Tender green sprouts poked their cute little heads out of the soil. Zhu Jie was practically lying on the ground, admiring her masterpiece. She planned to fill the entire courtyard with flowers, so she had asked Ji Yi to find some flower seedlings for her. She didn’t even know what kind they were—only that when spring arrived, the whole yard would be filled with fragrance.

Hmm? Why was one little sprout growing crooked?

Just as Zhu Jie reached out to straighten it, a loud cackling voice came from outside the gate.

“Erhan! The results are out! Have you gone to check them yet?”

The voice made Zhu Jie tremble. Even the hand supporting the little sprout started shaking uncontrollably, almost pulling the seedling right out of the ground.

“The results are out? What results?” Zhu Jie stood up in a panic, swallowing nervously as she spoke.

In truth, she didn’t even need to ask. Without a calendar and without a phone to remind her, she had no idea how many days had passed.

“What other results could there be? Didn’t Erhan take the county exam? The list has been posted!” Sister-in-law You said excitedly. “Where is Erhan? Did he go to look yet?”

Right! While she had been staying indoors, unaware of the passing days, Ji Yi went to town every day to buy food for her. There was no way he didn’t know the results would be announced today.

Zhu Jie immediately put her hands on her hips and barged straight into Ji Yi’s room.

“Ji Yi, you—”

Before she could finish speaking, it turned into a startled scream.

“Ah! Why aren’t you wearing clothes?!”

Well, that was it—she was definitely going to get needle-eye!

The moment she opened the door, she saw Ji Yi standing there bare-chested. Honestly, when a man suddenly stands in front of you with his chest and eight-pack abs exposed, it’s hard not to feel embarrassed.

Sure enough, Zhu Jie couldn’t stop herself from screaming.

“I’m changing clothes,” Ji Yi replied calmly, pulling his clothes over himself as he spoke.

The white inner robe clung smoothly to his muscles. As he lifted the garment to put it on, the half-hidden view created a strange mix of strength and sensuality.

“Could you stop looking now?” Ji Yi said after slipping on his outer robe, sounding slightly exasperated.

Yes, screaming in protest was one thing, but actually looking was another.

Zhu Jie hadn’t looked away for a second. In fact, she kept swallowing repeatedly, the sound of her gulping almost as loud as water gurgling down a drainpipe.

At Ji Yi’s remark, Zhu Jie hurriedly covered her face in feigned shyness.

“Who wants to look!” she protested as she flusteredly backed out of the room.

After a moment, Ji Yi’s voice came again from inside.

“Please close the door.”

Then he added with a hint of a mischievous smile, “And keep your fingers together, otherwise the light gets through.”

Ah!

With that blunt remark, Zhu Jie became even more flustered.

Yes, not only had her fingers not been together—they were spread as wide as possible. And her big blinking eyes were fully exposed between them.

This wasn’t sneaking a peek at all. She was basically looking openly!

Bang!

With a loud crash, Zhu Jie finally slammed the door shut in annoyance. She flicked her hair and walked over with an indignant expression.

Seeing her like that, Sister-in-law You couldn’t help but laugh.

“What’s Ji Yi doing?”

At the question, Zhu Jie’s face flushed again.

“Getting dressed,” she muttered softly. “But he’s finished now. He’ll come out in a moment.”

So she closed the door only after finishing looking!

Sister-in-law You laughed even harder.

“You two are really something. After being married this long, you still haven’t seen enough?”

“I only just saw it today!” Zhu Jie protested shyly.

“Pfft! Then what do you two do at night if you’ve only just seen it?” Sister-in-law You continued teasing.

Sleep!

Zhu Jie really wanted to say that—but if she said it out loud, Sister-in-law You would probably misunderstand even more.

“At night, of course you can’t just look,” a teasing voice suddenly said from behind her.

Zhu Jie immediately turned around in protest. Ji Yi was already standing there fully dressed, looking perfectly proper.

But what was with that mischievous grin on his face?

Zhu Jie widened her eyes in protest.

But in Sister-in-law You’s eyes, it was simply a young couple flirting and teasing each other—so loving and sweet.
