After returning to her room, the first thing Zhu Jie did was check the wardrobe again. The door was still open, and her heart skipped a beat—had something been stolen, or not?

She walked over cautiously and carefully examined the shelf, almost climbing onto it to take a closer look. Huh? There wasn’t the slightest trace of disturbance.

Zhu Jie gently brushed the shelf with her hand, and white powder immediately stuck to her fingers. It turned out she had secretly spread a thin layer of powder over it.

It was a very soft and brief noise, but it still startled Zhu Jie awake.

Immediately alert, she walked to the door and peered through the crack. In the courtyard, someone was tiptoeing around, seemingly carrying something in their hand.

When Zhu Jie saw who it was, she couldn’t help rolling her eyes to the heavens. She quietly slipped out the door and followed behind that person.

The figure went all the way to the backyard, looked around for a while, and finally chose a particularly windy spot. Grinning happily, he ran over and raised the thing in his hand high into the air.

What was he holding?

Under the faint moonlight, it became clear—good grief, it was a bucket. Judging by the way it wobbled in his hands, it was probably full of water. What was he planning to do?

The bucket slowly began to tilt. One wrong move and the water would pour straight over his own head!

Just then, Zhu Jie’s voice drifted out quietly:

“There’s no need to trouble yourself. If you don’t want to take the exam, then don’t go. What’s the point of making yourself sick?”

The exam? Could that person be Ji Yi?

Yes. Under the moonlight, the man revealed a bitter smile—it really was Ji Yi.

Being caught red-handed like that was unbelievably embarrassing for him.

Startled, Ji Yi’s hands trembled, and the bucket slipped from his grasp.

The water poured right over his head.

“I already told you, and you still poured it?” Zhu Jie hurried over angrily. But as she spoke, her hands were gently brushing the water off him, her eyes full of concern.

Ji Yi said innocently, “I didn’t want to pour it either! But when you suddenly came out, you scared me. My hand slipped and I couldn’t control it.”

Hearing that, Zhu Jie couldn’t help laughing inwardly. Fine, he really was pitiful.

“Go change your clothes already. Aren’t you afraid you’ll actually freeze and get sick?” Zhu Jie said with a sly smile, the anger already gone from her face.

Ji Yi fled back to his room like a defeated dog.

“Aren’t you going to close the door?” he protested in a small voice.

“Let me watch for a bit! It’s fine!” Zhu Jie shamelessly joked. The two of them were becoming more and more improper with each other.

Unexpectedly, Ji Yi simply gave a soft “Mm,” and actually started taking off his clothes right in front of her.

And the rascal even started with his pants first!

His pants weren’t even wet, okay?!

Zhu Jie’s face instantly turned bright red. She couldn’t endure it anymore—she immediately turned away and slammed the door shut.

In truth, Ji Yi hadn’t really intended to take them off. Seeing that she had finally closed the door, he let out a sigh of relief and sat quietly on the edge of the bed.
