedly shortening the deadlines, and had even refused to give the two family corporations any more loans.

The news that Mr. Luo had woken up was kept from the public. Outsiders were speculating that he was either dying or already dead and that they were just hiding it. Investors were panicking, and rumors spread that the Luo and Bai families were about to collapse.

The Bai relatives came swarming back like vultures. They were no longer as polite to Yinyin as before. A large group of them showed up, calling her a little burden, saying that since the Bai family was about to go bankrupt, they were only taking her in out of kindness and that she should be grateful instead of ungrateful.

Mr. Luo was still recuperating. In the hospital, only Mrs. Luo, two nannies, and an assistant were present—all women, no match for a bunch of burly men.

Mrs. Luo was trembling with anger as she argued with them, exposing their true intentions—yet they shamelessly admitted it.

“Who in this world doesn’t live for money?”

Second Uncle Bai sneered at the little dumpling. “If it weren’t for money, who would bother raising such a burden?”

The Bai family’s company was on the verge of collapse, so they no longer cared about their reputation. They figured they might as well sell her while she was still worth something and make some money to go back home and live as big shots.

People laugh at poverty, not at prostitution. Who cares how you make your money? When the time comes, there’ll be plenty of people flattering them!

A few of the Bai relatives were crude and unreasonable. They even got physical, trying to snatch the little dumpling away.

Mrs. Luo hurriedly shielded Yinyin behind her.

She told the assistant, “Call the police! Call the police! And get the bodyguards here, all of them!”

Because they were trying to deal with the mastermind behind everything, news of Mr. Luo’s injury had been kept tightly under wraps. Except for a few trusted people, no one knew. They didn’t want to draw attention, so they hadn’t even brought the bodyguards over.

In the past two days, her son had only left a message: two words—“Wait.”

And now the Bai family had taken advantage of the gap.

Yinyin wiped away her tears. Seeing Grandma being shoved around and almost falling, she exploded with anger!

She glared with her big round eyes, darted in front of Grandma, puffed up her chubby cheeks, and spread her tiny arms.

“You’re not allowed to bully Grandma!”

“I’m not going with you! You’re bad people!”

“When Daddy comes back, he’ll beat you up!”

In the hospital corridor—

The little dumpling wasn’t even as tall as an adult’s leg, and though her knees were shaking with fear, she refused to move, stubbornly standing in front of Mrs. Luo.

Daddy wasn’t here, so she had to protect Grandma for him!

Yinyin was scared too. She was afraid that if these people took her away, she’d never see Daddy again.

The system had a headache. When it first entered this world, it hadn’t thought too much. Following the storyline, it inserted this pair of Bai relatives into the plot and cast the human cub as their daughter, smoothly blending into the story.

Who knew these Bai relatives would turn out to be such difficult scumbags?

But after countless calculations, only the Bai family fit the role. Any other family either didn’t match the social class or wouldn’t blend naturally, risking suspicion from the antagonist.

If she had been dropped into an ordinary family, it would’ve been nearly impossible for her to meet an upper-class playboy.

Especially since she was only three years old. Luo Sheng either went to bars, clubs, racing tracks, or sports courts—none of which were places a three-year-old could go. A chance encounter was nearly impossible, and recognizing him as her dad? Pure fantasy!

As for these problematic relatives affecting the mission, the system made a note of it.

“Uncle System, wuwuwu, where did Daddy go?!”

The little dumpling bared her teeth and claws, trying to scare the enemy away, repeating over and over, “When Daddy comes back, he’ll beat you up!”

“When Daddy comes back, he’ll beat you up!”

She looked just like a tiny kitten with all its fur standing on end, baring its tiny claws at the enemy.

Second Uncle Bai and the others sneered.

Fourth Uncle Bai patted his brother on the shoulder. “Brother, why waste time talking to a three-year-old brat? Just grab her and go!”

Yinyin’s whole body tensed, watching them warily. “I’m not going! I’m not going! Daddy’s coming back soon!”

Mrs. Luo tried to scoop her up and protect her, but a burly man shoved her to the ground, leaving her dizzy and dazed.

Second Uncle Bai snatched the little dumpling up. She kicked and clawed desperately, her baby voice turning shrill with fear. “No! No! I’m not going with you! I want Daddy! Wuwuwu…”

She had held back until now, but finally, she burst into tears, wailing, “Daddy! Daddy, where are you…”

Her heart was full of sorrow and despair. Uncle System had no body to help her, Grandma had been knocked down, the maids and assistant were being held back, and she was about to be taken away by bad guys…

She’d never see Daddy again. Daddy would go bankrupt and starve, and she wouldn’t be able to pick up bottles with Grandpa to make money anymore!

All her big plans—gone!

Yinyin knew there was something called human traffickers, and these bad uncles were just like them. They would sell her to some unknown corner of the world, and she’d never find Daddy again!

The little dumpling’s imagination ran wild, scaring herself even more until she sobbed harder.

The hospital corridor was in chaos. Doctors and nurses came out to intervene, telling them to take their argument outside.

Second Uncle Bai smiled, hugging the dumpling, and said, “Sorry, sorry. We’re leaving now.”

His words sounded polite, but with that greedy, vicious face of his, it was grotesque.

When Mr. Luo had been sent to this hospital, it wasn’t a great one—just the nearest option. Later, they stayed because moving him was inconvenient, and they didn’t want leaks. Who knew how the Bai family found out and came here to snatch the child?

Mrs. Luo struggled to her feet, panting. “The police have already been called! If you dare take Yinyin today, we’ll charge you with kidnapping!”

Second Uncle Bai shrugged with a smirk. “If anything, we’re her real blood relatives. Who are you? Even the police can’t say we’re wrong!”

“Children should be with blood relatives. Don’t worry, we’re not heartless—we’ll feed her!”

With that, they turned to leave.

“Where are you taking my daughter?”

A lazy voice rang out, yet it carried a bone-chilling coldness that made everyone shiver.

The struggling dumpling froze for a second before crying out in delight, “Daddy!”

Second Uncle Bai looked up. A man strode toward them from a distance, tall and lean, his steps seemingly unhurried but long and quick. He looked like he had rushed over, shoes still spattered with mud.

Dressed all in black, his face was shadowed, unreadable. Behind him were several burly men, also in black. From afar, it was like demons descending.

As he drew closer, Second Uncle Bai recognized him—the Luo family’s little tyrant, the brat who had beaten him up the other day!

In just a few days, Luo Sheng’s arrogant, mischievous air seemed to have faded, replaced by something darker, heavier. His pitch-black eyes bore into him, dousing the fire in his chest with ice.

He tightened his grip on the dumpling and raised his voice. “Luo brat, what are you doing here?”

“This is the Bai family’s business—it has nothing to do with you! Your Luo family can barely protect itself. I advise you to stay out of trouble!”

Luo Sheng pressed his tongue against his molars, then reached out and took the trembling dumpling from his arms.

Second Uncle Bai froze under that gaze, forgetting to resist even as the child was taken.

The little dumpling didn’t even manage to shout “Daddy” again before burying her face in his neck, sobbing uncontrollably as if to pour out all her fear.

After a long time, her crying quieted to soft hiccups, like a little beast whimpering.

“Wuwuwu… Daddy… Daddy…”

Luo Sheng, annoyed by her tears, clenched his jaw and flicked his wrist. The bodyguards behind him surged forward, subduing the Bai relatives.

He sat on a bench in the corridor with the dumpling in his arms. Mrs. Luo had calmed down the moment she saw her son—

Because if nothing else, when it came to fighting, her son had never lost. And now he had several hulking bodyguards with him.

Luo Sheng lazily crossed his legs. Once the Bai relatives were restrained, he tilted his lips into a cold smile. “Call the police.”

Mrs. Luo blinked. “I-I already did.”

“Then call again. Hurry them up.”

About ten minutes later, the police arrived, cuffing the Bai clan one by one.

“We suspect you’re involved in a premeditated murder case. Please come with us to assist in the investigation,” the lead officer said, showing an arrest warrant.

As Second Uncle Bai was led away in cuffs, he couldn’t help but glance back—at the man who looked like a devil holding the tiny dumpling, eyes half-lidded, lost in thought.
